WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK 2 May-June 07

WideWebWitch · 21/05/2007 07:29

This is week 2 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Glad you're enjoying your Moron Sobernow. I think I'll get one as well, then I'll really be part of the boot camp team Is there a swimming version for MI?!

I have scraped the moss and pulled up the weeds from a large brick terrace and two wide paths. I ache everywhere but particularly in the bingo-wing area so I will aim to do this more often.

I have not been running today. Nor am I going to!

I have been goody-two-shoes with everything else though. Except that chocolate bar. But it is the weekend .

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 26/05/2007 20:58

Where is everyone

I want to buy a Moron right now! Do I want an Omron Walking Style II Pro? Or a different style?

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 21:10

I think that's the one. On one of the earlier threads, marina linked to it. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago.

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 21:10

link to the one you think it is and then we'll be able to tell

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 26/05/2007 21:32

this one? it also comes in white or red.

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 21:35

that's it

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 26/05/2007 21:37

Thank you!!

WideWebWitch · 27/05/2007 11:33

Hello all! Sobernow, so glad your Moron is finally here. I find it v sobering realising that loads of walking = 250 poxy cals burned.

Yesterday

granola
hummus sandwich
smoked salmon
finger sandwiches (weeny weeny ones) x 3
Champagne
Tuna steak
Chablis
more Champagne
and my only exercise consisted of picking up the phone to room service
am posting from enormous white bed in our hotel suite while dh has a bath...have only been awake since 10am and have had a full English breakfast so far, oops

But JL personal shopper was FANTASTIC! I have loads of outfits I feel great in, at least one of which makes me genuinely look a dress size smaller. Spent £525 on stuff that should see me through the summer and went to dinner last night feeling I looked really ok.

Hope everyone's havng a good weekend!

Strangely enough I did not go swimming this morning . I appear to be struck down with Mysterious Ailment not of course related in the least to boozy evening out.

Food like the old Jewish joke - terrible, and such small portions...

V odd symptoms like aching head and exhaustion. Obviously warrants investigative article.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 27/05/2007 12:00

NB wags a finger at MI but is a bit too pissed to focus properly and may actually be remonstrating the coat stand.

Moron is despatching on Wednesday

Had a short run (1km) this morning to loosen up aching gardening muscles. It hasn't worked so I'll try a lavendar oil bath later.

lol sobernow. I'm looking forward to a full report on the hotel www.

I have dragged the children round Kew after being driven slowly mad by them this morning - dd was chasing me round in her Ood mask and ds was complaining endlessly about being short changed in his time on the computer arrghhh. Bring on half term.

Have done thousands of steps but it makes no difference really because I baked an enormously rich chocolate cake and am having a huge glass of red wine but I feel I deserve them .

We did not have good weather We were having gusts of up to 50 mph this morning as the camp site was so exposed and it wasn't doing our tent any favours (2 bent poles), so we came home But we had a lovely time while we were there the biys got to play at the beach on saturday when the weather was OK and we had a nice time all snuggled up together in our tent, listening to the howling wind and the driving rain oh well, at least I did lots of walking, which is good as I have eaten very badly, chips, pizza, chocolate, the shameful list goes on Maybe I'll do better tomorrow and I'll order a moron.

winnie · 28/05/2007 08:39

kate100, you sound very philosophical about the camping There is a lot of campin ggoing on near me this weekend and how I've felt for the campers as the rain has poured down. Can't really see how you eat healthily camping in the rain so don't be too hard on yourself. I am sure I would need comfort food Well done on the walking

Batters, 28,000 steps!! Fab. Glad you had a lovely compliment from your friend. You deserve it. It sounds like you have had a fun filled weekend

WWW,

FIS, I want to drag my dc around Kew. In fact I think this friend is causing me living-in-London-envy

MI, I hope you are feeling better.

I too have been feeling rotten this weekend. I've had a chest infection which has kept me awake for three nights now and has largely confined me to the house this weekend. I have managed to do a lot of gardening before the rain set in & I've had a very productive weekend sketching and painting which is thoroughly indulgent and goes along way to making me happy.

