Hi on a look through the cupboard as for financial reasons I have to only now buy if I need it, I discovered 7 tubes of handcream, about 15 bottles of handgel, enough bars of soap to last me until the end of 2020, three deodorants, five bubble baths, two and a bit suncreams unused, two opened aftersuns, stuff to make hair wavy and stuff to make hair straight, couple of bottles of conditioner, and enough make up (I don't use a lot of make up so lasts ages) to last again until the end of 2020.

I thought it must just be me who had such a stash so looked in the search engine and found this thread. What a relief I am not alone after all 😀

Welcome newbies!

Great progress ladies!

Seem to have become addicted to buying body cream, but I must say: I am rather enjoying the new Nivea body mousse - on offer for £2.50 in Boots

I have an empty!

  • M&S Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream 15ml: I adore this stuff. Best night cream I have EVER used. Restocked at weekend as have come to an end of night cream stash! Yay!

One empty from me today: Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm.
This was a 5ml sample. I feel like I have had this for a long time (months), and I have quite enjoyed using it, but I am not willing to spend that amount of money on an eye cream.

ememem84 · 23/04/2018 14:04

Clarins sample mascara done.

CantChoose · 24/04/2018 21:16

I've finished an elemis sensitive face wash. It's a staple for me so I've already opened the new one.
I'm sure I've finished some other bits too but I can't think what they are. Oops.
DH has finished another antiperspirant with my encouragement Grin

suchatiredbunny · 24/04/2018 21:41

Cant qvc had a two pack of that sensitive wash on four months easy pay. I was very tempted, it's something of theirs I haven't tried.

RoseMartha · 25/04/2018 21:59

I used up a face wash and a shampoo on the same day . Now only have the new face wash I am using, no back ups in the cupboard. Can't say the same for the shampoo.

TeaAddict235 · 26/04/2018 19:09

Ooh @RoseMartha , well done! Which face wash and shampoo did you finish?

TeaAddict235 · 26/04/2018 19:10

Ooh @RoseMartha , well done! Which face wash and shampoo did you finish?

I bought a face cream for the kids that I'll be dipping in and out of too for a night cream and a hair leave in conditioner as my hair is quite dry at the mo.

IPokeBadgers · 26/04/2018 21:13

I don't know what people will think of this but something I have found useful to keep me motivated in is that I decant products from larger to smaller containers.

For example....instead of keeping the big 105g elemis cleansing balm in the bathroom I have decanted it into the smaller 30g tub. So I can see progress in using up by degrees, by more frequent "empties"...have also done it with big shower gels because I get bored and like to switch between different ones.

Am I totally odd? Or a total genius? 😅

@TeaAddict235 olay one it's about three pounds a tube usually lasts a couple of months but have tendency to buy more after I start the next one.
Shampoo was Alberto one which I also tend to bulk buy when they are on offer for two for £1.80.

I don't think I have any fancy stuff. Oh I do have a soap and glory bubble bath and a couple of Trevor Sorbie conditioners to use which is as expensive as it gets.

Strawberryfield12 · 27/04/2018 06:43

badgers I love that Elemis cleansing balm so much I wouldn’t care it would be one of those never ending and self breeding products most of us have encountered Grin

ememem84 · 27/04/2018 09:19

Used up a bar soap yesterday. Just Johnson’s baby soap nothing fancy but it’s lasted ages. Much longer than a shower gel. Have another 5 to use up.

IPokeBadgers · 28/04/2018 17:29

Strawberry I love the elemis balm too....but the big tub lasts soooo long, and I like to mix things up. Plus, I try not to keep too many products in the bathroom at anyone time.....have a notion the humidity probably speeds up bacteria growth so prefer smaller product sizes. I think I'm odd. 😊

IPokeBadgers · 28/04/2018 17:32

Oh, and two dead products.....a Lancome hypnose mascara and a tarte lights camera lashes mascara....both had been on the go for quite a while so were well used....not quite finished but going clumpy/gloopy and had been open for well over the recommended 3 months. Ahem.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/04/2018 17:39

I haven't started on my 4 pack of Korres showergels yet ( 50% off and 20% off that in M&S so bargain Grin ) saving them for a while.

