Oh curly, when's that pic of DofC from? I think that dress, especially the colour, looks lovely on her.

megletthesecond · 18/07/2018 06:35

I liked her sleeveless trench.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2018 07:02

@ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual I think it was from a Diana memorial event last year? It was the last event she attended before they announced she was pregnant with Louis and suffering from HG again.

@ItsNice

Yes @Queen is right. Dress is Prada from last year. ( I was actually trying to find a decent pic of William not in a suit!)

I like Kate in softer styles. She looked good in her “personal wardrobe” at Wimbledon at the weekend.

Clionba · 18/07/2018 07:51

I love that dress of Kate's. Great colour and shape. That picture of Meghan from Suits - not sure that's a flattering outfit. I thought she looked fantastic in the Dior navy /black thing. Very chic!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 18/07/2018 10:56

Thanks both! I missed it at the time. She looks great in it.

SleepingStandingUp · 18/07/2018 11:45

I did think she'd def get away with a few months of bump in some of those awful coat dresses

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2018 16:33

Just saw that 1200 members of the public will be invited into the grounds of Windsor castle for Princess Eugenie's wedding too. Not sure I can get that excited about that one tbh.

Clionba · 18/07/2018 16:50

No, not thrilled. I get the impression that Eugenie is trying to whip up enthusiasm, but I'm not that fussed really.

ajandjjmum · 18/07/2018 17:44

Sadly I thought just that Clionba - like 'who's interested?' Then I felt mean, because she's a young woman, excitedly planning for one of the biggest days of her life.

Clionba · 18/07/2018 17:51

No problem with that, she's excited and I hope it goes well. Maybe she's thinking of Meghan and Harry's wedding? I'm just not hugely interested in it as an event.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2018 18:03

I agree that it does seem like she's trying to copy H&M but the York's just don't have the star quality of the Sussexes or Cambridges.

Still, I hope for her sake there's at least some interest. It would be so embarrassing for her if no one entered the public ballot!

She's a Princess, she's probably imagined her wedding for a long time and knew where she wanted it,etc. like many young girls. The timing sucks for sure but I'm sure they'll make sure it's different enough from Megan's in the detail

I suspect ardent royalists and celeb spotters will still be interested.

Clionba · 18/07/2018 18:09

The York are positioning themselves for when Charles takes over. It's well known that he favours a slimmed down monarchy, and he is not close personally with his brother Andrew. Both Beatrice and Eugenie have been to William and asked him to ensure that they have a royal role, and their father continues to lobby for them to be prominent in the family's official events.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2018 18:22

I sometimes wonder if excluding the Yorks is because Charles feels he was a bit hard done by compared to Andrew?

His mother became queen when he was very young and, as she was so young herself, all her focus had to be on the role of monarch. And from film footage, she seems to have had a rather formal relationship with him. Andrew came along when she'd been Queen for nearly 10 years, was more relaxed in her role, and had more time to spend with him. He's allegedly her favourite too, plus he seems to have fitted in better at school and was the best looking out of the Queens children.

That's an interesting point. There are also issues of trust, not just with Sarah Ferguson, but with Andrew himself. I won't go into detail but Andrew has not always made wise decisions with friendships and investments.

I believe MMs outfits may look great in real life and to Harry if he is advising her, but may not be photographing that well. I think that is an art in itself

OlennasWimple · 18/07/2018 18:47

MM is tiny, though, isn't she. So she's stuck in a "wear designer and have everyone complain about the cost" or "wear high street and it not fit quite properly" dilemma.

She needs a trusted seamstress who can make small amendments to her off the peg purchases so that they fit her frame better - nipping in the waist, making the armholes smaller, adjusting the neck line etc etc

MikeUniformMike · 18/07/2018 19:02

She's about 5'8" so hardly tiny. She's probably uk size 6 or a small 8.
Lots of shops do clothes that size.

paradyning · 18/07/2018 19:03

@Rainbowqueeen I did wonder that about her baggy clothes too

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2018 19:03

I doubt she's 5'8, more like about 5'5.

OP posts:
MikeUniformMike · 18/07/2018 19:07

She looks smaller cos she's far away

TodoDoingDone · 18/07/2018 19:13

GrinGrintime to watch father Ted again!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 18/07/2018 19:14

Although I prefer the clothes Meghan wears compared to Kate, I think Kate carries clothes much better.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 18/07/2018 19:28

Meghan is nowhere near 5ft 8 she is quite petite, I think Harry is 6ft 1, there is certainly more than a 5 inch height difference between them.
