I feel very out of sorts today. After yesterday's Big Sniff, I seem to be making Bad Perfume Choices; either that or my nose is broken.

This morning's Friedemodin was irritating all day. I got home and scrubbed, then found a sample of Malle's Dans tes Bras that was lurking in the back of the drawer. Having put it on, I remember why it's in the back of the drawer. It's just sickly, throat-catching, synthetic-feeling jasmine plus something weirdly antiseptic.

Gah.

Had a shocking day myself

Me, three! Had a crappy day at work. Wore my Cant Be Arsed perfume (Burberry for Women) and was grumpy as hell all day.

I've had a bath (no egg and chips as am trying to lose weight ) and am in Chloe Narcisse from a vintage mini dab bottle I got on eBay. Its an insanely strong flower bomb and I absolutely love it. Its the first thing that has made me smile today .

Can I join in? I had a rubbish day too and just generally feel a bit bleurgh, like I can’t get motivated. It’s probably the month long hacking cough and dragging cold that has just tired me out. Plus a small child waking up v early, so lacking enough sleep which is affecting my energy levels.

Going to head to bed early and try and wake up fresh. I’m thinking about wearing a perky fresh perfume to lull me into thinking it’s spring. Chanel No 19 would be perfect- shame I don’t own any (yet!).

Tomorrow is a new day! Also booked a cleaner to do a spring clean for me later this week as I’m terribly behind on house work - first time I’ve ever done that and hoping it will help sort me out so I can keep on top of it all.

Oh Blue that's exciting!! Desperately trying to convince DH that we need a cleaner. Not getting anywhere, and neither's the cleaning...

Back at work today instead of with the family. Got quite worked up for big meeting with uber boss to talk about a staff plan but was all fine. Phew!

SotD was Diorella. I think for me the extra note is overripe fruit. Enjoyed wearing it today.

Me too; had to travel to London for mine . Did get to sniff some 31 Rue Cambon again though. That's my kind of perfume . Wish they were quite so....exclusive?

Am now in Avignon. Also started reading The Perfect Scent by Chandler Burr, which is (partly) the story of the development of SJP's Lovely, and was cheered to read that one of her three perfumes that she layers to make her own 'unique' scent is, in fact, CdG Avignon. Nice coincidence.

Plus, have just eaten some really good cheesecake, which helps.

SOTD was Mitsouko. I think I am in desperate need of the Easter break - I am SCUNNERED. Hope everyone has better days tomorrow.

PIAM that does sound like the day from hell. Hope today is better.

SOTD is LADDM. One of two perfumes that make me wonder why I ever wear anything else (the other is Diorissimo). It is just absolutely perfect in every way. And it even elicited a 'you smell nice' from dp this morning!

SOTD PP Lime Basil and Mandarin, it's really grown on me this one - love the basil note. My turn for an all day meeting and I'm chairing so I better get there. Have good days everyone.

SOTD is Pell Wall Vina Verde. It’s doing the job of perking me up! A musky Hendricks G&T with cucumber- it’s quite lovely.

Started the day in M.Micallef Ylang in Gold. A lovely warm, spicy ylang fragrance...and something about it reminds me of a 4160T perfume but cant recall which one.

Unfortunately, after an initial powerhouse stage, it fades to nothing too quickly for my liking. I only have a 2ml sample, so cant keep topping up. So have reached for my trusty handbag perfume Burberry Women.

Just had an email from The Perfume Society letting me know I won a bottle of Kenneth Cole cologne My dad will appreciate it. That’s the second bottle I’ve won now. The other was Marc Jacobs Daisy which I no longer like but swapped for perfume I do like (ie sold it on eBay!). I’m getting excellent value out of my VIP subscription

MrsReynolds glad I’ve found another SLC fan. It’s my sofa/ bed scent at the moment. Have a FB!

Sotd also Pp lime basil mandarin. Not as nice as the Superdrug version (basil lime mandarin) IMO which is sharper and limier but it's an inoffensive No Malone. I sure wouldn't want to be paying proper money for a JM.
Beach arrived, ooh it's unusual and totally not me, but I keep opening it up and smelling. Definitely suntan cream, but without the ubiquitous coconut. And for a 3 euro blind buy...

School is awful at the mo' so like Judy I'm crawling towards Easter, even though we only get 5 days. Kids are stressed about exams and h/w and therefore being vile. 18 year old girls bursting into tears willynilly. Urgh. And a colleague correcting my English. Hmm.

I'm consoling myself with the thought that if the start of the year is so shit, it can only get better I have a run of medical appointments coming up as now apparently my head is about to fall off. Can I cheer anyone up with the news that Aldi have a new face mask which apparently is The Dogs Bollocks (my DD bought me one ) so I am about to have a long hot bath and emerge looking still knackered beautiful. Possibly egg and chips too!

My SOTWeek is the PP Rue Faubourg as it's just so gorgeous and I love it. I have finally located my Neroli Portofino within my stash, which is my Spring Is Coming herald and I might go with it tomorrow.

SotD yesterday was Outdoors Mrs Gloss and today was Goodbye Piccadilly. Comfort perfume, FIL died yesterday, DH headed north on the first train this morning, we'll follow before the funeral. Hoping it will be Monday for minimum disruption but not holding out much hope. Pulling in all favours to cover schoolruns/kids activities.
