WWW's six week 10year younger boot camp, WEEK 2 May-June 07

WideWebWitch · 21/05/2007 07:29

This is week 2 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

I'm being crap. And I don't care. Far to stressed and upset to be good.
Actually that's an exaggeration. I have been drinking, but I'm still eating fairly healthily simply because I don't have unhealthy food in the house, and don't actually fancy it. But I have discovered another difference between people who think thin and the rest of us. Faced with problems PWTT go to the gym. I open wine.

No, you're not being unreasonable! It's my fault for going into labour 16 days early four years ago, anyway

Pamina - I promise that if you come to the meet-up I will personally undertake to ensure you do nothing to make you fat

My little bro is being an arse \link
{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=7&threadid=328765&stamp=070524155843\here} if you can be bothered to wade through his faults - I'm getting bored of it myself now

Batters. No black. None. Are you sure? Would we recognize you?

I did drink last night, dh said at 10 "come and watch The Apprentice" - he'd recorded it after the football - and so we had wine. Oops.

Rubbish day, haven't walked for a week, had chicken and chips for lunch.

Batters, it's FINE not to change the 10yy meet, I will come! YANBU

I look rubbish but what the hell.

marina - hope you are feeling better

prufrock - think it's only natural to reach for a glass or two in times of stress . I hope you, at least, get to enjoy a bit of your time away.

I can't make the 23rd but might be able to pop in with kids to say hi. I'm normally on my own with them at weekends which tends to put the kibosh on drunken ladeez lunches

There's been a lot of positive press recently for red wine (or so I tell myself!).

Pamina - I'm amazed by how much you run!

Have been good with everything apart from the wine. Fortunately no nice nibbles in house so haven't stuffed my face whilst sipping chilled white. I have been going to the gym every day but it doesn't seem to be making a huge difference. I have been eating very helthily too so it must be the bloody wine. Feeling rather disillusioned and the DC are still arguing and driving me bomkers. Actually, could scream very loudly right now.

Will try and get a definitive answer re: DH and babysitting on 23rd tomorrow.

I've had 3 glasses of wine this evening - very rare for me. But I was at pre-school meeting and drink is a necessity.

I have done mostly good things today. I don't run on a Thursday because it's time dedicated to DD2, she gets bored when her siblings aren't here.

I am now off to bed

Have been rubbish, I do really well with the eating until the evening and then I just want to pig out , DH and I had crisps and chocolate last night, although I did swap the chocolate for a curly wurly which is not quite as bad, there's less of it because of the holes

I have drunk lots of water and moisturised and sunscreened and my skin is looking better and I am trying to eat more fruit and veg. However, it will probably be a take away tonight as by the time DH and I have packed the car and then made up after the row we'll have while doing it, we won't feel like anything else.

We're off camping for the weekend, so please pray fr nice weather, at least I'll get lots of walking done, it's further to the toilet for a start, I'm going to order a moron when I get back with my holiday books.

Have a lovely bank holidy everyone.

Had a very bad evening yesterday (can you tell it's confession time?). We had some friends over, and we demolished 2 bottles of wine and some beer, and an Indian....

sorry...

however, have had a good morning shopping this morning - you know how sometimes you go to the shops and everything is depressing and looks horrible, and you come home with nothing but miserable? Well today was the opposite! I got a skirt, (the one on the end, but in blue not red), a blue top which is very 'Trinny and Susannah' - it kind of comes up under the bust and has a sort of detail thing, and a red dress, which is quite fitted over the bust and then skims over the waist and hips, and is quite long, and that is red. And I also bought these shoes which may not be very fashionable, but I love them! AND I got a decent fitting bra, which has made a real difference to how I feel - my old ones were so grim, and I'm still b/feeding ds2, so have been wearing yucky feeding bras. But have bitten the bullet and got a nice underwired one.

Phew! A good shop is very therapeutic. And I DIDN'T stop for coffee, or cookies at the cookie shop. Just solid shopping!

WideWebWitch · 25/05/2007 13:38

I've been terrible, Muriel, wine a go go, brie and bacon panini for breakfast...

lol at Sobernow's Spesh delivery.

Right, personal shopper report:

It was NEARLY a disaster. The first 2 things she brought (from Phase eight) I couldn't get on and I wanted to slit my wrists at the thought that I'm a size bigger than the Boden skirt I've got on today. But no, I'm not, thankthefkingf, she brought another load of stuff from another few brands and those other brands in the same size were either fine or even slightly (vair vair slightly)big on me.

I think my hips are a diff size to my waist actually, so for eg trousers that are a size x don't fit me, whereas a skirt will. Weird. Anyway, I got 2 skirts, a camisole and 2 jacket type things and I spent £123. I would have bought more if we'd have had more time, it was an hour and a half. I tried on lots of stuff I wouldn't normally have done and she left me alone in a patterned skirt "I want you to look in the mirror and get used to seeing yourself in a pattern" which sounds poncey but did work. Although said skirt just wasn't right so I didn't buy it. But I am now prepared to consider things that are not black. Having said that, 3 of the six items I bought ARE black.

John Lewis personal shopper tomorrow, will report on that too. Emerged into the throngs of people and thought, ewww, I wouldn't have come home with anything if I'd have shopped alone, I detest shopping.

This is the weekend we're going away so I have a hairdressers appt later too.

Just ate yummy noodles with chillis, prawns, baby sweetcorn, carrots, sesame oil, soy and lime, it was lovely.

Oh and the other 3 things, 1 is beige, 1 is mushroom, 1 is brown! So I didn't veer too wildly.

enjoy the hotel www! Are you doing the personal shopping in London? (I have realised I actually don't know where most people live on this thread!).

tortoise - I love hush puppy shoes. They are amazingly comfortable - your shoes look fab.

Sobernow - have you got a tracking number - I can't remember how special del works but ours sometimes comes separately, sometimes with the postie.

I am doing OK on the food front but did scoff a packet of mini cheddars and have opened the cheesy Tortilla crisp things but have only succumbed to eating 5 of them so far arrghh. Have people coming round later so all my goodness will be wiped out in one swoop, I'm sure.

marina - do you need my email address?

hope you have good weather Kate.
