@PurpleNailVarnish get well soon!!!! I am sure it is just a blip!!!!

I have an empty!!!

  • Marks & Spencer Sun Smart moisture protect creme gel after sun: probably the best after sun I have ever used. Great smell, plus really cooling and moisturising. I may have got some in my stash as was on sale

Em thanks for the Heel Genius recommendation, I've never looked at Soap and Glory products but actually the ingredients of the Heel Genius are pretty good and it's inexpensive. What does it smell of? Is it minty, I see there's menthol in there but also some fruity type ingredients? Maybe I should just go to a Boots and have a sniff!

No more empties to report so my August list will be rolled over into September.

New list of what I'd like to use up in September

  1. Renovate nail cream - c/f from Aug
  2. Weleda lip balm - c/f from Aug
  3. Ren Wake Wonderful night treatment - c/f from Aug
  4. Alpha H Balancing Cleanser 500ml
  5. Aveda stress-fix body lotion mini
  6. Aveda stress-fix cream oil body wash mini
  7. Korres vine body lotion mini
  8. Neom de-stress hand balm mini

ememem84 · 01/09/2018 20:08

Have gotten rid of some make up brushes today. Too many and some are just minging.

So that’s decluttered something.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 09:07

Three empties!!!

Benefit triple elixir stuff. Didn’t like it. But it’s gone. Yay.

Clarins body exfoliator - love this but have a couple of others in the stash a soap and glory one next!

And jo malone lime basil mandarin body moisturiser. Love this but so expensive so definetly a treat. Onto an aveeno next.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 03/09/2018 11:20

I have given some perfumes to my mum - I don't use them, and I doubt that I will, so I took them home to my mum. She can obviously do what she wants with them - bin, keep or give to someone else.

One had never been used, the other ones only used a few times.

They were:
Clinique Wrappings (never used, I have kept the body lotion - it was bought as a gift set)
Paul Smith Rose (100ml, used a few times - I do love this one, but just never wear it)
Courreges Rose de Courreges (used a few times, bought on sale, I really like it, but again just never wear it)
Iceberg (don't remember which one, bought blind after reading good reviews and finding it on sale at Harrods, but I just don't reach for it. It was quite a fruity scent, and I did like it).
I also gave her some Guerlain makeup and skincare samples I got last time I bought some Guerlain products. She really loves Guerlain, so I suspect she'll enjoy them.

I've also finished a small benefit gimme brow. I got this as a sample a while ago, and it has lasted forever.
I am not currently tinting my brows, so I have really enjoyed this - it is very natural and easy to use, and I really like the colour.
I think I have one more sample in my stash, but if I don't, I will buy a new one.

I bought the most recent Porter magazine from the supermarket (going for a long drive), and it came with a Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, which I will also give to my mum. I have had one at home for ages (next on the list to use up), and I just don't rate it, so maybe she will be able to put this new one to good use.
It's a nicely sized tube, 75ml.
I generally really like those makeup/skincare samples/free gifts we get with UK magazines.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 13:46

Oooh I love a free sample with a magazine. A tip I read on money saving expert is to look at magazines and then get one don’t had a cosmetic you need. I needed s mascara ages ago and vogue had a free one. So bought the magazine. £4 instead of an £12 mascara.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 20:14

Empty. Again. Clinique take the day off. I’d never tried this before my empty. But love it.

Love it so much I accidentally bought 4 bottles online. So have a ton to use up.

Next on the list though is a half used clarins cleansing milk.

RJnomore1 · 03/09/2018 22:16

Number 19 and I'm not so happy at this: Hollywood skin overnight magic gel.

It really works to settle spots and keep my skin under control. I will buy more but I have some other things to try first. If I end up having a break out it's all my own fault !

LanguidLobster · 04/09/2018 00:12

I've been really good - I haven't bought anything in months, have thrown out old mascaras etc and don't even think I need to buy shampoo for the rest of this year.

I have earmarked elemis marine cream and some other unused, sealed beauty products as Xmas presents.

Wow and I'm normally so profligant...

