experiment yes feeling more rested now thanks!

No other empties to report. 😭

But am plugging away at the stash.

RJnomore1 · 04/08/2018 10:01

Right I've fallen off the wagon spectacularly from a few threads bsvk so here I am again trying to deal with the amount of stuff I've accumulated...

I've had a look and my biggest problem is facial masks so I'm going to work on those. I'm getting through my cleansers abs my eye cream and serum are now used up so I was able to buy new ones last week! So some progress made.

TeaAddict235 · 04/08/2018 11:08

Ah shame @LanguidLobster ! My bathroom cabinet says thank you though, as it is at bursting point and cannot take another bottle or pot.

Ohh @PurpleNailVarnish la France! Are you doing the whole French femme experience of expensive face care or the savvy French femme which is as they write in the magazines that they only wear sun block, the higher the SPF the better? I studied in France and my student flat mate used Caudelie in the bathroom!!! Wtf?? So I helped her with the face creams from time to time GrinGrinGrin share and share alike eh? Don't think that she was too interested in my supermarket offers though

RJnomore1 · 04/08/2018 12:17

Ok I have empty no 1

It was admittedly a sample but still. Wei anti wrinkle face mask cream. I liked it. Felt good and skin looks good after. No idea what the cost is like and I won't be buying til I use up the rest of the hoard...

Inthetropics · 05/08/2018 18:06

I was trying to use up two products but gave up on them.

The first is Beauty Box's Vanilla BonBon body splash. I hate it so much! It smells like a bottle of vanilla food flavoring essence and is nauseating. I've decided enough is enough and have donated it. The second product is actually OK but it lasts FOREVER and i'm so sick of it! It's Granado's Adstrigent Coconut facial soap. It is very good for my oily skin and i've used this one bar of soap for at least two years at least once a day. Now it's really small and so hard i'm pretty sure it's desire is to live forever so i'm throwing it out. I guess this is cheating, but i'm fed up of it and won't be buying it again.

I've been decluttering my home and i found a product i love that i didn't remembered i have: it's an Imaginarium lip balm shaped like a donut that colours my lips just the right amount and smells great.

I don't remember who said that my products seem exotic, but here in Brazil what would be exotic are products made out of blueberry, raspberry, probably all berries since they can't hardly be found. Last month i was feeling adventurous and posh so i bought the equivalent to a cup of bluberries and paid around 3 pounds for it. Also, i had to look for it in a lot od places until i could find some and most people didn't know what they were. On the other hand passion fruit, açaí, avocados and caju (the fruit that grows attatched to what is called cashew nuts in England) are staples here and i have a lot of products made out of these and other fruit. It's so strange to think of brazilian common frutis as exotic! Smile

Inthetropics · 05/08/2018 18:09

I'm so sorry for the many mistakes on my post above! Wish there was and editing button! Blush

RJnomore1 · 05/08/2018 18:36

Today I have finished a Clinique charcoal face wash (like it, would consider buying again at some point) and used up a sample of Dior dream skin. It felt nice but I don't think you can ever tell much from a one use sample. Although I also used up a ren clay mask sample and it was very good.

So that's 2-4 done.

I've also spent the day organising my things and I've thrown out some makeup I don't like. I have a real problem throwing out things that COULD be used but I'm doing my best to get over it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/08/2018 18:57

I've gathered together all my useable small or sample sizes to take on holiday so I aim to get through them all.

I went through everything last week and threw a couple of things out ( things I knew were out of date ) but still using a tin of SteamCream on my feet , it smells a bit weird now but my feet won't bother as much as my face would.
Just looked at my litre bottle of Elastisicer )sp) and found out it had a BBD of July 2014 Shock. It still smells fine , there's maybe 2cm in the pump to go so I'll plug on.

No Spend August going on here (except I'm getting my haircut but I booked that a couple of weeks ago) and my DH bought me Aveda Shampure .

