You probably know the drill by now - come and join us and to talk about perfume. We're friendly and smell lovely.

No worries liberty, will sort out a sample when I get back. Love Glasgow, it's a great city. DP lived there for many years and it's where we will be getting married. I'd quite happily live there too actually, once ds is older and has finished school. And yes, we have indeed got many, many tunes for the journey, can't manage several hours on the motorway without them! Grin

LibertyBlue · 04/04/2018 22:45

That does sound like a hidden blessing mrsG. I’ve just clicked on Fennel’s link and am now selecting 4 Maison Francis Kurkdjian perfumes for delivery Confused have no idea how that’s happened, wasn’t planning to buy. In my defence, I find his perfumes very long lasting, 14 Euros ain’t a lot AND I luffs him

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/04/2018 22:45

That's odd MrsG, it's working ok for me. Perhaps your computer is saving you from yourself, though? Wink

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/04/2018 22:48

From that list of sample sets, has anyone ever tried any Kerosene perfumes? They look interesting in a DS & Durga/Imaginary Authors/Slumberhouse way, but I'm not sure whether they might be a bit style over substance...

MrsGruber · 04/04/2018 22:49

That's the legit address, right?

Ugh
Woken up with a horrid headache so sotd might have to be something gentle
I nearly bought the JHAG set last night...but I resisted.
Spent far too much this month on boring stuff like carpets and bedding 😣

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/04/2018 08:31

SOTD is Feu Follet. I really love this, definitely FB-worthy.

We're on the road, sun is shining, 6music on the radio, lovely wafts of FF, all good.

Hope you feel better soon mrsr

mrsreynolds · 05/04/2018 08:35

Have a lovely trip fennel x

mrsreynolds · 05/04/2018 08:35

I might crack out the PP rive gauche

MrsGruber · 05/04/2018 09:25

Morning All.

I have been thinking about the Big Sniff and The Perfume Sociey. I see their site now has an Our Services section where they offer industry bodies access to panels and groups (based on the local perfume smelling groups that have apparently been established) as a market research resource, including using on-line survey tools to capture feedback.

Think one of us was going to have a conversation with TPS about establishing us as a virtual group? Can't remember what happened next? I've contacted them twice in the past about establishing a local group but they didn't reply to me on either occasion so I'm curious about this.

Still in Drole d Rose from last nights bedtime scent. Don’t know what to wear today. It’s cold and very sunny and my daffodils and hyacinths have suddenly bloomed. I guess it will be something with hyacinth and narcissus then Smile.
I also have issues with the Tauer website for some reason. This means I’ve never tried Laddm. Carillon Pour Ange is stunning though and my sample very kindly sent to me in a swop has lasted me 3 years.
Its that powerful!

auberginesrus · 05/04/2018 12:47

Morning everyone, SOTE last night was Imaginary Authors Violet Disguise (thanks Fennel) which I thought was lovely, but has sadly been discontinued. I'll enjoy using the rest of my sample though.

Lazy morning today as feeling a bit under the weather. Just put on some 100 bon Cedre & Iris Soyeux and my 4160s order arrived! So now have a spray of Silk, Lace & Chocolate on the back of my hand Smile. Its very chocolately, but I'm enjoying it so far. Seems a good cuddling up on the sofa scent as others have said. Still got my samples of Goodbye Piccadilly and Tokyo Spring Blossom to smell, and also got a freebie sample of Eau My Soul which I've wanted to try for ages.

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 05/04/2018 13:13

It's all well and good finding these sample sets but where do I find a "free" credit card?! Grin

Blue I got the Fragrances in Wonderland set which is 3 x 30ml bottles. Anyone who did get it on TKMaxx got a great deal - I hadn't realised but the boxes are numbered and only 750 of them. ELDO won't post them either, It's collection only. Nice box though - possibly picture attached, if it works!!

