Oh, and my Mary Greewells have arrived! Grin

Love Plum. Gorgeous! Right up my street and definitely a keeper.

I'm not sure about Lemon. I'll have to wear it a few more times to get a better feel for it. Started off like fizzy lemon sherbet sweets, then had a nostril-tickling lemon fairy liquid phase and is now quite heavy oak moss.

WhateverTakesYaFancy · 04/04/2018 15:32

(and never mind the weight of the bottles...that gold lid is like a bloody cannonball! Jeez) Grin

mrsreynolds · 04/04/2018 17:50

Just ordered a couple of Valentinos from PP.
Oh dear 😣

WhateverTakesYaFancy · 04/04/2018 17:53

mrsr - glad you liked Sunshine and Pancakes. I didn't commit to FB either as didn't think Id wear it enough, but I also thought it was unusual and really good.

mrsreynolds · 04/04/2018 18:04

It's lovely fancy but too gourmand for me I think
I will def wear it in summer though...if summer ever arrives 😣

mrsreynolds · 04/04/2018 19:28

Sote sexiest scent
4610 are doing a masterclass nearish me on 22nd...
Oooh

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 04/04/2018 19:29

Evening!

Sounds like the Aveeno might do the trick but for excellent moisturisers I'd give a shout for First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream. First had it in the Look Fantastic Advent Calendar and as it's child friendly tried it on DS2 who has eczema on his leg which frequently bled. Was amazing and his skin is really lovely at the moment.

Calm the drydown to Eat Flowers is sublime!

My ELDO set came today. Lordy I'm so in love!!! Have only had a quick spray of each but Jasmine et Cigarette so far wins out over Rome 1963 for me. The cigarette note is a very distinct unlit papery cigarettte smell and it takes turns with the Jasmine for prominence. Not sure how to describe the Divin Enfant yet, other than gorgeous. Didn't get coffee which I'd thought was a note so it took me off guard. Need another go...

SotD was Cheryl Cole Stormflower. Actually quite enjoyable in a fruity shower gel way.

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 04/04/2018 19:30

Ooh, also got sample of You or Someone Like You and Eau De Protection (is that what it's called?)

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/04/2018 19:32

SOTD is JHAG Mad Madame. My dentist was off sick, so my appointment was cancelled. Cue another week of anxiety.

It has been snowing here again today. WTF is going on with the weather?

auberginesrus · 04/04/2018 19:34

Glad you liked it Cheap (sort of)

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 04/04/2018 19:45

Sorry to hear that Judy.

And sorry Aubergines!! It's lovely though isn't it, and feels ideal for after the rain too...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 04/04/2018 19:59

judy how is MAd MAdame? i really want to try it but feel like it's a lot of money to spend on a blind buy. That said I am the queen of blind buying but usually only relatively cheap stuff, i get a bit scared of spending a lot of money on something i've never tried

CountFosco · 04/04/2018 20:04

SotD was Panda (reformulation). Think I prefer it slightly to the old formulation which was just a bit masculine for me. Or maybe I was expecting it to be masculine and so this time it seemed more unisex.

Got home late after working until 10pm last night I was in from 8am to 6pm today with hardly a break. My two leads are on holiday this week and they have not properly properly prepped for the week so I've been planning the expts for the junior staff because none of them are experienced enough to do it themselves, writing the presentations the leads should have written themselves before Easter and dealing with a consultant who is showing the customer he is worth his massive fee by asking 101 pointless questions. Sigh. I think I deserve a sherry.

I did come home to something nice though, a Travelo of Herba Fresca which obviously I had to spray immediately. The mint top note makes WIDOMH's top mint note seem like a wooze! It's the freshest zingiest perfume ever. I feel like I've brushed my teeth! It's almost swimming pool like (in a good way, I love swimming). I can see how this would be incredible on a hot summers day. I'm getting citrus and some green tea as well which adds some depth. Looking forward to this developing over the evening. Thanks Cheap. I now have to apologise to you and Socks for not yet posting your packages. I'm a bad perfumista. I'll PM you when I've done it.

MrsGruber · 04/04/2018 20:23

One - JhaG discovery set. 15 Euros for 8 samples including Mad Madame. (Not a perfume is 4ml plus 7 x 1.7ml).

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/04/2018 20:34

one I did the discovery set a few years ago - there were more than eight then though - and would highly recommend it. I can remember a lot of rosy patchouli type scents, which is right up my street. I got a full bottle of Miss Charming at the end, then bought Mad Madame - which is a wee bit similar to Heeley Hippie Rose - last year.

