WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK 2 May-June 07

WideWebWitch · 21/05/2007 07:29

This is week 2 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

well done pamina!

and well done all of you on your weight loss - really amazing.

batters - if dd can wait for a tracksuit, I found Sainsburys did some really nice girl's tracksuits last year (and at a v good price) but they haven't got them out yet (only all the summery stuff) but I imagine in a few month's time, they'll be back in stock again. Primark, of course, had some cheapsters too.

I'm in a stinking foul mood having been knocked off my bike this morning by some silly tart in her stupid little car. It was at a 4 way intersection - I could tell she hadn't even looked to see me coming so managed to stop my bike before any major damage was done but I was very shook up and all she did was mouth 'sorry' and drove off as if I was some minor irritant in her life grrrr.

thanks dinosaur - luckily, I had my helmet on so there's not a scratch on me!

winnie · 22/05/2007 12:24

FIS
Glad you are ok if rather shaken up. Bloody hell, I can't believe she just drove off!

Marina · 22/05/2007 12:35

Blimey FIS what a horrible scare. Glad you are OK!
I have a brain like a sieve at the mo winnie, I am sure I remember you posting about your fab driving test result now

yoyo · 22/05/2007 13:03

FIS - thank goodness you weren't hurt. Got clipped a few times when I lived in Oxford and cycled everywhere and it really does shake you up. She could have stopped to make sure you were okay - silly woman.

Good day so far although was woken early so not in the best of moods. Had a really good Pilates class and aim to go to the gym later. Have realised that exercise is the key for me as I am much less inclined to pick at food if I have been to the gym. Think if I gave up alcohol the weight would drop off me but unfortunately I enjoy it too much. Will just have to work extra hard on all other things.

Marina - another kilo! You are doing really well.

winnie · 22/05/2007 13:35

Pamina, well done on running the race for life. One of my goals is to get fit enough to do a sponsored 'activity' to raise money for the hospice where my Mum died. So, maybe this time next year inspired by all of the runners on here and encouraged by everyone on here I will get there!

Marina, well done on the continued weight loss. It's a great feeling isn't it?

Yoyo, I have to say limiting my alcohol intake has had a huge impact on the speed of my weightloss (I think) but if I thought I had to give up a drink (or three) at the weekend I don't think I'd be able to keep going over the long term We all need something

Hi everyone, I'm still with you in good intentions. Low or no alcohol, mainly healthy food, not enough water, more exercise, sunscreen sometimes, hand cream most of time. Early nights but accidentally had an espresso at 6.30pm yesterday and was awake and buzzing till 3am (can't take it any more)

Having trouble with my morning routines so not getting a good breakfast which gets me off on the wrong foot. Must do better.

Have lost about 25g I think.

Aaargh

(Well done sobernow)

motherinferior · 22/05/2007 15:03

FIS

I am never, ever going shopping again - went for an interview this morning and decided to stay in town. Tried on jeans, feeling increasingly urgently the need to convert to radical Islam and wear a hijab for the rest of my life as I witnessed bellyflob flobbling flobbishly over the top. Too shaming. Then I tried to find a pair of flat sandals of a presentable nature in size Mutantly Small, with no result either. Did manage to score some new sunscreen, a yellow BeneFit stick to disguise nasal ruddiness, and the last dark red seamless bra in my size in Rigby&Peller, in order to present norks under T-shirts.

And then I got home and found out I've been offered the job writing about health which suggests I should clean - or perhaps disinfect - up my act pretty smartish.

winnie · 22/05/2007 15:54

Awww... congratulations on the offer MI

motherinferior · 22/05/2007 16:14

Did I also say I have to have a blood test on an empty stomach at 9.30 this Friday? After taking my children to school? The mind boggles. DP has already announced smartish that he has to be at the Chelsea Flower show at 6.30 in the AM.

I am not how shall I put it at my most radiant best when hungry.

WideWebWitch · 22/05/2007 19:05

MI, I have my personal shopper appts this week, will let you know if I think they're worth it and if they are you could try that for work clothes, congrats on the job, fantastic!

FIS, glad you're ok.

Winnie, Batters, Pamina, me too on wine front, I am v rubbish in all or nothing kinda way.

Marina, that sounds like a lovely weekend and well done on weight loss.

Arfy, that's interesting abotu the differences.

Iota, do stay, please!

Kate100, I love Borough Market, yum.

pamina, well done on the running and abstinence, they're both v impressive.

Yoyo, sorry aobut yer early morning, me too, 5.30am, yuk

Middling day but I drank wine last night. Had a lovely evenign with dh though, it was worth it.

Today
toast x 2 with butter and Marmite, have run out of granola
apple
strawberries
huge salad with tin of mackerel, tomatoes, capers
another apple
a few nuts and goji berries
a wheatgrass shot
a perfect skin vitamin tablet
a packet of Quavers, 87 cals
one chocolate at work, oops
prob enough water
no walking, I can't do walking in the heat so MUST start going in the early mornings/evenings instead when I can stand it
and we're having another M&S thing tonight, and wine and watching 24.
But I must have an earlyish night, am knackered.

Dh told me my skin looked amazing last night so it's the gojis or the wheatgrass or the perfect skin vits or a combination...

I really need to step up the exercise and be better about wine, a debauched weekend isn't supposed to lead me into a week of being baaaaad. But I am enjoying it.

And I have just been put forward for a fab sounding job altohugh I don't care if I don't get an interview, I just need reassuring that there's stuff out there...

I only really read this to check on yuor persistent Wotsits habit WWW. It cracks me up,the thought of you tucking in like a little kid.

FIS,that is outrageous. Stupid bitch!!!

Congratulations on your newjob MI.

Did I mention that am off to the Caribbean this Sunday? Damn, that Johnson's holiday skin is good.

Oh,and have had IPL treatment on bikini line and on some sun dmaage on face and am delighted beyond words with results. Highly recommended.

yoyo · 22/05/2007 20:28

WWW - great news about being put forward for a job. You will be snapped up at this rate!

MI - fab news about the job. You will pass on lots of tips I hope. Buying clothes is a bugger but perhaps WWW has the answer with a personal shopper.

Moondog - have a great time. I have just binned two bottles of the Johnsons stuff as I can't remember when I bought them and don't know how they deteriorate with age. It would be just my bloody luck to use it and develop an interesting (not natural) shade. Am keeping on with the gym by the way!

Feeling really grumpy as the DC have been really demanding and "Mummy" is ringing in my ears. May go and vent anger in gym at 9 after Wan Gok wotsit has finished.

glitterfairy · 22/05/2007 20:54

Good news www.

Yoyo no I feel really well. Ran 10.9k yesterday and never felt better.I have now lost four stone and I think it all helps but I have loads to lose still.

Winnie we all have our crosses to bear but mine is extra large! LOL. Good news about the driving.

Have been very healthy still and had a green and vegggie day with chicken and beans for tea. Not as much water as I need though so off to make up with a big bottle full. My hands need more cream the more I put on them why is that?

glitterfairy · 22/05/2007 20:58

THanks everyone for the congrats by the way.
