Finished a joules body scrub- I'm on a roll!! 😱

PurpleNailVarnish · 23/09/2018 21:52
  1. LixirSkin Vitamin C paste This didn't do anything, it smells of poo no really, it does and I noticed no improvement to my skin at all, I won't buy it again.
  2. This Works stress check breathe in The smell was good but I don't think it made any discernible difference to my stress levels.

Small sizes and samples I've used up:

Superdrug Castor and Shea shampoo travel size
Liked this and I will buy a full size.

Body Shop hemp hand protector 30ml
Love this and get through loads of it.

Mark Hill holiday hair sunshine shampoo travel size
It was ok but didn't blow me away.

Aromatherapy Associates relax bath & shower oil sample
Wasn't fussed on this, whereas some oils make me feel clean this didn't, it was just oily.

ReVive anti ageing eye serum sample
Used this at night, as my eyes aren't really a problem area I didn't notice a difference and it stung like billy ho when I got it in my eye, I won't buy a large size.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 23/09/2018 22:48

I am useless at this.

I ordered a present for my mum and a new Laura Mercier loose powder as it was on offer and with a good freebie (travel size powder and eyeshadow stick) on feelunique, and I got some additional little samples from a brand I had never heard off.

I used the samples today, and my DH has been saying my makeup has been looking phenomenal and fantastic today - so now I have ordered the products. Useless, I tell you (but looking phenomenal at the same time - I can live with that). Although, I did find them on lookfantastic with 15% off.

For those interested, it’s the Lumene illumination beauty serum and the blusher. I used the serum under my ELDW and it looks so glowy and fresh, but still with a medium coverage. I have oily skin, and it doesn’t make me look shiny or oily.
On its own, it’s a very light coverage foundation which seems to be quite glowy and hydrating, but not oily or sticky. I do like more coverage, so probably wouldn’t wear it alone.

PurpleNailVarnish · 23/09/2018 23:21

Which shades of Lumene Illumination and blusher did you use RiskIt?

RiskIt4Biscuit · 24/09/2018 00:08

Purple I used medium and the blusher in pink blossom.

I am quite fair, but medium seemed to work just fine with my skin tone. I haven’t tried any other shades, so I don’t know how the other shades are.

They are very subtle products, but reviews say they are buildable.
I've only used them one day, so my experience with them is obviously very limited.

Ladies Kwicklet and I are doing well. Kwicklet is a boy and weighed 6 lbs upon arrival. He is adorable. Let me see if I can upload a picture.

@RiskIt4Biscuit there is a Lumene advent calendar coming out soon! I'd never heard of the brand but some of their products look nice, so it's good to hear you like the products you've tried

RiskIt4Biscuit · 24/09/2018 18:46

Treeballarae Oh wow, I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know! Do you know where it will be sold? I'm really impressed by their products so far (I've only tried 3 - the two mentioned above and then the vitamin C serum), so I'd love to get that advent calendar.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 24/09/2018 19:01

Experiment627 Congratulations! He is gorgeous!

DragonNoodleCake · 24/09/2018 20:54

Hi everyone, I was here a few threads ago under a diff name. Experiment congratulations, he is a seriously gorgeous baby. So happy for you. cant seem to do paragraphs for some reason so will keep it short!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 25/09/2018 09:43

Thank you to the poster who recommended the sallybeauty website for Maria Nila shampoo - they've been out of stock of the 1l bottles of the volume shampoo, but now have them again.

I've just bought two with a buy one get one half price and additionally 20% off, and free delivery (which I think is next day).

I really appreciate it! Thank you!

I can live with a stash of shampoo - my main issue is makeup and skincare products that I use for a little bit and then don't use up.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 25/09/2018 10:53

@experiment627

THIS BABY 😍😍😍

Treeballarae · 25/09/2018 13:56

@RiskIt4Biscuit, the Byrdie 2018 advent calendar article has a release date of 30 October and the Vogue 2018 advent calendar says it will be sold via Feel Unique but I'm sure I read somewhere else that it will also be available from Look Fantastic.

I have little self control, so I tried to find a youtube unboxing of the 2017 lumene calendar (doesn't look like it was sold in the UK back then) to see what sort of things were included but none of them had subtitles but there is a blog I found called Life of Menta and she shows the contents of the 2017 calendar day by day. The 2018 one looks more interesting than the 2017 one, there were a lot of similar items in the 2017 one.

I'm very tempted by the Lumene one and the Espa calendars

Only one empty from my September list - which is nowhere close to being finished - Korres Vine body milk, smells lovely, will buy again once I've used up my body lotions.

Also used up
DHC silky cotton pads, these claimed not to leave fluff on your face, they were less fluffy than normal cotton wool but still some little balls of the fabric on my face when I put on my moisturiser.

Experiment627 · 26/09/2018 04:46

@RiskIt4Biscuit glad Sally's worked out in the end!!! Did you know there is an actual shop on New Oxford Street - I am barred 😬

Thanks for all the compliments on Kwicklet 😍

I have progressed to applying serum and cream but need to make my way back to cleansing... at this rate I will never use anything up!

Tried the Aldi dupe of glam glow and was really impressed. Results were the same and for a fraction of the cost. Thanks to who suggested it ☺️

Finished a Nivea so soft body moisturiser which is my fave and have 2 pots left

NiceUnusualDifferent · 26/09/2018 17:06

Had a good sort out today. I think I’m going to go for a low buy for the next 2 months. Just replacing what I use up although I’ve just reordered my face wash and serums so shouldn’t need to repurchase those.
I’m going to concentrate my efforts on body moisturiser. I have lots and lots of lotions and butters and quite a lot open too. Will count them up this evening then shame myself by posting the numbet😩
My first empty is Vichy mineral 89, have used this for a while, I was going to repurchase but decided to try the GOW one as I’ve liked everything of theirs I’ve tried so far.
