WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK 2 May-June 07

WideWebWitch · 21/05/2007 07:29

This is week 2 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

FIS I nearly got knocked off by a bus driver a few weeks ago and I rode into the bus station and told him what I thought of is driving.

www - good luck with the job

glitterfairy - wow!!

I have been much better today, walked into town with the ds's to do the shopping and walked the dog tonight, I have eaten good healthy food and drunk water.

However, I'm now watching the F Word and I feel hungry and want to run in the kitchen and cook yummy things

Marina · 22/05/2007 22:42

Glitterfairy, that is a terrific achievement, wow I hope that'll be me in a year's time, well done - and to you too pamina, I must pony up your sponsorship money
I think I must have developed selective blindness at sobernow's news though as I somehow missed it first time round

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 22/05/2007 23:21

Reporting in late as DH was admitted to hospital yesterday and I was a bit busy with all that. He is fine and at home again.

Ate well all weekend, had a massage and lots of moisturising, no alcohol and did lots of heavy gardening work and had a quick swim.

I've done a 2 mile run this afternoon and am drinking at least one litre of water per day. And I've painted my nails a rather muted red colour so feel rather glam with these posh paws tapping away at the keyboard.

I am still going to bed vereeeee late though. But usually before midnight, which is an hour or two better than usual.

And I haven't booked a hair cut yet....

SimplySparkling · 22/05/2007 23:28

I know I shouldn't be here as it is far too late, but there you go.

Duchess I hope your dh is feeling much better now.

mi congragulations on the job. I'm sure you can bring rl (honesty, realism, etc) to the subject rather than those who airy fairy around being 100% perfect at all times. Lets face it, they're not an inspiration to the rest of us, more of an irritation.

Hmmmm, Caribbean......................not sure camping in Suffolk this w/e really equates does it?

Well done on job MI

WWW - looking forward to personal shopping feedback too as I'm rubbish at clothes shopping for me - DH usually has to drag me in, make me try things on then insist I buy them as I'm faffing too much. Too many years on a crap income I think.

FiS - Hope you have recovered, its the shock that's the worst sometimes. I'm a cyclist at heart and have had a few near misses in my time, one about 15 years ago that scares me even now when I think about it.

Think I'm in love with my Moron though have a (possibly) moronic question - does leg length, and therefore stride length, effect the number of steps you do overall?

Also still glowing from an incident at Toddler group yesterday when a newish mum was rendered speechless when she found out how old I was. Can't claim all the credit though as my mum is 70 this year and really doesn't look anywhere near it! I've got her to thank for a lack of stretchmarks too - good genes

Need to go and pack or it will be very basic camping!!

foxinsocks · 23/05/2007 12:18

thanks for all your well wishes

moondog! Sounds fabulous!

I tried on some shorts this morning (that fitted me last summer) and I can't do the top buttons up so I think I need to put in a bit more exercise in the coming weeks or I'm going to be short of clothes once summer arrives arrghh!

feetheart, enjoy your camping.
duchess - hope dh is OK now.

foxinsocks · 23/05/2007 12:20

www - I look forward to hearing how your personal shopping thing went

WideWebWitch · 23/05/2007 17:00

Hello all!

lunch was smoked salmon and 2 pieces of wholemeal toast, no butter, with anchovy paste
and a packet of Wotsits Moondog
I've also had another toast/anchovy paste
and some prawns
got sunburned today, had put factor 25 on my face and neck but forgot my arms and they are RED, as I was out of the office for work this afternoon. I can also see where I missed a tiny bit on my neck, it's red. So USE SUNSCREEN, it's vicious this sun.
Prob not enough water
no walking
Am knackered
roll on Thursday and the end of my week

Friend came to dinner last night. We ate a (rather fabulous) chicken curry (it did have coconut milk in, I know this is Not Good on fat front) and rice and cucumber and a couple of glasses of white wine...and then she had two of the rather fabulous chocolates she'd brought and I had rather more.

And I realised that this is why she is a Thin Person and I by contrast am sporting a kind of deflated walrus on my front

foxinsocks · 24/05/2007 10:17

thanks batters

wow, you guys are doing well with the steps. I'm going for a bike ride today (hopefully not encountering any more mad wimmin) once the washing is done and I can hang it out (before the bad weather comes - although it's 26C today, they said on the news that it could be 13C on Monday ).

I am doing better on the food front and have had salad instead of potatoes all week.

However, I did make a Lemon Marscapone Cheesecake with Cherries on top and managed to polish it off with dh last night. I don't even want to think how many calories was in that!

Marina · 24/05/2007 12:54

Hello all, have been out of circulation for a day or so due to lurgy now striking dd.
Am impressed at both running/gym and cheesecake scoffing feats - all Mumsnet life is here methinks
Am feeling fitter and brighter, although I think both www and batters have mentioned skin not playing ball and mine has jumped on the zit bandwagon alas!
Hope you dodged Death Race 2000 Mummies on your bike ride FIS and I must mail you re the Speccy.
Above all the prospect of batters blooming in non-black is a fabulous one for a summery day, you go girl! Wonderful
I had a compulsion to eat chocolate buttons during the Apprentice too pamina, possibly to prevent my idle fingers from hurling the remote at Corned Beef Chops Katie.
The 23rd is tricky for me, minor matter of ds' birthday festivities . But I will hopefully swing by to have a glass with with you all if I possibly can.

motherinferior · 24/05/2007 12:55

I have DD2's birthday minifiesta that day too.