I finished off an Aveeno apricot showergel...................and bought a SoaperDuper Almond one Blush

IPokeBadgers · 28/04/2018 18:45

70 - the korres set is one for you to look forward to 😊
I really wanted it but didn't succumb as I have so much shower gel it simply isn't funny!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/04/2018 20:23

IPoke - I tried the rose one, I liked the actual gel but I don't like rose that much.
I'm thinking about saving the blue (Vine) one for my holiday.............but Nah I'll use it before then. Grin

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 28/04/2018 20:46

Ooo korres at M&S??
Hi been away ages but managing to resist a great Elemis offer at my gym. Love the manoi stuff and balm. But did get Latest In Beauty box for shampoo/ shower gel (cos I really need more)/ lipstick/ mascara/ face mask. No shampoo in stash but lots of rest. When will I learn?!?

On a positive front, been working away at longest day things; Korean moisturiser from sooooo long ago, mint shower gel from years ago, coconut conditioner left behind from guest years ago, mango spf, navy eyeliner from Kiko (great and would really recommend), 3 perfume samples and a small body shop body butter in ginger all gone ( nice at first then ugh! Happy it is gone!). Trying to finish lipsticks as drawer spilling out! Eek!

suchatiredbunny · 28/04/2018 22:17

We have a few empties here, a St Ives scrub that I've used as a body scrub, and I finished DDs conditioner.....orange packaging, an Elvive 'dream lengths' or something which was quite nice (although she prefers one for curly hair). I've been through my make up bag and binned two Liz Earle lipsticks. I really liked these but they were too soft, the 'stick' moved as I put it on my lips so they always got caught in the tube as it twisted up/down and got messy. Maybe that's why they stopped making them. Binned a concealer, an old foundation sample and something else I can't remember.

DS has finished the Fresh Farmacy stuff from Lush so I need to get him some more, will buy myself a Celestial moisturiser while I'm in there as I really like it and it's much cheaper than Elemis He's finished tablets from the Dr who wants to see how it goes without them.....funnily enough the spots are coming back so I'll make him leave it a bit longer and see how bad they get before going back to the gp.

PurpleNailVarnish · 29/04/2018 17:09

I love the Korres vine one, it's one of my favourites.

This week I've used up:

A Clinique face wash sample.
It was ok but not as good as the much cheaper Tesco cucumber gel I used up just before. I'll buy it again when I've used up all my other face wash samples.

Aveda Shampure perfume.
I've already got another one, it's my favourite.

Max Factor mascara.
In black/brown. Again, I've already got another one that I'm using.

Body Shop hemp hand cream.
I've got more of this because it's my go-to.

I'm motoring my way through my samples from the last Space NK/Cult Beauty giveaways. The thing is that by my reckoning they'll both be doing another giveaway soon Wink

Strawberryfield12 · 29/04/2018 18:02

Have a number of empties from my midsummer list since last time on here:

  • Issey Miyake perfume. Actually very pleased about this one. DH gave it for Christmas years ago, wasn't too keen on it. Then he forgot all about it and gave another bottle following Christmas. Doh! Regifted unopened one and finally used this one.
-Bayliss and Harding shower gel. This mainly thanks to DD who has been having big blobs in her bath most of the nights.
  • Ameliorate body lotion. Liked the lotion, but the smell was quite odd.
-Clarins replenishing mask. Was all right. -Clinique moisture surge moisturizer. There have been so many good recommendations that I had very high hopes for it. Wasn't bad but in general I am not a fan of the light, gel like moisturizers. Give me the oily, heavy any time.

Had a good look through my stash this morning and decided to open Artistry lip gloss. It actually had built in lights in the cap. DH seems to be more advanced in this stuff, straight away pointed out that must be to use in night clubs. Never crossed my mind...

CantChoose · 29/04/2018 19:40

Slow progress here but I've finished a rose Korres shower gel.
I like this a lot but I prefer the santorini vine. I wish I'd known about the m&s offer though it's probably best I didn't!

RoseMartha · 29/04/2018 22:39

@ememem84
I buy bars of soap because of that reason they last way longer than a bottle of shower gel. Although I had a bottle for Christmas that I use sometimes.

I used a bar of dove up yesterday it lasted ages and I have 11 more bars left. Having bought 12 bars on offer at beginning of year. I used it until the very last sliver dissolved as I lathered it up to wash .

RiskIt4Biscuit · 02/05/2018 10:17

I have finally finished a TGel shampoo that had been lurking in the bathroom for a while. It works, but I did not like the scent and it made my hair greasy quicker than my usual shampoo.
Also finished a Dove original anti perspirant spray. I really liked this and it worked perfectly fine, but I prefer the invisible dry scent.

I have binned a small Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara that I got in a giftset - it looked really nice on, but smudged like crazy.
I also binned some old products; a matte nail topcoat and a brown lord and berry eyebrow pencil (must have been a gift with purchase) which was too red/warm for me.
