I've compiled my 21 For The Solstice list.....
Three of four of these literally have a day or two of product left in them so I should start making headway fairly quickly.
I must make the effort to moisturise more often after showering...... I tend not to bother until I am properly dry and flaky. It's not like I don't have gallons of the stuff kicking about either....it's just pure laziness.

My Elemis tsv came yesterday, only one product in it I won't use so that will find its way to eBay. This morning I saw they have a beauty event on with lots of things on four months easy pay so I might have ordered a couple more things.......

Em the pic of your DS on the beach on the other thread (I'm a lurker) was just gorgeous, he's very yummy. My eldest DS is 15 this week, the youngest was 10 a couple of weeks ago, (I have a DD in the middle) and I looked at your DS and remembered just how lovely and squishy mine were at that age. It goes quickly though, so soak him up while you can!

No empties here, although I have chucked out a Clinique mascara that's past it, also a concealer as the case had cracked, so that's two less products in the drawer. The shower on the other hand looks like an explosion in Boots.....DD has three conditioners in there, she and DS1 have different face products in there.......but I have ordered some Elemis sensitive face wash so I'm hoping that if it's good we can all use it which will help cut down the number of face products we have that I pay for Hmm

ememem84 · 15/04/2018 15:56

bunny thanks! I am savouring every second at present. We’ve got two weeks left and then it’s back to work. 😭 so I may relapse and buy all of boots on the first lunch break! Haha!

A mascara has gone today as empty. I have a few in the bag to use up.

IPokeBadgers · 15/04/2018 16:11

Finished up an eos lip balm....didn't bother scraping out the dregs because it's been on the go for such a long time it was probably loaded with germs. ..and I had several in the stash after I went a bit nuts buying them in Canada a couple years ago cos they were so cheap 😀

Experiment627 · 15/04/2018 18:22

I have a few empties:

  • Cosmia sweet almond shower and bath milk 750ml: not a strong enough smell of almonds for me but was as cheap as chips from a Spanish hypermarket
  • M&S Royal Jelly shower gel 100ml: liked this - may buy at some point in the future (this was from a Secret Santa)
  • M&S Royal Jelly body scrub 100ml: ok - I am not a big fan of scrubs

Another empty!!!

  • Gatineau melatogenie cream: from advent, rich but I prefer other (cheaper) creams

Have a great week everyone!

I have two more empties!!!!

  • Nutrafix Jojoba oil shampoo: a Pound shop find - not bad at all
  • Nutrafix Almond Oil conditioner: also as cheap as chips and a lovely smell and no nasty silicones - result!

Also may I just say I just showered in Molton Brown Gingerlily- this is the gold standard. Every shower gel I buy from now on will be with the aim of enjoying the whiff as much as I do with this product.

Clarins Multi Day Cream or something. Won’t buy (it was in a GWP my mum gave me). I used to be a big Clarins user. Now, I find its “like everything else”. There’s nothing of the unique plant based product “smell and feel” I remember in the 70’s/80’s. (I’m OLD). Anyway, I’ve got a few more to use so, have been using as a neck cream and slathering on, 2/3 times daily.

ememem84 · 17/04/2018 08:12

Boring deodorant finished today.

I popped into boots yesterday and was accosted by the Clinique lady. Ended up with a day moisturiser (which to be fair I will need after my clarins one has run out) a face wash and a eye gel (the latter both samples).

SukiTheDog · 17/04/2018 10:32

And that, @EmEm, is how. Easily. It happens! 😊

I’m not even a huge Clinique fan but was in Boots a few weeks ago to get City Block 40 and yes, they had a GWP. Now I’ve got all that to get through, as well!

CantChoose · 17/04/2018 22:15

I'm using that Gatineau cream at the moment too experiment. It would usually be too rich for me but I had a reaction to an eyeshadow the other day and my skin has been sensitive since. It's calmed it down nicely.
I've finished a Vichy 89 sample, this gets really good reviews but I didn't think it did a great deal.
Also finished a 'this works: in transit camera close up' which I used as a moisturiser / primer. I was a bit confused about how to use this to be honest. My make up looked nice with it but it made my skin sting a little.
Finished a teeny elemis body moisturiser sample too. I think that's about it for now!

