Hi all, I'm restarting.

I'm going to get the bathroom sorted over the next couple of days. There are so many part bottles of this and that.

Then I will start on the main issue and get organised so I can see what I've got to get rid of.

This time it's happening!

PurpleNailVarnish · 24/08/2018 08:37

Thanks @Experiment627, I'd never heard of L'Elrbolario but I just googled and I'm very excited. We'll be near one today.

The odd thing I do is smell things. A lot. It's become a family joke, if I'm lost in Tesco I'll be over by the bath and shampoo section sniffing things. I'm fussy about smells.

I just told DH there's this shop I want to go to, I'm going to smell things. He understood.

Treeballarae · 24/08/2018 14:35

@ememem84 exciting news about your move and your new house, roll on the start of Oct! Catface is gorgeous btw! Thanks for the footner rec, I have used footner but only once and it was great on most of my feet, left them SO soft, but the really thick bits of hard skin stayed put, I might try it again next time it's on offer and maybe the hard bits will reduce over repeated uses.

@Experiment627 - excited for you, not long now and hopefully it's a bit cooler for you now.

@PurpleNailVarnish - your holiday predicament sounds like days out with my DP, I can enjoy history and walking and views but I just reach the point when I just want to go shopping. I think you mentioned Ren Wake Wonderful in one of your lists, I've been trying to get through my tube and not really enjoying it, but I'd been using it as a serum under other things, now I'm using the way you described it, on it's own and I'm liking it (and the results) much more, so thank you for the inspiration! I don't know why it had not occurred to me before!

To the poster who asked how long to use up a body lotion, 6 months, I'm useless at remembering and I don't like the feeling before it sinks in. I need to remember this as I have 21 bottles of it in my stash and I was looking at more this morning Grin

I'm excited by the beauty advent calendars chat! I made my own "to save money" last year and ended up spending the equivalent of what one of the fancy ones would have costed because I got carried away buying "little sizes", the only benefit was I liked everything in it.

Empties - I've been working my way through my August list
Clinique moisture surge spray - holy grail product, repurchased another

Green People neutral shampoo mini - left my hair too soft and fluffy

The Ordinary Vitamin C 23% - hated this, like I took my serum to the beach and got sand in it

Yes to Cucumbers shampoo - left my hair quite dry, was good value for a sulfate free shampoo, might try the other Yes to ranges

Hylamide serum - holy grail but so hard to find now, used to get it in Boots with my points, had to buy last one direct from Deciem, now using up a Hydraluron I had in cupboard and really liking it again but will probably still repurchase the Hylamide later in the year

Still to use up from August list - Leighton Denny renovate nail cream, Ren Wake Wonderful, Weleda lip balm - all never ending

ememem84 · 24/08/2018 14:43

I’ve started on a clarins instant light lip perfector. Not actually sure what it’s meant to do. But it was in the stash. So will use up.

tree I also use soap n glory heel genius. Which is amazing. I buy on offer and try to use every day once a month is more like it

ememem84 · 24/08/2018 14:55

In my make up stash I have 5 lipsticks/glosses I never wear lipstick. So no idea why I have them.

I have the clarins one mentioned above.
A sexy motherpucker dark pink one (came in a gift set), a couple of Rimmel ones (a dark pink and a pale pink) and a clarins (I think) red one.

I’m going to start wearing them. #brave.

Alicatz66 · 24/08/2018 16:44

I'm on holiday so trying to use up all the stolen hotel minis 😂... brought them with me as light ! Also 3 half finished factor 50 face sunblocks ... will re buy La Roshe Posay again .. none of the others .

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 24/08/2018 18:15

Great work out there people! I’m gutted to not have managed to finish my back to school list but then remembered that England isn’t back to school yet so I have time!
Have finished
M&S facial tanning drops; not sure it did anything really
Body shop honey bronze liquid. Not a great amount of colour so won’t repurchase
Body shop rainforest conditioner. Lovely
JLo Deseo Perfume. Nice summer scent but apparently discontinued and didn’t like it that much!
Batisse dry shampoo. Love it.
Body shop mojito body butter. Yum and great for dry feet!
Now I just have to finish off matching shower gel and body scrub as def feels like summer is over.
Trying and managing to avoid buying beauty this month except perfume samples and a candle.
Just 4 more on back to school lost but lipstick there and that takes me ages!

purple love a holiday beauty shop. Makes my trip!

Experiment627 · 25/08/2018 05:06

Am sitting in my mother's conservatory with door to garden open as puppy wanted to go out 😬

At least he is not barking!

I feel like we have not heard from @IPokeBadgers and @DragonNoodleCake In ages - hope you ladies are doing well!

Went out out last night. Home by 930 though.

Used a bit of my liquid foundation. I thought I had less to use up but it’s basically a full one. Sigh. Must work on using this up.

Really rating the clarins lip perfector I have.

CantChoose · 25/08/2018 11:27

Hello all! Hope you're all well :)
I've been very naughty and I think there's been more coming in than going out here.
Though I've used up three aftersun lotions which had dredges in since getting back from my holiday last week - a Nivea one, a boots one and a Superdrug one. The Superdrug one was noticibly better even though it was the cheapest. I've accidentally bought a tan prolonger Superdrug one, has anyone tried this?

I also finished a smash box B.B. cream. I didn't like this and found it really thick but I lost the lid really early on so it had probably just dried out a bit. I love their primer though so still feeling a little disappointed with it.

Also had to throw away a nails inc base cost which had gone thick and horrible. Quite annoying as I've not had it all that long but I've already bought a new one as it was really good before it got gross.

ememem84 · 25/08/2018 13:35

I’ve ditched my nail polishes. All but 3. One sparkly black one (which is old. But still good), one purple and one dark dark red.