Have lost more weight. Have kept to bootcamp rules (although exercise & sleep is lacking this weekend).

winnie · 28/05/2007 08:41

"In fact I think this friend is causing me living-in-London-envy"

Obviously I meant thread... have lost it

glitterfairy · 28/05/2007 08:50

Morning winnie! I have had a relapse of celebrating after the end of my court case but today I am giving myself a shake and sorting out my life. I am starting the day wiht a healthy juice and one for lunch and going to pay attention to creams and exercise!!!!! (firm fist shaking emoticon)

winnie · 28/05/2007 08:52

Goodmorning Glitterfairy, I am so glad you have had something to celebrate

glitterfairy · 28/05/2007 08:55

I had a thread winnie but the court stuff is over and it all wroked out really well. X let me know his feelings by (I think) letting two of the tyres down on my car but I am made of sterner stuff and it takes more than petty vengeance which could have killed his kids to get us all down here these days!

motherinferior · 28/05/2007 10:24

Well, I did go swimming this morning - because instead of going to my parents' for the day we got called at 6.20 by dad of one of DD1's classmates; his partner has gone into labour, and he was taking up my offer to have said classmate. Have three children squabbling in the Inferiority Complex. Small boy looks exactly like DP.

I think my earth mother fantasies are running out.

WideWebWitch · 28/05/2007 15:07

Hello! We're back, had a wonderful time, will report fully on hotel later (despite fab time wouldn't necessarily recommend the hotel) and well, yes, quite Sobernow re exercise, ha ha ha!

Ate at Pizza Express last night so had half a bottle of Chianti and then saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (crap) before retiring back to our room with some Cava. Very late night but it didn't matter as we had a lie in until 9.30am this morning and then had a wonderful pub lunch on the way back, steak sandwich, chips and 2 glasses of wine.

Glitterfairy, god your ex is a cnt isn't he? (hi Mr ex GF if you're reading, hope you got that) well done for not letting it get to you.

MI, sorry about mysterious ailment (and extra kid!) and hope you feel better today. Was it a good night out?

Batters, wow at 28000 steps, I really am v impressed now I know how far that is, well done

Kate, sorry about rain but good on walking, are you posting from the campsite? In which case I am impressed!

Winnie, well done on weight loss, sorry you're not feeling well.

Duchess of Norks, have you got yer Moron then?

I have been very very high on happiness and sleep etc and I haven't even eaten or drunk that much really, it's been wonderful. Friends are coming to stay this evening with several children so I am cooking some chickens later and it will be v happy and lovely but fattening. Never mind, it is lovely and rainy and if it stays this way I will be able to walk and start using the Moron again tomorrow.

Everyone seems very happy despite the appalling weather.

I have my parents staying and my alcohol consumption has increased as a result (the nights can seem very long). Have had very little exercise since Friday and have eaten very well in an indulgent way.

Have a day in London with DH tomorrow and will be dining out so will have to return to bootcamp proper on Wed. I will be buying some good running shoes tomorrow as an incentive to keep up with the gym.

WWW - glad you had a great time. Which JL did you go to?

motherinferior · 28/05/2007 16:33

Hmmm, not sure about my entire happiness quotient. Braved the Seventh Circle Of Hell that is the Horniman Museum on a wet bank holiday Monday (yes I knew it would be hell, but had to get kids out of the house not least because DP was dead on his feet) and Visitor Boy has just pooed his pants for the second fecking time today. (He's five. Clearly Something Is Up.) DP has coped (he's returned from the dead) but I need another glass of wine, I suspect.

Things could be much worse, though, could be (only) halfway through labour like Visitor Boy's stepmother.

expatinscotland · 28/05/2007 16:36

This weekend, I discovered Pimm's and lemonade, with lots of fruit added in.

So much booze and blowing off the hand cream, early nights and walking lots - unless you count fridge runs for more Pimm's and lemonade.

foxinsocks · 28/05/2007 19:53

there are only 7 days left till mine are back at school (we have an inset day on the end) arrgghh. Took them out to Nandos in a vain attempt to get 5 minutes peace from ds's constant chattering and the fact that they cannot stop being Oods and chasing each other round the house and wrestling.

They did 'help' me make meatballs at the end of the day and we all snuggled up to watch Masterchef so that was fun.

Have done very few steps and have consumed alcohol but tomorrow's another day!

kate - sorry the weather was rubbish for you but it's lucky you came back because it was freezing today

expat - Pimms is so easy to drink, isn't it!

and batters, at 28,000 steps!
