Seeing as the Spencer wedding thread in S&B was so popular, here's a thread to discuss all royal fashion.

(If we could stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women wearing them then that would be great!)

I liked Kate’s headvpband hat. I thought it was similar to the sort of thing Mary of Denmark wore at christenings. With that f neck, she needed a nice pearl choker. There must be loads in Diana’s collection she could borrow.

Did Meghan have dodgy tights on again?

Just had another peruse. I really liked Carole’s dress; really flattering shape and the way de nil colour was subtle but a bit of a change for her.

Pippa’s dress was really long in the bodice. The proportions made her look really stumpy. If that dress was empire line, bo bodice with a swishy knee length skirt it would have been more flattering and would have still had a 40s vibe, which appears to be the trend nowadays

I don't think the tights are as bad as the ones she wore to the garden party.

Well the sussexes are off to Ireland in the morning. I suspect we will be seeing a bot more green. I’m going to punt on some orange making an appearance. It is after all in the Irish flag 🇮🇪.

I wonder if Kate is really pissed at MM for ruining her photos? Bet they hide her in the back!

Dear MN, I've just had my third child christened. It's a boy so we asked everyone to wear blue for the photos. DBIL just married an American woman and everyone is always going on how stylish she is, but personally I think she just looks very similar to my little sister.
Anyway, she rocked up in a green dress. I had a spare blue dress just in case but she refused to wear it.

AIBU to say she can't be in the photos??

Dear MN - I've just had my third child christened, but half of DH's family didn't bother to show up. Even his grandparents didn't come, saying that they had to go to Norfolk instead, even though they went to my other DC's christenings. AIBU to feel a bit upset that DC3 isn't as important as DC1 and DC2?

Dear Wimple, perhaps the DGP's think you should have stopped at 2. I would wait to see if they get him a Christmas present before deciding whether to go nc.

@CurlyWurlyTwirly I reckon you're right about the green but maybe not too much orange. The royals don't do subtle - remember when W&K went to Canada and on one day she wore a maple leaf on her head and on another literally dressed as Anne of Green Gables? Actually the latter outfit was a nice touch and she repeated it at Wimbledon the following year.

Speaking of Wimbledon, surely Kate and/or Meghan are going to make an appearance there this week?

I agree re Meghan and Pippa looking similar though I was scorned on Mumsnet for saying so

I don’t like MM’s olive green outfit it’s a bit too sludgy for me. I love Carol Middleton’s outfit and Kate’s McQueen cream dress. I think the previous poster is spot on with regard to Kate’s hat, it is really similar to ones the Belgian royals wear.

Queen Mathilde of the Belgians is another one who's been dressing like she's 50 from the time she was about 30.

I think Kate’s outfit is just awful - like a 1980s registry office bride. Why doesn’t she wear something pretty, light and summery? Megan’s dress is a lovely flattering colour but again not very summery. She’s wearing very samey style hats now too.

It's all so OTT. Just have a christening with some nice summer frocks - no need for the hats.

Kate is a very safe dresser I think. To be fair Princess Diana wore some shockers I suppose she’s trying to avoid making a mistake.

Camilla's outfit looked nice, Carole's was a bit saggy (someone seems to have told the Middleton women that gathered busts and darts are the way to go )

Loved Catherine’s headpiece. She looks absolutely thrilled with her beautiful little boy.

Mrs Pelly looked fab. Loved Megan’s outfit.

Pippa looks better in other shots. Mrs M looked smashing.

The DoC looked like she couldn’t wait to get back for cocktail hour as she left the chapel.

Carole's dress just makes her boobs look massive and saggy. As does the cousins dress, needs a lower / v neckline to avoid shelf boobs.

Well, Kate certainly only has eyes for Louis! She looks thrilled to bits with him! She is a bit of a literal dresser. Remember when she was in New Zealand and had a dress with a massive fern across the shoulder??
She always wears cream or white, hat with flower for christenings. Maybe when she's queen she'll go for acidic brights!!

Changing subject a bit apparently Robbie Williams daughter Theodora is going to be flower girl at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

If it is actually true and not a planted story, it will be a very show- bizzy wedding. I wonder who else Eugenie is friends with?

I think it's interesting how Eugenie is promoting herself ahead of the wedding. A very active Instagram account, lots of previously unseen images, her scoliosis x rays etc. Lots of drip feeding about her wedding. I think it'll be as show bizzy as Harry and Meghan's!
