You probably know the drill by now - come and join us and to talk about perfume. We're friendly and smell lovely.

Sounds good One! Seem to remember that being a hit with LT.

This is the best thing about perfume. You can pick up critically acclaimed things for the price of a coffee and a bun, but they last much longer, and, if you get bored, you can usually sell them on. [Smile]

A gorgeous little package arrived this morning from liberty, thank you!

Am now in Annick Goutal Sables, which is perfect for this grim grey weather we're having, being spicy immortelle and amber. It solved the problem of what to wear this morning beautifully Smile

LibertyBlue · 03/04/2018 10:24

At last your package arrived Fennel - long delay due to BHs. You’re welcome Wink Hopefully Sock’s will arrive shortly too.

SOTD Iris Rebelle by Atelier Cologne- back on the Iris train. Love this, so dry and rooty - it’s yummy!

MrsGruber · 03/04/2018 11:19

Sables is on my hit list!

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/04/2018 11:36

It's gorgeous MrsG but heavy on the immortelle so could be a bit Marmitey for some. Right I up your street though I reckon!

mrsreynolds · 03/04/2018 12:56

Sotd obsession

Pp order arrived...rive gauche and paloma Picasso. Both great 😁

Still awaiting my 4610 order.

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 03/04/2018 14:07

Happy Easter Perfumistas, sorry that is a bit belated! It doesn't feel like Easter, it's bloody freezing here

mrsreynolds · 03/04/2018 16:09

I'm assuming the empty bottles are used for props?
Filled with Apple juice or somesuch?

OCSockOrphanage · 03/04/2018 17:24

Thank you to Liberty! Your little packet arrived today, so I broke into the Merchant of Venice Safron, which started as very structured heavy safron, almost to the point of being quite antiseptic, and has dried down into a fragrant honeyed safron. Almost as though it had been used in a savoury, then a sweet recipe.

MrsGruber · 03/04/2018 19:23

Jovan Musk Oil for £3 on Cocosa but not sure what the delivery charges are like?

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 03/04/2018 19:31

Hmmm... quite partial to coffee and buns too Blush Could probably swap the buns but coffee is an essential...

SotD was Jade. Glad you lot raved about this one- really is nice Grin Missed my Bloom delivery though...

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/04/2018 19:44

SOTD is Avery E. floofy I was back in clothed ankles today. And faux fur. In April. Hope you’re okay?

I am in a state of high anxiety as I have the dentist tomorrow. I’m booked in for a checkup and scale and polish, and am terrified she’s going to find something else wrong.

pestilentialboundary · 03/04/2018 19:45

Coffee and bun perfume.

MrsGruber · 03/04/2018 19:52

Pest - when I saw the quince note listed I was hoping this would be coffee and bun prices but I see 100ml is $428 Shock

Laiste · 03/04/2018 20:27

I've ordered it mrsG! Thank you :) Delivery was a fiver, so all good. I'll update when i receive it.

(Just looking at the dresses on Cocosa now. Some good bargains!)

Calmwhoknows · 03/04/2018 21:14

I hope everyone had a good Easter, smelling lovely 💕!

Pest, I know you resisted the Vivienne Westwood Boudoir in TKMaxx. Did you know it’s on sale at Allbeauty for £19.95 (50 mls)? Postage costs extra but is free if you spend £20 (well it would be, wouldn’t it?!)

mrsr, as promised I tested the PP Blackberry & Bay in case it had deteriorated in storage somehow. On me, it definitely lasts 3-4 hrs, becoming just a slight skin scent for a couple of hours after that. I think you must have hungry skin! Love the wallpaper and chair btw. You will definitely have to wear Insolence to match the colour! 💜

Fancy I love your perfume collection - it’s so interesting to see everyone’s stashes.

Cheap, I love 4160’s Eat Flowers, especially the iris hit. Oh, and course the flower-themed bottle!

Talking about iris, Blue, I tried Atelier Cologne’s Iris Rebelle and really loved it, like you. After a long procession of pleasant Atelier samples with no longevity, the IR was in a different league.

mrsreynolds · 03/04/2018 21:17

calm...I think I do have greedy skin 😁 even hard hitters like opium etc are gone after a few hours

Sote sexiest scent

Just impatiently awaiting my 4610 order...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 03/04/2018 21:48

perfume does seem to last ages on me, way past the point that i can no longer smell it on myself. Maybe it depend son how oily or dry your skin is or something?

