Tea, cake, bath & telly sounds marvellous to me Judy . Sorry its a tough day for you Flowers

WIDOMH has lasted all day but is now a sweet coconut/vanilla skin scent. Lovely but will be even better in warm weather I think.

SoFancy · 11/03/2018 19:27

judy Flowers

I’m really aware of this day being a hard one for many. My lovely best friend finds it very tough. Her own mother has severe mental health issues and just can’t be there for her in athe fairytale ‘mum’ way, and sadly my friend had a stillborn baby last year ...so it’s just a terribly emotive sort of day all round, really.

To be honest, I find it an uncomfortable day anyway. Me and my mum are both cranky feminists, so all the pink flowers and ‘bless you for being a lovely mummy’ guff jars a little. Miserable cows that we are! Grin.

On a perfumistas note, I’ve never sniffed Wrappings but am intrigued after searching it up (as DD would say) on Fragrantica. Sounds delicious.

In other perfume news, I gave away an unloved limited edition Angel I acquired last year (Etoile des Reves - beautiful blue bottle with the pump spray) to my Angel-loving sister today, rather than ebaying it for £££. She says she is going to wear this version on her wedding day in May Grin, the little pink linger loving cutie Grin. Feeling Halo

SoFancy · 11/03/2018 19:28

pink MINGER (abd I say it to her face!)

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 11/03/2018 19:36

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. Her handbag scent is Avon Timeless. Helped her pop some some on today and was lovely on her. Especially tough for her today - she's never recovered from my mum dying and today must make it extra hard. My boys were fab though and "they" got me a book and a peas in a pod keyring thing 'cause I always call them my peas in a pod. And sing The Poddington Peas at them

Flowers for everyone who has a tough one.

SotD was Firedance. That one's on the swap list...

mrsreynolds · 11/03/2018 19:45

Oh avon timeless is lovely I used to have the scented cream in a heavy faceted jar many years ago!

I have a rather...er...fractious relationship with my own mum, made much worse since dad died.

I spent an hour with her. That's about my limit 😔

Mothers day cam be hard, for a lot of reasons. Love to all x

SoFancy · 11/03/2018 19:47

I love Timeless, Cheap. Great choice 💐

mrsreynolds · 11/03/2018 19:50

All of my sister's scents are PMs 🤣

SoFancy · 11/03/2018 20:04

My sister had worn Angel for 20 years. I’ve off loaded ridiculous blind buys/gifts of La Vie Est Belle and Mon Paris abd Mon Guerlain in her abd she loves them. My (lovely) evil perfume twin. Or Irish perfume twin...I’m 40 and she’s about to turn 40..so we are deffo Irish Twins Grin.

mrsreynolds · 11/03/2018 20:10

Irish twins!
🤣
Haven't heard that for years...

My cousin wore Paris. I loathe it

MrsGruber · 11/03/2018 20:14

Flowers to All.

SotE is my Mothers Day gift to myself - Lidl's Angel dupe, Angelica. I respect Angel, but don't own any. So can't compare side by side, but this has quite a herbal patchouli/caraway start and then sweetens as the vanilla and tonka start to come through. I like it.

positivepineapple · 11/03/2018 21:28

Oh my gosh, What a day! For many reasons!
I try to be as positive as I can be - all the time. Today tested me.

it's a hard day anyway. Had lots of added stress which culminated in an epic rant, which including throwing stuff!? (I never do this, I barely shout) and then news, which I wasn't expecting and that really got to me.

So, I was looking for something to perk me up, and I chose Doe in the snow. It was a good choice.

I think I love this. it's sharp, fizzy, fresh and just..... happy.
It's nowhere near what I would normally go for but tonight it's my happy place.

This is on my FB list.

I hope my FF have had a lovely day 💗

LibertyBlue · 11/03/2018 22:12

Sorry to hear not everyone has had a good day today, appreciate it’s a difficult day for lots of people Flowers

I mainly ate cake, looked at trains (for my DD) and drank coffee. It was a low key but good day.

Had a bath and SOTE is 4160 Silk Lace and Chocolate. This is my go to evening scent as it’s cosy and scrumptious

I have to wait in for a delivery today
Sotd prob addict

UnnecessaryFennel · 12/03/2018 07:09

SOTD is Jardin Mystique. This is the least interesting of the 4 Friedemodin scents I have and I'm slightly regretting my over-enthusiastic spritzing this morning. I get mainly lily-of-the-valley, which I often find cloying (unless it's Diorissimo), and not a lot else. It's not unpleasant but for a dull grey Monday morning commute it's not doing the necessary.

mrsreynolds · 12/03/2018 07:16

Yep i be changed my mind!
I've just looked at the sky here
PP opium it is...

Ollivander84 · 12/03/2018 07:40

SOTD Mrs gloss lemon sherbet

MrsGruber · 12/03/2018 10:29

Morning All. I have a little vintage Miss Dior on it's way. Will I like it?

LibertyBlue · 12/03/2018 11:01

Morning! Today I’m wearing 4160 Another Kiss by the Fireside. Funnily enough, on me it’s very similar to Ruth Mastenbroek Firedance from yesterday- just a bit softer and sweeter, but very similar. I tested on paper strips (moulients?) and they do indeed smell very similar just that the RM is way more smoky on opening on paper (but not on my skin). It’s quite a magical perfume. Thanks Sock

mrsreynolds · 12/03/2018 11:32

I've sent for a sample of who knew?
😁

But that's it

NO MORE

papersmile · 12/03/2018 13:36

Hi, can I ask whether people have experience of buying through the perfume society? I ordered a sample set almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them apart from an email to say they had my order.
Do I need to start panicking yet?

Motoko · 12/03/2018 15:38

I know some people had some delays getting their boxes a little while ago, but I've usually had about a 10 day wait. I think they only post the out on two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday I think).

OCSockOrphanage · 12/03/2018 16:55

Delighted that the parcels arrived and the contents are getting some love. Grin

I think I am getting something unpleasant; my head hurts! I don't want to be unwell. But it isn't a cold, yet, because I can smell. SoTD was 4160T's FloraPsychedelica, for no reason at all. It's lasting better than it ever has before, but the first smell I get from the whole range is Fairy Liquid. Is it just me?

LibertyBlue · 12/03/2018 17:37

papersmile sounds like the package has gone missing in Royal Mail. Email (or better still phone) they’re really helpful when you get through, they’ll sort it out quickly. They are a legit outfit, I think they’ve just struggled a bit recently to keep up with demand. Although it sounds like your order has just got misplaced.

papersmile · 12/03/2018 18:00

Thanks Liberty and Motoko I'll call tomorrow.