PurpleNailVarnish · 05/08/2018 20:21

We're home.
The house is still standing, though in our absence it's been teenagered. They didn't have a party, they're just messy when left to their own devices. Tomorrow there will be much cleaning.

@ThisIsHistory @Treeballarae and @AnotherPinkiePieStory I bought some Soolantra in France. I've only been using it a few days and I can already see an improvement in my rosacea. Fingers crossed.

How are you @Experiment627? Is it nearly 32 weeks? And yes, DD3 is definitely a girl Smile

Oh @DragonNoodleCake I can't hear that ne ne ne ner ner intro without thinking of that c section DD2 uses Morphe shadows, their colours are good.

How are you in the heat @ememem84? How hot is it there?

@Inthetropics I think it was me who said your products sound exotic...because they do to me! It's about £2.50 in M&S for a large punnet of blueberries, so not that much cheaper but definitely more prolific here.

I admire you for throwing things out @RJnomore1 I tend to keep and use things bitterly Grin

Keep not spending @70isaLimitNotaTarget! I'm going to try to do the same from September onwards. You're my good example.

@TeaAddict235 there was loads of Caudalie stuff in the French pharmacies. I love it but I resisted and bought a load of perfume instead

ememem84 · 05/08/2018 21:28

Hi purple it hit 30 degrees today. I love the heat (although it makes me vair sleepy.

We’ve been on the beach today with ds. He loves the water as do We. So he’s definetly ours! Haha.

Finished a sunscreen today. HAwaiian tropic.

On to a new one tomorrow. I sunscreen all the time now it’s superbly sunny.

Inthetropics · 05/08/2018 22:19

@PurpleNailVarnish With 2.50 pounds i can get about 15 good quality mangoes! Fruit is really cheap here.

Empty - Mahogany's passion fruit gourmet hand wash . This hand wash is meant to make hands stop smelling of garlic and other ingredients we use while cooking. It does the job! Will probably not buy it again as it's expensive and i can't justify the cost when i can get plain hand wash for a tenth of the price.

Experiment627 · 07/08/2018 11:13

I have an empty!!!

  • Body Shop Aloe roll-on deoderant: did the job well but did not last long

Food is quite dear in Blighty.

We are on holiday in the Lake District- which is proving a blessed relief from the heat of London.

Coming up to 32 weeks tomorrow!

experiment eeeeeek!!!! Exciting. Bets on your baby being born the same day as ds? 24 sept...

ememem84 · 07/08/2018 18:45

Although saying that I vaguely remember you saying you’re going for a section. So you probably know already....

As you were.

RJnomore1 · 07/08/2018 22:24

Well I have unexpectedly had 2 more empties - an Avon oils shampoo which I will definitely buy again as it's very good for the price, and a tub of hair mask which I s by even remember the make of do it want very memorable I guess!

I also finished my Clinique chubby stick blusher. I really liked it but I have other blushers I will use up now.

I'm going to count to 50 empties...

That is 7.

PurpleNailVarnish · 07/08/2018 22:44

If it's any consolation @ememem84 I doubt it one of my DCs was born on 24th September years before your DC.

I have a lot of empties but for the past 2 days my leitmotif has been 'is it clean yet?/treat this house like a hotel/we do so much for you/left you with a clean house and a well stocked freezer' etc, etc.

List incoming as soon as calm is restored at home.

Experiment627 · 08/08/2018 07:30

Haha @ememem84!!!! If you want but not really fair as I will know date in advance as having a c-section!!! Still no date could confirmed.

I have an empty!!!

  • Simple water boost micellar cleansing water: best high street brand I have used so far.

I've just sorted out my stash and have products in separate boxes like perfumes, hair products etc

I have used up loads and not bought much so thanks for the inspiration on this thread

I have more but this is my sorted cupboard

I've nearly used up all my shower gels

CantChoose · 08/08/2018 09:47

Wow hats very need, woodhill!
Sorry I've been awol for a while. I've stored up a load of empties waiting to tell you though!

