Flowers Count, so sorry.

Floof- I have decided, that as with Opium, the PP 24 Faubourg is nicer than the real thing.

I am now showered and in Shalimar, my go to comfort scent at the moment as it reminds me of the Christmas holidays when I could just bake and watch telly.

Students made me cry yesterday and not in a good way. Was verbally attacked by one saying the project they are doing (that I have put hours into) is a waste of their time. It wasn't that that made me cry it was when one of the boys interrupted her and said "I am so sorry, I want to apologise on behalf of everyone else for what she's saying".

mrsreynolds · 13/03/2018 18:50

Oh piam 😔

Sote is silk lace and chocolate. I think it's too gourmand for me tbh but it's pleasant

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 13/03/2018 19:32

Many FlowersFlowersFlowers in order. And probably some Cake or Gin too. Rough times at the moment - here's hoping for the true spirit of Easter to be realised with fresh starts and all that.

I can't complain today- although my time was brief I did pop into bloom today. Had a list of the samples I was interested in to save time but Olga was so helpful and enthusiastic she gave me loads more to smell on strips. It's a great little shop and they're so helpful. I left with...

Secretions Magnifiques, You or Someone Like You, Putains Des Palace and Dangerous Complicity (ELDO), Close Up and Panorama (Olfactive Studio), Panda and Civet (Zoologist), 701 and 102 (Bon Perfumerie) and Socialite Winter Edition (Brocard).

Was dying to try stuff but already had SotD on (19) so stuck to the strips.

Would have been great to spend some proper time there but still really glad I popped in!

CountFosco · 13/03/2018 19:47

Cheap I have Civit in my last suscription box. Civet is probably one of my top scents, it was gorgeous. There's a potion in HP that smells of what you most desire and Civit smelt pretty close to that for me. Enjoy!

Motoko · 13/03/2018 19:50

Sorry for your loss Count. Flowers

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 19:52

Sorry Count Flowers

Roll on Easter hey! In the meantime have some Brew or if it’s really bad, some Gin

OCSockOrphanage · 13/03/2018 19:53

Heaping Flowers at everyone's feet, goddess style, and hoping that you will all be getting an interlude of calm and cosiness in the maelstrom.

Nothing too awful here. It was a mild and sunny day-ish (temperature was only 9C but it felt like spring) although there's more snow forecast for the weekend/early next week. Here in Cornwall, we can usually ignore those warnings. There was a letter from the head of academia warning that DS is at serious risk of under-performing in his A levels; brought to his attention, but it was my fault, naturally. My fingers are crossed, and my legs, that there's something in the tank he hasn't shown yet not entirely optimistic.

SoTD was the Hermés Rhubarb on one wrist and Delina on the other; prefer the other, more subtle, more blended, more nuanced, more roses ingredients.

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 20:02

Motoko I completed a short online survey- feedback on a men’s TPS box. Last time I was put in the prize draw which automatically runs when they launch a new box (so you don’t have to do anything). So 10 purchasers will win 1 bottle for each TPS box launched.

UnnecessaryFennel · 13/03/2018 20:05

I have had exactly the same feedback about ds and his GCSEs, sock. He is the classic case of smart kid who can't be arsed and I am trying not to scream despair.

Home, after a long, chilly, damp journey. I hate commuting. Am now in ugly fleece pyjamas and Creamy Vanilla Crumble. It's becoming my comfort blanket.

cheap glad to hear you had a lovely pit-stop at Bloom - some great samples to try!

piam - feel your pain. My students are usually lovely but can, occasionally, be utterly vile. They have crucified us for the last couple of years in the National Student Survey and at times it feels like the kind of dysfunctional relationship where one party tries and tries and tries to please and the other party does nothing but criticise and pick holes. Exhausting and demoralising.

Wine Cake Flowers and [divine scents] to all of us.

teta · 13/03/2018 20:17

Bloom sounds fantastic.I’m so envious of your visits and sampling. I’m desperate to try the Zoologist range, but at the moment too mean to pay for samples.
Perfume that student sounds rude and totally obnoxious.Thank goodness for some lovely ones.
Floofy my toothache is nothing compared to the relentless positivity you possess, approaching your health issues. And the root canal was really not bad ( hope it works). Ocsock my Ds has surprised me by doing ok in his exams this time. But has had times when his report was diabolical. Sometimes it’s one step forwards, two steps backward.
Count, I’m so very sorry and hope you manage to sort out the next few days.
Sotd is Drole de Rose. Used to love this but I now find it too pretty and feminine and annoying.

auberginesrus · 13/03/2018 20:29

Oh so sorry to hear of the horrible stressful days and especially sorry for your loss Count.

