I found some really nice perfume minis in Tk Maxx yesterday by Abahna. A 10 ml mini of Frangipani Orange blossom plus a Rose & Lilac mini. I think £5.99 each. They’re made from natural oils and smell divine and just perfect on my 13 year old.
Bluebell I’m so glad you found your Bois de Iles. I believe you can buy it online in the uk now. Directly from the Chanel website if anyone else is looking for any exclusives.
Does anyone have any Zoologist samples they would like to swop for some of mine?
I have loads!!
Sotd will be either Hiram green Dilettante or eau d Hadrien.
VioletWillow no, carry on posting !

AlexisColbysFANCYfrock · 20/03/2018 09:52

Morning all.

Dowsers - I'd go for Oud Rosé privé de Armani and O de Lancôme from that list.

Fennel - jealous of your day off. FE students never strike, sadly And we never close for snow. I'm feeling very hard done by lately (until I remember two weeks off at easter and then its not so bad Grin).

I'm in Sisley Izia today, which I blind bought when it first came out. Its a good Spring and early summer perfume, so I'm projecting a bit really, seeing as its freezing and grey here. Zingy citrus and rose. Cheerful enough.

Amouage PP dupes have joined my list of what I'm buying next time I have a spare few bob Grin. I've asked DH for Diorissimo for my birthday, and I'm thinking I might go for the Bloom Nose Club 6 month subscription as a birthday treat to myself. So that's quite enough self-enabling for now!

AlexisColbysFANCYfrock · 20/03/2018 09:54

VioletWillow - Welcome...and STAY. Its great here Grin.

Dowser · 20/03/2018 10:12

Thank you alexis. I’ll see if we get chance to swing by the supermarket on way to beach 👍

UnnecessaryFennel · 20/03/2018 10:48

No, violet don't re-lurk, we are very lovely here, stay and chat!

fancy I would totally go for Diorissimo as a birthday present and am also very, very tempted by the bloom subscription...it's not my birthday for ages though so I will have to stick with self-enabling for the time being!

So I have Amouage Opus I on my left wrist. this opened for me with a big hit of plum and lily-of-the-valley. I'm now getting a sandalwood/tonka base, but there's also quite a lot of soapyness. It's good; I don't know if it's me though.

Opus 2 on my right wrist which I really liked sprayed on a strip yesterday, but its almost totally disappeared already! It opens as a lovely lavender fougere, but now I'm just getting a cedary base and not much else.

Jury is currently out on both.

Disclaimer: I am still full of cold so really in no position to be offering an opinion on anything fragrant, except perhaps steam inhalations and Vapo-Rub. But I'm obsessed, so... Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/03/2018 11:53

SOTD right now is the PP dupe for Boadicea the Victorious - Blue Sapphire . It's interesting, can really smell the sage and the patchouli. Strong enough that i can smell it on my wrists without having to lift them to my nose at all. I only bought a 3ml roller bottle but this might be worthy of a bigger bottle

LibertyBlue · 20/03/2018 13:26

On course today so just popping in with SOTD- Zoologist Humingbird, musky floral with vanilla. Like this a lot

positivepineapple · 20/03/2018 13:53

Miller Harris have popped up with a social media offer today.

Spring15 for 15% off.

Smile
PerfumeIsAMessage · 20/03/2018 14:29

Interesting list Dowser, I can confirm the Superdrug Mandarin and Lime Basil is lovely, touch of the Eau du Suds about it (probably the lime) Doesn't last long but at a fiver, so what, you can spray all day.

I am in vintage Vent Vert but next to me, and about to be chucked in the bin in horror is Pell Wall Devana on a strip. Jeez what a clashy brassy horror. It smells like cheap, strong aftershave and it's given me a headache. Very few perfumes do that. It's got that fly spray meets 1970s men's aftershave thing going on and is a big miss. Of the 4 scent samples I ordered (plus the one you get free) I have been sent the same sample twice (1953) and my free sample is 1953 for men. So, Pell Wall at the moment is not getting the love from me. Just hoping the others are nicer than this monster.

Ollivander84 · 20/03/2018 15:07

No perfume today Shock
I'm burning some amazing wax melts though so not devoid of scent!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/03/2018 17:55

I have this : (Notes similar to that found in Complex - Boadicea the Victorious ®)
Top Notes: Resin, Sage, Basil
Middle Notes: Incense, Violet, Leather
Base Notes: Agarwood (oud), Olibanum, Musk

in a 3ml roller ball bottle if anyone wants it, I really don't like it and it was much too overpowering for me. I can appreciate the scent as it were but I can't wear it, it's just too much for me. Happy to post it on to anyone who would like it

CountFosco · 20/03/2018 18:07

SotD Doe in the Snow. This is the only peachy perfume I like. It's probably the aldehydes and oakmoss and green tea that does it for me. It doesn't have a lot of sillage but the longevity is great.

AlexisColbysFANCYfrock · 20/03/2018 18:46

I love Doe in the Snow, Count. Although I do love many peach perfumes!

SOTE is Apres l’Ondee. Feel like I’m coming down the lurgies so needed something soft and soothing.

VioletWillow · 20/03/2018 18:54

Thanks all, I love this corner of Mumsnet so do read here often - I never knew there was so much science and geekery in perfume! Fascinating.
Perfumeisamessage- I haven't been blown away by the Pell Wall either tbh, the freebie I got was relaxed repose, it's OK as a pillow spray but no more than that. I like the gin and lime, although it didn't last long on me - I was underwhelmed by the Pretty in Pink.
Sote, 4160 Dirty Honey. Delicious. Shame it doesn't waft everywhere, but otherwise it is just marvellous! I need to find a perfume mule to store up bottles of cheap 9mls for when I come back to the UK for a visit 😀

mrsreynolds · 20/03/2018 19:10

Sote sexiest scent

auberginesrus · 20/03/2018 19:24

Hi all, SOTD was Oriane, has made me smile all day despite some trying (work) circumstances.

Liberty I like the sound of Hummingbird - haven't tried that one.

That Miller Harris offer is v tempting, as I love my Etui Noir sample but I just can't! Far too near the end of the month and I dread to think how much I have spent on perfume so far...

MrsGruber · 20/03/2018 19:36

Sad Bad outcome at work today. Even Coromandel couldn't swing it. Gin and cake needed tonight.

At least the Postie has been. Two sub-fiver bargains; a set of Gres miniatures. Worth it to acquire another 7.5ml of Eau de Gres, scent of my youth, which set me up for a lifetime of mandarin appreciation.

Also some Molinard Lavande. On first squirt I thought this was a mistake. Pure wardrobe interior (and not in an interesting aromatic Lion Cupboard sort of way). Forgot about it and sniffed again 20 minutes later and a rather lovely base of vanilla, musk and tonka is coming through underneath. Almost smells like there is heliotrope too - but it's not listed. Perhaps it's the benzoin? Anyway, the lavender stops the base being to smooth and sweet. Pretty much perfect as a comforting, sleep-inducing bedtime fragrance.

Hello Violet!

Dowser what did you go for. Probably too late but I was going to say Don't get the Lovely dupe - the real thing is already very cheap!

Seems to be growing love for Zoologist samples - I've only got teeny bloom ones that don't last very long. Are there any good sample sets?

SotD was Caleche. My kind of chypre!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 20/03/2018 19:40