Count glad you got the HF in one piece. Certainly is fresh!! No rush on the MG sample though Smile

Seriously though, all these samples!!! April is expensive anyway - Easter, school hols and DS1 birthday but now I want the JHAG and ELDO sample sets. Seem like very good value. AND I've just realised that True Lust, which has been £50 for 100ml on TKMaxx for a while now is a mix of Putain des Palaces and Dangerous Complicity. Argh!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 05/04/2018 13:14

Yep, attachment didn't work. Blush

LibertyBlue · 05/04/2018 13:19

SOTD is Naomi Goodsir Iris Cendre - a sample from Bloom. Glad I’m giving this another run out as I’m really enjoying it today- it’s a very dry papery Iris. Quite satisfying.

The sun is shining here and it’s probably time to put the iris perfumes away. I feel that I should be wearing something citrusy- I have 4160 London 1969 in my pocket for later, but enjoying the Iris too much for now.

MrsG I’ll contact TPS about setting up a virtual perfume group so we can get in on the action!

Aubergine I think you might be my scent twin! What’s the 100 Bon like? Worth hunting down?

Thanks Fennel for the link last night. Never knew MFK did samples - and so cheap too. I have just ordered 8 including two extraits (a generous 2ml each) for £25 delivered. Much cheaper than eBay. Can’t wait, I expect them to be marvellous (did I mention Francis Kurkdjian is my favourite nose?!)

My SOTE was also supplied by Fennel on the last big swap. Lab on fire what happened in Paris is secret. It’s a grown up gourmand with lots of wood. Really enjoyed wearing it.

LibertyBlue · 05/04/2018 13:28

Oh Cheap that’s swoon worthy

auberginesrus · 05/04/2018 13:28

Liberty - I think its lovely, very wearable and balanced between the iris and cedar, with an incense base note. Very unisex. I prefer it to the MH Terre d'Iris I tried yesterday, although after a couple of hours that was gorgeous. Lasts about 4 hours on me. I'll happily send you some, but will need to order some funnels and atomisers on ebay so just give me the nod.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/04/2018 14:33

that looks fantastic cheap very envious! Envy

couldn't decide on what to wear so closed my eyes and picked and ended up in Modern Muse Chic. Love that it's all musk and white flowers, I am a huge white flowers fan, they probably just beat everything else to be my favourite scents. I know some people find white flower scents screechy and too much but i just love them!

OCSockOrphanage · 05/04/2018 14:52

Whooah! You have been marching on without me.

I too need a free credit card. Especially this morning, as I paid for new varifocal lenses (got new frames a couple of months ago but have been waiting to "save up" for the expensive bits of glass) Do NOT ask how much; total cost would easily pay for 4 or 5 expensive full bottles! And Blush DS and I have gone halves on the most spectacular light overcoat ever, in a sale. We both have to ADORE it though, or it will be returned.

Today's scent trial is Peony Wonderland from Floral London, which is a bit fruit salad for my nose, but as peonies are unscented but full of blowsy glamour, I suppose it allows the nose unfettered access to the sweetie jar. Rather relieved I don't love it, but so far it's only the Poppy that has moved me, and that reminds me of Floral Gums.

positivepineapple · 05/04/2018 14:59

Cheap That looks lovely!! I too am envious. I never see ELDO in store and I'm crap at checking the website often.

SOTD is Elie Saab L'eau Couture.
It's a beautifully sunny, yet fresh day here and this suits well. I love the warm soapy note from the almond & vanilla, it sounds like it would be tooth achingly sweet but it's not. The longevity and silage are impressive for an EDT.

OCSockOrphanage · 05/04/2018 15:06

I bought two of the ELdO sample sets (one for a friend's birthday when she was between favourite scents), but they didn't come in that splendid box! There were several I liked - Apres midi d'un Faune was one, and Fat Electrician too, but it didn't include Rossy de Palma which was the one I wanted to try.

Motoko · 05/04/2018 15:24

teta I think it was Roullier White that I got my sample of LADDM from. They had a few Tauers.

mrsreynolds · 05/04/2018 15:38

That box is gorgeous

Now in 4610 sunshine and pancakes

mrsreynolds · 05/04/2018 16:05

Sigh
I've done bad thing...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/04/2018 16:12

oh no, what terrible terrible thing have you gone and done mrsR?