CantChoose · 17/04/2018 22:46

@suchatiredbunny how do you find out about the qvc elemis offers? I always hear about them after the event...

suchatiredbunny · 17/04/2018 23:51

Cant I follow Keeley Aydin on FB, she's got an Elemis page and always gives previews etc before the big events. She's on Instagram too.

suchatiredbunny · 17/04/2018 23:54

Suki I'm not a huge Clinique fan either but my DH works for an American firm so when he's over there he often picks bits up (not so much now as the exchange rate means it's not as bargainous as it used to be). He's very good at fluttering his eyelashes at the assistants and getting extra freebie products which is always a bonus!

CantChoose · 18/04/2018 08:23

Thanks tiredbunny, I will follow her!

CantChoose · 18/04/2018 08:24

I mean, I absolutely won't. I will absolutely not buy more elemis stuff. Nope. Not me.

IPokeBadgers · 18/04/2018 21:04

Finished a handcream....it was a cheapie, Lidl Cien brand. I actually think it's pretty good for a budget cream. Loads of handcream in the stash but may repurchase in the future.

SukiTheDog · 18/04/2018 22:25

@Suchattire.... Wink

RiskIt4Biscuit · 19/04/2018 00:10

Finished a solid Beautyblender cleanser/soap. I think this makes the sponges last longer than using normal soap, but I hate that the product is so small and so expensive.

I have lost a hand cream. It was almost empty, but it still annoys me. It was a good first aid beauty one - it just works so well. The smell is like a faint eucalyptus which I quite like. I tend to get a little bit of eczema on my wrist and this cream seems to have kept it to a minimum - or maybe I have just been lucky with flareups, so I may repurchase.

TeaAddict235 · 20/04/2018 20:23

Hello, I think that I ought to join. I've been reading, and identifying with the beauty hoarding habits of my fellow MN'ers here. I too, do have a stash of health and beauty items which will set me in good stead in the event of a nuclear fall out. Basically I'll still have soft skin in my Anderson shelter whilst eating spam.

I am a bit of a hair and skin obsessive and thus have too many shampoos, conditioners and creams.

This week I finished a L'Oréal pure clay glow mask which I've had for about 18months following the birth of DS2. ....however today I bought an Aldi Lacura anti ageing eye cream, as their night soya cream was the bees knees. I also bought an Aldi mascara. Oops

Strawberryfield12 · 21/04/2018 07:41

Over last week have finished a bottle of argan oil, Stenders shower oil and Body Shop argan oil body lotion. Liked the last two, argan oil lotion was a good surprise, didn’t have the synthetic strong smell what other of their products have.

I have sinned... saw YouTube video about stress and Darphin set of relaxing mask, candle and oil. No idea why I received order confirmation email.

PurpleNailVarnish · 21/04/2018 08:26

Since I last posted I'm not sure I can remember everything I've posted but I'm going to try.

  • 2 John Frieda shampoos
  • 2 John Frieda conditioners

I had started all of them so finishing them up has made some space.
Now I'm using up Bumble & Bumble shampoo & conditioner that isn't any better than cheaper brands.
When I've used all of the shampoos I'm going to try Rahua.

  • 1 Lush bath bomb
  • 2 Lush bubble bars

I've got so much bath stuff to use up and I have showers most days so finishing it all is going to be a slog.

  • A whole tub of body moisturiser in one go.
  • A hair mask sample I can't remember the make
  • 2 tubes of Elasticizer.

DH was away for the night so I slept face, hair and body masks Grin
I don't get the fuss about Elasticizer, it doesn't do much for my hair.

  • A tub of Nivea soft.
  • A tube of Cetaphil.

I'll buy the Cetaphil again.

  • A sample of Aromatherapy Associates Rose shower gel.

It was fine and I liked the smell but no better than normal shower gel.

  • A Tesco cucumber face wash.

Left here by DDs at Uni I used it up and liked it, I'd buy it again.

  • The usual deodorants, toothpastes.

I'm trying to use up perfumes.

  • I binned 3 face wash samples, one was Clinique they were all too oily.
  • I gave a DD some Dr Dennis Gross Alpha mask samples and others.

I think that's it for now.
I must address the shampoos, conditioners, bath stuff, moisturisers and body moisturisers. Those are my big areas of excess, often unintentionally as people buy them for Christmas or birthdays.
I'm still working my way through my stash of samples.

The only product I've bought in this time is Clinique facial sun cream, SPF 30. It's brilliant, the only product with SPF I've found that doesn't make my skin flare up.

Can anyone recommend a good conditioning treatment for my long, fine hair?

ememem84 · 21/04/2018 11:33

Bourjouis mascara finished. Woop.

ememem84 · 21/04/2018 16:44

And I’ve ditched three nail polishes.
