No real pain today thanks to hefty doses of locals. The wince comes at payment. I have temporary crowns and return next week for impressions, then again for fitting. I have known for ages that major work was in the offing. Thanks to everyone who has walked this way and empathised.

MrsLucas · 13/07/2018 00:13

SotE is Vol de Nuit.

Think the Scent Addict and Bloom subscriptions probably scratch different itches? Think £12 including postage isn't awful for 8mls, and 8mls is a really useful amount of perfume. As much as you''ll ever need of some things. Wish the choice was better, but there are a few classics to work through.

Bloom sounds fantastic Count. Their themed boxes have amazing contents, but I hate the 1ml of expensive niche format with a vengeance; it's so darn tantalising. They makes me miserable after a couple squirts, as the experience is so fleeting, and FBs are usually out of reach.

Hope you're doing OK MrsR8? Flowers

OC - sorry to hear you are expanding the dental set of our Venn diagram is expanding. Flowers

Welcome Wolves Smile

3DSpex · 13/07/2018 09:25

OC Hope you’re dental hell is over soon. I’ve been putting off major work for moths but need to face my fears and get it done ASAP!

Welcome to the Perfume Coven Wolves 😆 Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria range isn’t long lasting in my experience. The only one I’ve sniffed that has good longevity is Nerolia Bianca.

I’ve been strangely off my perfume for the last couple of days and have been living in linear, not-really-perfume scents. Clean Shower Fresh by day, Library of Fragrance Baby Powder by night. I think it’s psychological and linked with finishing work for the summer. I just want to feel chilled out, clean and cosy.

No SOTD yet, but thinking about Amberama...

3DSpex · 13/07/2018 09:26

On the Bloom front - I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve filled my online basket there but not checked out Grin. Some great perfumes. But another one who despises 1ml samples. In fact, I refuse to buy them.

BlueKittens · 13/07/2018 09:29

SOTD is 4160 Sex Goddess. Still love this one

If the selection was better if sign up to Scent Addict in a heartbeat. 8ml is perfect for me. There’s another service called Sniph- anyone tried it? Selection is much, much better.

Get well soon mrsr8

Welcome back mrsr, hope you're doing OK.

Sock I have sympathy - my husband has crowns and infills and bridges all sorts of other whatnot so I know the drill. Literally and figuratively.

SOTD is Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita, which was a freebie sample from a lovely eBayer. Not one I would have chosen for myself, but it's rather nice. To me, it smells like nasturtiums, fizzy cola bottles, white peppercorns and cassia bark.

MrsLucas · 13/07/2018 11:09

Sorry for incoherence...was meant to be on school run so posted in a hurry....

MrsLucas · 13/07/2018 11:15

Thanks to you, I have Knowing in my queue MrsR Wink.

I went through the latest LT/TS and found a few 4*s on the Scent Addict list I wouldn't've otherwise considered. It helps with choice if you are happy wearing masculines. I quite like the way you can hold promising things in the queue but bump them off if you get to sniff them in real life before they come up.

Bloom do a Nose Club where you can choose which 10ml sample you get each month. Not cheap at £240 but after a few months of the 1ml samples my list is building so might consider it next year.

CountFosco · 13/07/2018 12:52

Got my numbers wrong. 2x10ml a month for 6 months is £240, 12 months is £400. That would be my perfume budget for the year but I'd smell marvellous darling!

OutComeTheWolves · 13/07/2018 14:47

I've pondering scent addict for a couple of days now. Agree with what others say about disliking 1ml samples but I'd like scent addict to have more choice.

My scent of the day today is regret! I was mooching around tk max this morning & had a spray of a Tokyo milk perfume (02 awaken within I think ) which was £15. Thought it was ok but nothing special so I didn't buy it. Unfortunately, through the day it's really grown on me. It has a beautiful neroli scent and it's still going strong hours after I sprayed it. It's a really happy/fresh smell if that makes sense. Am now debating if it's worth dragging the toddler back out again to get it as it's not on tk maxx online.

Incidentally, any NE Mumsnetters who go to tk maxx today, please don't buy it! There was only 2 on the shelf!

3DSpex · 13/07/2018 17:32

SOTD ended up being Versace Vanitas, which is a nice, fresh citrus-floral.

Knowing is gorgeous. I have a little vintage 15ml I got for a song on eBay and I use it very springly as it is so bloody gorgeous.

The heat and humidity is ramping up again in London this evening. SOTE will need to be something very light and fresh.

Which store???

MrsLucas · 13/07/2018 18:27

Paris 1948 is half price SotW.

OutComeTheWolves · 13/07/2018 18:38

@CountFosco I saw it in team valley this morning, but dh has just stopped by metro centre & picked me some up from there.

PlausibleSuit · 13/07/2018 18:46

SOTE. Cartier La Panthere is probably overkill for Chinese takeaway with friends but in my defence I'm only wearing a tiny bit - half a spritz at most - and it is utterly fabulous.

UnnecessaryFennel · 13/07/2018 21:00

L'AP Premier Figuier for a hot, sweaty #trumpmarch through central London today Smile. Lasted beautifully.

Judydreamsofhorses · 13/07/2018 22:17

SOTD JM Wood Sage. I feel like I am getting the bloody cold, and I have to go for lunch with my bloody mother tomorrow. Urgh.