Alicatz66 · 04/09/2018 16:45

Working on finishing a jar of Liz Earle moisturiser... not keen so won't re purchase .. I love my Clarins but just can't justify the expense sadly Sad

RJnomore1 · 04/09/2018 21:08

Finished another - no 20 - elemis superfoods facial wash. It smelt like a green smoothie, that vegetable tinge but it didn't dry out or make my skin greasy so I'd say good for combination skins.

I've got quite a few small washes to finish now so I'm onto a nuxe cleanser and expecting a good few empties in the next few weeks as I use these up.

I may just be able to justify the advent calendars after all!

Inthetropics · 05/09/2018 04:20

Used up a O Boticário vanilla hand cream. This was really old and i'd never buy anything vanilla scented anymore.

I'm trying to use all my stuff but i seem to go through everything very slowly. I might take a year or two to reach normality - which to me means having only a few backups and sticking mostly to my holly grails.

RJnomore1 · 05/09/2018 08:16

No 21 - an Avon argon oil hair mask. I go through a lot of those sort of things as I have very long hair and it's coloured so needs lots of moisture putting into it. This one was ok. Not spectacular.

I've got 2x Aussie three minute moisture miracle to use up now that I got for 50p each in Asda. Sometimes the world is against me minimising products 😬

RJnomore1 · 05/09/2018 08:28

Oh and 22 a mini Milton brown rhubarb and rose body lotion. I have about 6 from a gift set, hopefully I will rattle through then quickly.

Onto pink pepper pod now.

Experiment627 · 05/09/2018 18:20

@ememem84 thanks for reminding me - I really need to wash my brushes!!!!
I love the Jo Malone lime, basil mandarin smell too - Aldi do a very good dupe.

I have finished up two sample shower gels I got from L'erbolario - Lilac and Indigo, nice but not my preferred smell.

For advents I am thinking:

  • Body Shop expensive one
  • Look Fantastic
  • maybe Lush? Asos was fab last year but have had no news of a 2018 one

Am now using up holidays until mat leave starts on 24th... have been keeping very busy although, unfortunately, sciatica has arrived. I really hope it eases as it is hampering my nesting!!!

Just had a swim and now waiting for NCT breastfeeding class to start 😬

PurpleNailVarnish · 05/09/2018 21:20

Hi honey I'm home.

I make that 36 weeks today @Experiment627. Am I right?
Have you gone off any smells this pregnancy?

On holiday I bought one L'Eborlario perfume and that's it.
I've made up for it today by buying stuff from SpaceNK to get their latest free sample box but I've used up lots of stuff so I'm making net progress at least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it

I've decided to try to use up 20+ full size products before December.
I have a list, I'll post it sometime soon when I've properly hit terra English firma.

RJnomore1 · 05/09/2018 22:52

Oh no whyyyy did you have to mention the space nk set 😬

PurpleNailVarnish · 06/09/2018 00:11

Sorry RJ Confused I didn't mean to be a bad influence.
I didn't want the Cult Beauty one because it was more makeup than skin care but the SpaceNK samples are mostly skin care and that swung it for me.

RJnomore1 · 06/09/2018 07:00

There's a cult beauty one too?

Omg

I don't get paid for a week and they will be sold out won't they? Won't they?

RJnomore1 · 06/09/2018 08:31
  1. Real chemistry environmental rescue day cream. It's too heavy for my skin but it was only a 10ml tube so I have used it all up. Would recommend if you have seriously dry skin.
Experiment627 · 06/09/2018 13:13

@PurpleNailVarnish I cannot say I have noticed any smell aversions. I still LOVE the smell of petrol which is probably not the best thing for either me or Kwicklet 😂

TeaAddict235 · 06/09/2018 19:09

@Experiment627 well done on soldering on with the smellies. For such a beauty hoarder as myself, just opening up my stash cupboard would make me retch and awoke me to realise that I was most definitely pregnant. I spent most of the 9months vomiting and forbidding DH to wash with anything other than water Grin he had the unfortunate experience of showering before work and me running into the bathroom vomiting down the loo and into the sink then slinking back to bed. BlushBlushBlush every time I look at an Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Conditioner, I am reminded of that incident Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2018 19:09

I have a tube of Nuxe showergel but I'm adulting and waiting to use up my Korres Vine one (used on holiday and brought home ) .......there's enough Korres for one more shower Grin then I;m into the Nuxe one
