Blue denim, over t-shirt and trainers. I'm average /petite size . I'm 37 tho - is this a massive no-no...??!!!

Okay, okay, I have read the whole thread and now I have ordered these ...

dungarees

I have been wanting a pair for about twelve months now, last winter I bought a navy cord pinafore dress from Tu which I love but I struggle to wear it when the weather is too warm for tights as it is a tiny bit short on my 5'8" frame. I also bought and returned some navy cord dungarees from eBay as they were way to short so I am hoping these will be long enough and versatile being blue denim.

Thanks to everyone who has posted pics already - I haven't seen one pic on this thread which made me think that person should not be wearing dungarees! Sometimes we are all too hard on ourselves.

Well I kept my hush ones. They are a teensy bit neat on me but I am on the 5:2 so that will sort that. They look fine from the front and back. I got them in black.

My Fatface ones; quite baggy round the legs but keeping as I wanted looser round waist/hips. In my heart of hearts I know they’re not flattering but they’re just so comfortable I love them and I don’t care!

They all look great! Love the dunga revolution!!

Ellapaella · 22/04/2018 22:20

Molly where are yours from please?

Hoosh · 23/04/2018 09:14

Yay! Love seeing everyone in theirs Grin

Hoosh · 23/04/2018 09:16

Coriander the Fatface ones are really comfy, aren't they? I can't believe I never bought dungarees before. Jeans with no waistband - win-win!

Strongarms27 · 23/04/2018 10:04

Oh I REALLY want a pair... But I've literally just had a baby and I should probably wait a bit until I'm more my normal size...

Hoosh · 23/04/2018 10:22

Strongarms I reckon dungarees would be perfect post-baby clothes! No waistband to dig in, you can wear any kind of tops underneath them, easy to access all areas if you're breastfeeding. And if you like them you can buy some new ones if you need to once your body changes.

Strongarms27 · 23/04/2018 10:51

Hoosh you've twisted my arm... Asos tall seems to work for me, and I prefer baggy to tight especially now. Ordering now!!

Hoosh · 23/04/2018 11:31

Yay! Grin

Bluesheep8 · 23/04/2018 12:39

OK reading this has made me NEED some in my life! I've got a short denim dungarees dress/panafore which I love...how should the fit be with dungarees though? I'm petite and tend to wear skinnier so don't want anything too baggy..

Bluesheep8 · 23/04/2018 12:40

They look fab on Jesus! I want some like that

WildwestWind · 23/04/2018 12:54

Oh I'm so envious of you all. I spent my first pregnancy living in a pair of mothercare turquoise dungarees. Had a bubble perm hairstyle too and put on a shed load of weight. Words fail me to describe just how awful I looked but I love dungarees and wish I could obliterate my memory and start again. You all look lovely.

Bluesheep8 · 23/04/2018 17:07

Hadn't seen all the other pics, you all look great. I'm getting some!

Figgygal · 25/04/2018 13:02

Fat face ones arrived but if I adjust the straps up to make the buttons not look like nipple tassels the crotch is a bit strained for want of a better word. Think they might need to go back and look at the asos tall ones as it has cemented in my mind I want some

figgygal they look fab! I want some

Ellapaella · 25/04/2018 13:32

Figgy they look really nice. I tried on a really nice pair in Hollister yesterday, decided they weren't for me (Just didn't sit quite right over my tum) but they were really nice if anyone is thinking of getting some.

Figgygal · 02/05/2018 16:24

Fuck it I've decided to keep the fat face ones and buy the asos ones

Hoosh · 02/05/2018 18:40

Figgy they look ace!

I've got 2 pairs of the Fatface ones (I hate shopping so much that when I find something I like I just buy 2 of them) but had the opposite issue as the body was too long (I suspect you may be taller than me Smile)

I unpicked the stitching and separated the top and bottom halves, removed some of the bottom half and hand-stitched them back together again, so now they look exactly the same but with two side buttons at the hips instead of three. It's the perfect crime.

IrisApfelRocks · 09/05/2018 19:34

I always loved dungarees on other people but thought I d look like an overgrown toddler with a camel toe in one. But I finally got one and I kinda like them so definitely keeping! Wore them out today for my husband's birthday lunch 😊 Those are Levi's via TKMAXX £24.99 down from £90

Looking good Iris

Hoosh · 16/05/2018 13:21

Y'know, I haven't seen a single pic on here yet that's not looked ace. Dungarees are the future Grin