SOTD was mens Hugo Boss Dark Blue, I don't quite know why i like this so much but i do really enjoy it, its VERY masculine to start with but soon simmers down into a nice deep slightly vanillary scent. Not as sweet as womens fragrance tends to be with the same ingredients but very nice all the same

Calmwhoknows · 03/04/2018 21:58

My sister and I have been testing more iris perfumes:

Poudre de Riz (Huitienne Art)
I found the opening a bit strong - a lot of benzoin and tonka, but then it sweetened up with the vanilla, rice and floral notes. My sister also got rose and rice pudding! I didn’t get rose particularly but the drydown was really very nice and lasted a long time, probably 4-5 hrs, but mainly as a skin scent. Probably not full-bottle worthy for me, though!

O Unknown (Imaginary Authors)
I enjoyed this one. I got wispy smoke, parchment paper, smoky tea and dry iris. There was something else quite intriguing, a sort of dry, inky mineral smell. The drydown went a bit sweeter and very wearable, but with no florals at all. Lasted probably 3-4 hrs with some skin scent after that. I didn’t think at first I would want a full bottle, because it is so different, but I keep thinking about it. Decisions, decisions!

Yesterday Haze (Imaginary Authors)
The perfume is lovely, a very wearable gourmand - fruity sweet figs, nuts and cream, but not too sickly sweet. The drydown is delightful. It reminded my sister of the ‘mini with your coffee’ dessert they have in Pizza Express - figs with cinnamon spiced syrup in mascarpone...she said it’s as gorgeous as the perfume!!! Not much sillage but long lasting.

We are intending to go to Blooms in a few days’ time and each intend to buy some perfume from lovely Olga, but still haven’t decided which one. Several of the samples have been full bottle worthy and we still have some more to try from the Zoologist range.

positivepineapple · 03/04/2018 22:25

MrsR I've been thinking about longevity a lot recently. I've been trying harder to pick out the notes and noticed that I also eat scent.
I have quite dry skin and I do find if I moisturise with a good body lotion or oil beforehand my scent does last a lot longer.

But all the ones that I like are scented already, can anyone recommend a non scented intensive body moisturiser or oil?

Floofy hope you're doing ok? I have now purchased an MG Lemon in the purse size and the 50ml. However I'm now questioning do I also need the cherry fb? I think I do Smile

Judy I have also had a few bare ankle instances this past week, I'm desperate for spring to finally arrive. The few fleeting hours of sun we've had is just not enough! Feeling sorry for those that had more snow!

Calm what's your experience of All Beauty? Some of their prices seem too good to be true!

Also on the note of bottles, did anyone see the "Vintage Chanel Christian Dior" empty bottle on Ebay? That made me chuckle

mrsreynolds · 03/04/2018 22:32

Pineapple...I like aveeno...oil and lotion

auberginesrus · 03/04/2018 22:52

Pineapple glad you asked the question about moisturiser, as I have been meaning to, and I think I have some Aveeno in the back of the cupboard somewhere.

Floofy hope your RL issues are soon sorted.

SOTD has been PW Girl again as I had taken it away with me. Had a 4.5 hour journey to get home today (instead of usual 2 hours) due to a motorway accident so didn't get to Poundland but should be able to get there tomorrow.

I'm off work all week, so looking foward to having a good go on my testers. This evening I've tried Air du Desert Marocain which is absolutely gorgeous. Smells so warm and beautiful, I've fallen head over heels in love with it. Need to do some ebaying and saving up...

Calmwhoknows · 03/04/2018 22:54

I use Aveeno, too, the green one, “moisturising cream with colloidal oatmeal for dry and sensitive skin”. But I do have various scented ones that I can match to the scent I’m wearing, eg rose, almond oil, fig.

I’ve ordered several times from Allbeauty and have never had a problem.

auberginesrus · 03/04/2018 22:59

Love the sound of those Imaginary Authors scents Calm, your descriptions are excellent! Mine are rubbish - I still can't discern notes very easily - especially in fragrances I like - I'm better at being able to pick out those notes I don't like.
