Think I need to join this thread. I have enough treats stashed probably for a lifetime. Looking forward to reading the whole thread.🌞

ememem84 · 10/08/2018 22:26

I’ve sorted myself a bag of essentials. We’re moving our on Wednesday. So the rest of my stuff will go to dparents tomorrow. Essentials will stay with me.

Determined to use some stuff up in the time we’re staying with them.

And not buy anything else unless necessary.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 12/08/2018 09:51

Welcome blitzen. This thread helps so much. I’ve got my obsession under control except for lipstick and perfume but that’s another story!

I’m working on finishing my back to school list! Nearly there and will post on Thursday when children back.

Then no spend September as so many birthdays! Will allow myself a replacement eye primer and face spf. Def don’t need anything else. Except quite fancy chocolate liquid lipstick from l’oreal. My plan is that if I manage no spend September/ October I can treat myself to Sephora xmas collection! Although can’t log into US site so may have to abandon that!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 12/08/2018 14:12

I had to bin a Dior lipstick - it was an old Rouge Dior Baume, and it was falling apart - I had to keep the lid on with an elastic, and it got to the point where the whole outside plastic was just coming off. There wasn't very much left, and it was also old, so I'm not feeling too bad about it. I would have liked to use it up, but I didn't want to risk ruining a bag with a broken lipstick.

I have just finished a Roc Hydra+ moisturiser - I really like this one, and have re-purchased many times in the past. I usually cut the tubes open (if I like the product enough) and scoop out the last bits - there is a surprisingly large amount left every single time I do this to any product.

blitzen · 12/08/2018 21:45

Thank you, @anotherpinkie!

Last night I used a Lancome Genifique Hydro Mask before bed and nothing else. It was included in a previous beauty box. My skin felt more hydrated when I woke up but I can't say it looks any better. Bonus points for not stinging or causing a reaction with my rosacea though. However, I know they're £59 for four. They're not going on my purchase list!

RJnomore1 · 12/08/2018 22:04

I've just seen this years Harrods advent
😩

£250 though

I bought the lookfantastic one last year and thought I was being extravagant

Experiment627 · 13/08/2018 06:55

@blitzen welcome!!!!!

Best of luck with the move @ememem84!!!

Amazeballs progress ladies!

@RJnomore1 I bought 3 advents last year - started in October... kinda want to do this again ☺️

I have two empties:

  • Vitabiotics Pregnacare stretch mark cream: quite hard to rub in, prefer other creams
  • Cosmia Green eye cream: very cheap from Spain, nothing to write home about. Moving on to a Lush one

Inthetropics · 13/08/2018 11:23

I have two empties... a Toothpaste and some deodorant. Both simple and cheap staples.

It's freezing here and my heater is not working. My skin is itching despite the moisturizer i've aplied. Ugh!

ememem84 · 13/08/2018 20:50

Moving is stressful y’all.

I don’t have enough bags to pack my shit into!!!!

ememem84 · 13/08/2018 20:51

Making progress though. Have opened two samples of clarins day and night moisturiser. So will get through those in the next couple of days. Going to finish a bar soap too.

Inthetropics · 14/08/2018 00:25

@ememem84 I used garbage bags on my last move. I was tired and they were cheap.

Experiment627 · 14/08/2018 06:43

I hate moving! Did so much when first started working have stayed put for over 10 years now!!!!

The Beauty Advent calendar bug has hit me again..... please share if you hear of any good ones. Last year I got ASOS, M&S and Look Fantastic - all great!

PurpleNailVarnish · 14/08/2018 12:23

Moving is definitely stressful @ememem84, hopefully it will all go quickly and smoothly for you.

Yes I hate moving too, the last time we did it we paid a company to come and do the packing as well as the moving. Believe me, that was luxury.

ememem84 · 14/08/2018 13:32

Been to lawyers today to sign all paperwork to get the sale through on Friday.

Also had an offer on a new place accepted. We move in there 5 Oct. eeeeee

blitzen · 14/08/2018 20:11

Today I bought myself the Liberty London Life's a Beach set for £75. I could not resist and yesterday it was out of stock so I went for it today. Can't wait for the beauty advent calendars! I've had the m and s one two years in a row. I share it with my mother and we open them all at once and share it out according to our likes.

PurpleNailVarnish · 14/08/2018 21:11

Excellent ememem.
Congratulations.

I've never had a beauty advent calendar so I'm interested in everyone's recommendations.

Inthetropics · 14/08/2018 21:49

Random question for those of you who'd like to answer: how long do you take to use up a body lotion?

ememem84 · 15/08/2018 06:37

tropics a month maybe? I try to use it every day and do the whole body.

twoblackdogs · 15/08/2018 12:44

I am hopeless. Went to shops and bought another eyeshadow palette. Just six colours though, but still. It was beautiful, and it is (?) my only excuse. It was an itch I had to scratch, this is the only way I can describe it. No hope for me.
At least now I know a total no-buy ban doesn't work for me.
I have lots, and still I buy...

PurpleNailVarnish · 15/08/2018 20:06

Which palette was it @twoblackdogs? Just nosing.

Since I've been using Soolantra my skin has cleared right up so I haven't needed nearly as many products to keep it at bay so I haven't bought any, not even going through duty free.
When SpaceNK/Cult Beauty do their next lot of samples I know what I'll buy to qualify but I'm holding out until then.

Are you 33 weeks now @Experiment627? Which advent calendar(s) are you eyeing up and why please?

How did the move go @ememem84?

Welcome @blitzen.

I was looking at holidays in Brazil today @Inthetropics, it's on our list. I was looking at Fernando de Noronha do you know if it's any good there? I can use up a body shop lotion in under a week but I like to slather myself in the stuff like a basted turkey.

That's some good tidying there @woodhill.

ememem84 · 15/08/2018 21:04

We are moved into dparents place. Dh catface and ds. I packed us. And moved us all. Sigh.

Removals come to our apartment tomorrow. And we sell on Friday.

We buy our new place on 5 October. Eeeeee!!!

I officially have too much stuff for one bedroom. Dm allocates me a drawer in the bathroom. I have filled it. With “bathroom products - cotton buds, toothpaste, toothpicks, floss, toothbrushes etc.

A box under the bed is full of “spares” and I have two make up bags and a basket in the bedroom. Must work hard to use up.

Inthetropics · 16/08/2018 00:11

@PurpleNailVarnish I've never bedn to Fernando de Noronha but my parents have. My dad is a professional dive and in Fernando de Noronha there is a lot of turtles and they can be seen easily even while snorkeling. It's suposed to be a paradise ans it's a very coveted destination. If you like nature you'll love it. You can also take a look at Morro de São Paulo, which is also an island but is Bahia state.

Have you ever been to Brazil?

Inthetropics · 16/08/2018 00:12

been diver

PurpleNailVarnish · 16/08/2018 05:33

No we've been to the Caribbean but never any of South America InTo.
Until now we've always had DCs in tow but now we don't we're trying to get to the unusual places.

ememem did you call your DH catface? Grin

ememem84 · 16/08/2018 08:31

Haha! Nooo. We have a cat. She has a real name but for mn purposes she’s catface. Here she is.