Ted baker 10ml secondscent perfume - not sure they make this any more, was ok, lasted forever!

M&S autograph hydrating confidence boost primer - nice texture, pleasant to use, didn't keep make up on that well but probably not right for my skin type

Elemis hydra-nourish night cream - nice enough would re purchase but trying out using an oil overnight instead

Nails inc mini Maddox street - I really like this colour and might buy a full size even though I have a million nail polishes. On that subject - matching fingers and toes, yay or nay?!

Pur correcting primer - horrible. Orange and glittery, very offputting. Didn't like this at all. Good riddance!!

Inthetropics · 08/08/2018 15:16

5 less itens on my stash.

212 VIP (2 samples) - I tried and didn't like it. It's really not to my taste and it triggered a migraine (a very bad one). Will be giving it to mum who will absolutely love this.

Natura Homem Classic (3 samples) - DP "stole" these from me knowing i'd never use them. I didn't even knew i had these and have no idea where they came from. This perfume smells like a very nice aftershave lotion, really woody. DP routinely uses perfume that's marketed as being of a male scent.

Ta-da. Here's my list of empties, it's long. Apologies.

  • 2 x L'Oreal Elvive extraordinary oil coconut hair treatment.
This is the one I always use and I love it.
  • Charles Worthington moisture seal leave in conditioner.
This was the first leave in conditioner I tried and it is good but when I've used it my hair stays wet for hours unless I use a hairdryer and even then it takes a long while.
  • La Mer the treatment lotion hydrating masks.
DD got this pack of 6 for free and gave them to me. I liked them well enough but I prefer some of the much cheaper masks.
  • Garnier ultimate blends honey treasures shampoo.
One of the left overs from DDs bathroom, I really liked this and would buy it again.
  • Macadamia moisture shampoo and conditioner samples.
I liked the smell of this and it was very moisturising.
  • O hand cream sample.
Like a serum for hands this was odd stuff and I wouldn't buy it.
  • Rahua 2 x shampoo and conditioner samples.
As I've said before, I haven't found an expensive shampoo/conditioner that works any better than cheaper versions. I had high hopes for Rahua but I didn't see any difference.
  • REN facial sample.
This was abrasive and too harsh for my skin, I wouldn't buy it.
  • Body Shop hemp hand cream.
This is my favourite hand cream and I use it for everything; hands, feet, elbows. I already have some more.
  • John Frieda touchably full conditioner travel size.
This was good, I might buy it again.
  • Aveda shampure pure fume mist.
Aveda used to sell shampure pure fume combined with oil. I loved it, the smell lingered and I used to get compliments on it. Then they discontinued it and brought out this mist stuff instead, this isn't very nice and the smell doesn't last at all. I wish the would bring the original shampure scent back again.
  • Chantecaille la creme a la rose de mai facial moisturiser sample.
This was quite good but I prefer Caudalie moisturiser.
  • Pureology shampoo large sample size.
I was underwhelmed by this, I wouldn't buy it again.
Inthetropics · 10/08/2018 12:48

Used up:

  • The Body Shop coconut body scrub.
I liked this. Got it as a gift. I'm not much of a body scruber, so it took me a looong time to use it.
  • The Body Shop strawberry body butter.
I'm more of a lotion person and find this is usually too rich for my skin BUT it is great for the winter. I'd buy this again but would chose a fresher scent.

@CantChoose Matching fingers and toes is great in the summer and i sometimes do it. I'll normally choose more adventurous collours for my fingers in the winter.

RJnomore1 · 10/08/2018 17:31

Finished up my bottle of Chanel allure so that's 8.

It's pretty much the only perfume i wear so fortunately I had another one ready to go 😳

ememem84 · 10/08/2018 19:54

Used up an accessorise sweet lotus body lotion today at the spa. I had it in my gym bag. Hated it. Far too sweet