Your sample haul sounds marvellous Cheap I didn't try Civet but wish I had. Will have to find an excuse to go back Wink

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 20:50

Just realised my message reads insensitively to Fosco sorry. The last bit of the message was for all the teachers and parents Blush

Fosco hope you get all the childcare sorted - I find that people are happy to help at times like this as it makes them feel useful at a sad time. Cake and Flowers for your

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 20:51

That should read ‘for your family’

IFancyASliceOfCake · 13/03/2018 21:03

Sorry for your loss, Count Flowers

CountFosco · 13/03/2018 21:32

LibertyBlue no worries, I read your apology first and then had to trawl back to find what you'd written. Quite amusing actually. Kids been pretty good but the 5 year old is, well, behaving like a five year old. Felt like I was shouting all round the supermarket. Childcare sorted for pre and post school. My lovely friend is picking them up from school for 2 days this week so the kids all think it's great because they effectively get a play date twice in one week.

We did get one bit of good news today, the vendor who turned down our second offer on Friday has now offered to meet us half way. Think we are going to agree so we now have got the house we want.

MrsGruber · 13/03/2018 21:56

Sorry to hear your news Count Flowers.

Teta, PiaM, Floof hope tomorrow is better.

Civet is wonderful - full bottle worthy. Femme for the 21st Century.

And speaking of Femme, I've just nabbed a couple of vintage bottles very cheaply - I took a punt on a poorly worded listing on ebay. Turns out one is a little crystal bottle of parfum - in perfect conditon. The other is PdT - top notes slightly off but, resolves in a minute or two, and the moss underneath the fruit is marvellous. This really is a desert island-worthy, perfect perfume.

Ebay can be wonderful thing.

Judydreamsofhorses · 13/03/2018 22:26

So sorry for the collective woes. Sending gin for all. Easter and re-birth has to be a good thing?

SOTD FM Hiver. More root canal here tomorrow, too, which will hopefully be the last session. After tomorrow I will have spent close to £2,000 at the endodontist, and the fecking teeth still need crowned after that.

Slightly related, but the only 4160 I have ever really loved was called The Gin Garden, which was a collaboration with I can’t recall who, a few years back. I had a full bottle which is now finished, but it was so, so lovely. Does anyone remember it?

MrsGruber · 13/03/2018 22:44

No Judy but have always been intruguied. Haven't they just done another gin collaboration (sounded fab but quite pricey)?

pestilentialboundary · 13/03/2018 22:55

SotD is Cuoio by Pal Zileri. A Tuscan Leather dupe, layered up with Firedance (work has been smelly this week).

Flowers for all the teachers. DH is being Ofsteded this week and has been seriously assaulted (repeatedly punched) by a student. I'm so glad I left last year.

More Flowers for Count

pestilentialboundary · 13/03/2018 22:57

4160 gin collaboration. Scenthusiasm

MrsGruber · 13/03/2018 22:59

Does sound lovely. Have a thing for coriander notes.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/03/2018 23:00

So sorry for your loss count but happy to hear you are likely to have got the house you want Thanks

SOTE is the PP dupe for Vengeance Extreme. It is absolutely beautifula nd it lasts forever on my skin. Waiting on another PP order to arrive with 10 different 3ml roll on bottles. I don't want to commit to anything bigger until i've tried each one out properly. Definitely going to get more of the Vengeance Extreme dupe though and I'm on the waiting list for the D&G Feminine dupe, can't wait for that one as i did love the original so much

So sorry to hear of your poor Dh being hurt pest

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 23:34

Gosh Pest that’s terrible. He must be really shaken up by that. Hope the Ofsted goes well.

Thank you Fosco x Ah I share you pain re taking small children to the supermarket! I get a lot of whining for branded stuff all the way round!

LibertyBlue · 13/03/2018 23:37

Pest/ Mrs gruber scenthusiasm sounds really interesting. I love orris too. I have the Cuoio which was recommended by you guys- my DH wears it a lot. It smells great on him and is a good Tom Ford dupe. It’s also very cheap!

pestilentialboundary · 13/03/2018 23:44

On the plus side my DC have just made up for several decades of mothers' day negligence and bought me two cases of wine and some new glasses. Hang on in there, the best bit about kids is...they grow up Grin

DH will survive, he is a proverbial brick shithouse and has suffered worse (plus he has pork pie for lunch tomorrow). Non mainstream teaching comes with a fair few bruises.