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/04/2018 20:35

Oh, and I don’t have anything to decant into, but happy to whack some on a card and send some to you.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 04/04/2018 20:36

oooh i didn't know there was a sample set! i'll look into getting that i think Smile

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/04/2018 21:16

Def do the set, one - I think you can redeem the cost of it against a full bottle. I went through a phase where I did that one, then the ELDO one, then the Serge Lutens one over a few months and wore a different scent every singke day for weeks. (Except Secretions Magnifique, that had to go in the outside bin - I couldn’t bear having it in the house once I had sniffed it!)

positivepineapple · 04/04/2018 21:21

Great enabling there MrsG sample pack ordered 🙈

When I picked up my click and collect from TFS earlier I spotted JHAG, I was desperate to sniff but I'm awful at impulse buying if you hadn't already figured that out.

Also I did spot Pharell Girl at £19.50 for 100ml, does work out more expensive than Poundland but you get the nice bottle Smile

SOTE is MG Lemon, layered on my Aveeno moisturiser - which I'm loving so far btw.

LibertyBlue · 04/04/2018 22:17

SOTD Bottega Veneta EDP- lovely Italian leather, dry and woody, reminds me of iris. I think Iris can be quite leather-like. I have been too busy to post - I’ve missed lots of excitement on thread today!

Oops sorry Fennel what have I done?! (And teta too Shock) Enjoying yours and Sock’s reviews of Byzantium Saffron, I think it’s quite an unusual fragrance. I do seem drawn to saffron as a note. Please report back on the MoV trial kit Fennel as it looks gorgeous! Enjoy the mini Tauer’s too- love those little tins

Floofy hope you are doing better today. Your posts always make me smile Smile

Calm enjoying your Bloom reviews (keep em coming) and very jealous of your upcoming visit- ensure you have plenty of time to narrow down the selection. It’s going to be tricky to pick one! You could get a Brocard as an extra - they’re only £20 ish. Funny that you have not mentioned any of the Iris’s I got from Bloom. How many do they have?!

Cheap long forward to your Eldo reviews- how much was the set? You get 20 something don’t you? What a haul! Are they sprays?

MrsR yep I reckon we share some similar tastes although you’re more selective than me (I’m a bit free and easy with my ‘love this and that’ Grin)

Judy hope the outcome of the dentist visit next week will be positive and you’re finally discharged!

Aubergine would you recommend seeking out MH Terre D’Iris? Is it a particularly good one?

MrsG I agree the JHAG set is a good buy. I like Lady Vengeance best (not surprising as it’s a Francis Kurkdjian).

LibertyBlue · 04/04/2018 22:18

Phew - sorry for the marathon post. There was a LOT to cover

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/04/2018 22:30

That's weird, typed a post and it's completely disappeared. Anyway... here is a good list of houses that do sample sets if anyone fancies a little bit of spending...quite US-based but plenty that will ship to the UK/Europe too.

SOTE is PHI - Une Rose de Kandahar. This opens with a very warm, fuzzy almond and apricot accord, with that 'baby oil' vibe that reminds me of L'AP Skin on Skin. I'm not getting a lot of rose so far, and it's not as blissfully narcotic as LADDM or Une Rose Chypree, for example, but it is soft and lovely and musky and, of course, beautiful quality.

Liberty I'm happy to send you some Terre d'Iris if you'd like to try it? I really like it - I agree with aubergines that it's not mindblowing but it's an excellent (imo) wearable everyday perfume and will be lovely for the spring.

Off to Glasgow tomorrow for a few days...for some reason we've decided to drive Hmm so an early start beckons!

MrsGruber · 04/04/2018 22:33

Off to collect my Arrogant Cat from TFS tomorrow. Will report back...

People who've found Girl in Poundland - where exactly was it in store? (I have a big bottle, but if any does turn up locally I'd lay down stores for teen gifts).

OP posts:
LibertyBlue · 04/04/2018 22:37

Fennel ooh yes please to Terre D’Iris whenever you get the time to decant/ post (no rush). Enjoy Glasgow (never been but would like to one day). Hope you’v got some good tunes for the journey

MrsGruber · 04/04/2018 22:38

Maybe this is a blessing, but my antivirus software has seriously fallen out with Andy Tauer. It has tauerperfumes.com classified as a fraudulent site. Any ideas why?