Shall be treating myself to a home pedicure later. Sick of “naked” toes except for big toes which still have the green mermaid sparkle gel pedicure on them. All others have fallen off.

Alicatz66 · 25/08/2018 15:27

AnotherPinkiePieStory .. I've got most of a tube of Body Shop honey bronze face gel stuff .. I think I may just sling it ... I think it smells horrible and is too orange ...
Generally though I think the Body Shop are getting a bit better ... maybe they realised all the stuff was over priced and we need to get back to the days of satsuma soaps !!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/08/2018 16:08

I took loads of sample/trial sizes on holiday.

Korres Santini Vine ..........oooh love this , my favourite of the shower gels , will re0buy.
Ren - showergel, seaweed and something, not a fan it was lavendery

Nuxe - the oil (mini bottle) and an aftersun. Love the smell, but I don't like the cologne.

L'Occitane almond oil supple skin - loved it, but I think Nuxe wins by a whisker

Liz Earle C&P with the muslin

I used Malibu suncream, but the higher the factor , the less it smells. I didn't go below 30. The 50 smells of nought.

ememem84 · 26/08/2018 09:55

Empty - clarins extra firming jour moisturiser 30ml. Itsvtaken over a week of every day use to get rid of this. I do love it though.

Moving on to a benefit triple performing elixir (which apparently moisturises...) never used it before so will repost back. It’s a sample/travel/mini one so hopefully done within a week.

Alicatz66 · 26/08/2018 17:56

Using up a Nuxe after sun out of Glossy or Birchbox ... lush ... smells so lovely ... will definitely buy again

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/08/2018 10:11

BodyShop banana shampoo finished ... not a fan TBH.

I dyed my hair and it as taken a really strong hue (I have a natural mid-brown with grey and wanted a reddish tone but not too red. So I mixed a light golden brown with a mahoganhy dye .......)

Luckily (in my case) the red does fade quicker and I'm going to raid DS shampoo (Superdrug Head'n'Shoulders type) to ease the fading along.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 27/08/2018 13:41

Finished a Head and Shoulders shampoo - I really like this one and have repurchased.

I have also finished a Guerlain Radiance In A Flash face treatment. Not relaly sure how I feel about this. It is supposed to give instant radiance and tightening, and the radiance claim is correct because of the shimmer in the product, but it doesn’t seem to do anything to improve the skin in any way.
Because they call it a treatment, I would have thought it would do something to the skin. If they had called it a primer or similar, I would probably not be as disappointed.

I have also finished a Guerlain Parure Gold foundation. I am certain there is more product left in the bottle, but I can’t get more out using the pump and I can’t get the pump off the bottle.
This is annoying as it is not a cheap foundation and I would not be surprised if there is enough left for 14 more days.
I really liked this foundation, but I don’t think I will buy it again as it is too expensive to buy regularly and also I don’t appreciate that I cant get everything out of the bottle.

This should link to a list for 2018

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/08/2018 19:46

Those advent calenders are available pretty soon............
I love the Rituals one.
I was going to buy some Duty Free but I'm on NoSpendAugust and DD and I were thinking about using the Spa at the hotel but decided against it.
So the Rituals one could be instead of the Spa , (though I'd keep it for Dec 1st, I still have things to use up)

TeaAddict235 · 28/08/2018 21:27

I have been away finishing up products Grin here are my humble empties:

A Yves Rocher shea butter and wheat hair mask- served me well this summer but was too protein heavy in winter and has quite an overpowering smell.

A Garnier skin active honey face cream- absolutely delicious. Had to buy another one yesterday.

A Garnier deodorant. Did the job.

Inthetropics · 28/08/2018 23:26

Used up:
3 Natura humor perfume samples
1 Kenzo World perfume sample
1 chá verde Seda shampoo

ememem84 · 30/08/2018 06:26

Night moisturiser finished last night. Clarins extra firming nuit.

Experiment627 · 30/08/2018 08:01

I have an empty!

  • Superdrug Simply Pure hydrating night serum: very inexpensive; I ended up using for day as I am not so consistent at night 😬 am moving on to a Lush solid serum.

Still in Italy, still hitting the monuments and places of outstanding natural beauty and all that shiz. I'll have a huge list of empties to post when I get back.

We went to L'Ebolario and bought some perfume but just one.

I think I've lost my hoarding mojo. Cult Beauty have got their latest sample thing out and I'd normally be straight in there but when I actually looked at it there were only 4 products that I really thought I would use and like. Sure, there are some good makeup bits but I really don't need anymore makeup at all, I've got loads of everything. If anything I need to go into Space NK and get them to do a natural look makeup on me to revamp my colours and techniques.

What with the frugal spending in L'Ebolario and the samples Cult Beauty I'm wondering if I'm sickening for something. I expect it's only temporary.

The latest SpaceNK sample set should be out soon so I'll see whether that tempts me out of my lethargy. That or the advent calendars.

Sending sunshine, good health and dewy skin good vibes to everyone.

RJnomore1 · 31/08/2018 09:35

Aanother 3 empties from me this morning

14 lancer the method polish. I really liked this it's not too rough or too mild and felt like it did something but now I have to finish my Clinique 7 day scrub and ab Arran aromatics tea tree and lavender one.

15 was Clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion. I used to love this but I much prefer marine cream now so was glad it's done. I have quite a few different moisturisers abd day creams to get through now, most smaller sizes from beauty boxes.

16 is a body lotion, forgotten the make already, no idea where it came from but it was nice, not too think, settled on quickly and smelled nice.

Which is no help as I don't know what it was!

And as I was typing I realised I could have one more so I've gone and finished my clatins décolleté and neck concentrate. It was nice and smelled nice but I got it as a present in a set and I wouldn't go and buy a specific cream just for that. Not yet anyway.

So I'm at 18.
