Seeing as the Spencer wedding thread in S&B was so popular, here's a thread to discuss all royal fashion.

(If we could stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women wearing them then that would be great!)

She should have matched skin tone, not the dress.

Love Wolford tights myself. Great quality.

I do think that it's sort of funny that the Holy Grail of tights is tights that don't look like tights, but bare skin. Happily I live in Florida where we just go with the bare skin.

True @SenecaFalls, but even funnier is the archaic insistence on such rules in the 21st century!

I thought Kate and Meghan would be strong enough to just say No to the fuddy duddy Royal courtiers when it came to tights.
Perhaps / Hopefully Sophie, who has really got into her fashion stride, will be the mouse that roared ?

I often think it's the courtiers who make up these rules and that the Queen herself isn't too bothered. I doubt she does a leg check to see if the female members of the family have tights on!

Several chances to ogle royal fashion in the coming week - Louis' christening tomorrow (pastels all round and Princess Anne in something she wore 30 years ago?), an RAF service at the Abbey with a balcony appearance (will Kate be there and will Megs show her shoulders again, the hussy??) and reception afterwards, and then the Sussexes are off to Ireland (at least one green outfit?) for a couple of days.

So we should have plenty to discuss!

I'm not a gambler at all, but i feel the need for us all to do a quick guess on the colours worn by the big names for the upcomings

So, i say: tomorrow's Christening:
HRH - salmon pink.
Kate - a pattern; with a warm colour. Maybe yellow.
MM - so tempted to say pastel pink, but no! Orange! (unlikely)
Camilla - green/grey.
Sophie - lilac. Maybe a pattern ...
Anne - A strong blue. Not a recycle.
The men - dark suits

Anyone care to bid?

There will be no Sophie or Anne present, they haven’t been at either of the other christenings.

Kate, again something a similar colour to the christening robe & again, McQueen.
The queen in blue. ( she wore blue for George and pink for Charlotte)
George and Charlotte in some coordinating blue outfit.

Meghan beige ( trying to blend into background)
Carole Blue
Pippa cream
All men, Navy suits blue ties

George, Charlotte & William’s christening back in the day.

Wonder who will be godparents. Some obscure school friends, we’ve never heard of...

Don't they usually release the names of the godparents the day before the christening? I seem to remember they did that for George and Charlotte. I wonder if Harry will be a godparent this time around?

Or Pippa and James, unless they're already godparent to George or Charlotte?

And was Harry not at Charlotte's christening? (Yes, I probably should've put all my questions into one post!)

Was Harry still serving when Charlotte was christened? Or maybe on a royalnew tour.

No siblings as god parents, just cousins, old friends and staff

Prince Harry wasn't able to see Princess Charlotte until she was three weeks old. He then missed her christening because he had already committed to joining conservation projects in Southern Africa. Talking about the vital work he is carrying out, the royal joked that he was "a bad uncle" for not being there when Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, marked their daughter's big day.

I think a very small number of guests. The Middketons, top Royals and godparents. Kate will be in white or cream. Coat dress and hat with a flower. If Meghan is there, I suspect back to the beige with boat neckline. Maybe they'll throw curveballs, though and turn up in red jumpsuits!

Details on the christening have been released - www.royal.uk/christening-prince-louis-guests-and-godparents. Doesn't look like the Queen and DoE will be attending. No sibling godparents but perhaps Lucy Middleton is a cousin of Kate's?

If they're still serving slices of wedding cake for the christening, I wonder how many christening they had planned??

So no Granny and Gramps, no siblings? Seems a bit harsh when they've been tp the other ones

Van Cutsem, Pelly, Meade - familiar names. I thought the guest list would be small. Not surprised about HM and D of E, what with health issues etc.

Apparently it isn't health, it was agreed before. Queen is v busy this week and hasn't got time for yet another christening

All friends of Kate & Wills bar a Middleton cousin.
Will be a sea of beige & cream plus navy suits.
If the Queen isn’t there, perhaps Camilla will wear pink & Carole blue.

I know it’s irrational but I’m so sad that Diana isn’t there. She would have been the most wonderful grandmother. I don’t dislike Camilla personally, but it is so sad to see the OW taking Diana’s place in everything. ( is a bit of a trigger for me...)

Guy Pelly is a godfather

I can so imagine Louis being a playboy Prince & George being the sensible one. Louis will be falling out of Mahiki with a supermodel on each arm.

Who knows about Diana? It's interesting to consider the way her life was going.

I've just read HM isn't going because she's travelling back from Norfolk.
