I would second Fennel’s suggestion of 24 Faubourg, a beautiful, classy and long-lasting white floral. I would also recommend Chanel Beige (don’t let the name put you off 😨). It is a honeyed white flowers, with the emphasis on freesias. Low sillage, so suitable for all occasions, but long-lasting and just beautiful. I have a miniature bottle which I am eking out. 4160Tuesdays have several scents based on white flowers. The ones I’m familiar with are Sleep Knot (this is their half price scent of the week until Friday), Pillow Talk and Rome 1963 (white flowers, tobacco and woods, but be aware not everyone likes this one!)

SoFancy · 06/03/2018 09:47

SOTD is Chloe Love Story.

pomadas - this one is a good Neroli fragrance, actually. Quite a clean, crisp interpretation with a cool musk drydown. Lovely for Spring Grin.

Motoko · 06/03/2018 10:34

Why isn't the 4160 tour coming to Scotland? S'not fair

Not doing Wales either. Sad

mrsreynolds · 06/03/2018 11:06

Sleep knot is lovely BUT totally gone after 30 mins :(
Rosa ribes next!

LibertyBlue · 06/03/2018 11:06

SOTD Map of the heart- Gold heart - from the Big Sniff. Couldn’t smell on Sunday due to cold so testing today. It’s lovely- woody creamy and spicy- but very soft sillage so not make a particularly big impact on me as I’m not really into skin scents. This is unisex.

LibertyBlue · 06/03/2018 11:14

Glad you’re enjoying the Pell Walls MrsGruber poor Chris doesn’t get much love on here or other social media. Totally different - but just as good creatively imo as 4160 and another UK independent Perfume house worth investigating. Good if you enjoy your fragrances green or floral. His sample packs are very accessible at £6 for 5 perfumes.

LibertyBlue · 06/03/2018 11:15

Oh and Piam Pell Wall offer international delivery too!

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/03/2018 11:45

Wrappings and Plum both arrived at work. The Fragrance Shop sends those try before you buy samples, so I put a tiny dot of Plum onto my wrist - wow! Talk about a powerhouse! This is a huuuuge white floral with outrageous sillage - I can see why this gets compared to Poison. Not my usual thing at all, a bit dated and OTT (and I think I'm asphyxiating my poor office mate) but, weirdly, I think I might love it a little bit.

Just goes to show, you think you hate a note (In this case, heavy tuberose) but there's always an exception.

No flipping plums in this, though.

mrsreynolds · 06/03/2018 13:51

Rosa ribes is nice
I put some on 2 hours ago...can barely smell It now :(
Shame

LibertyBlue · 06/03/2018 14:22

Gold Heart is still a skin scent- but at least it’s still going strong. Have to sniff my wrist but it smells good

auberginesrus · 06/03/2018 14:38

My meeting finished early so I had time to kill and can highly recommend the Guerlain counter in House of Fraser in Birmingham - they had absolutely everything out to test so I've had a good smell of a few classics, most of which are not for me! They were all in the new shaped bottle except for Shalimar, so maybe that's staying the same? Jicky was just overwhelmingly lavender which has an unfortunate association with migraines for me, and dh hates it. Not keen on L'heure blue. May have to revisit Shalimar as I'm not sure. Lady insisted I also have a sniff of the new Aqua Allegoria Passiflora which was nice and quite summery.

Quick wander round the rest of the fragrance section and had a sniff of Joy - can see why it's highly rated but its not too my taste, I don't think I'm a big floral fan as I didn't like Gucci bloom either. Did find Anna Sui Dreams has been relaunched which is an unchallenging cheapie I used to love back in the day. Was very good and didn't buy anything!

pomadas87 · 06/03/2018 14:42

unnecessaryfennel Plum seems to be out of stock now online - I missed my chance! MG are all discontinued now I think?
Tried Poison again today and fell back in love with it - my husband detests it unfortunately Grin

mrsreynolds · 06/03/2018 14:50

Guerlains do nothing for me either aubergine.
Don't mind mitsouko.
Gucci bloom is 🤢
Trying sleep knot again.
Just no silage on me at all :(

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/03/2018 15:02

pomadas - very happy to send you some if you'd like to try it. Much as I'm enjoying it I doubt I'll ever get through 100mls! PM me with your address if you fancy a few mls.

auberginesrus · 06/03/2018 15:07

Glad it's not just me Mrs R - thought I may be too uncultured for the thread Grin

Managed to get some L'heure Blue on my coat sleeve and it's given me a headache Sad

Motoko · 06/03/2018 15:41

I'm wearing Map of the Heart too. The only note I get from it is pepper. So much pepper, that I keep thinking that I should start sneezing! This is my second time wearing it, and it was the same as last time. I was hoping that it might change on second wearing, like some of the others I've tried, but nope. I just smell like I've had a fight with a pepper grinder.

mrsreynolds · 06/03/2018 15:47

I was so disappointed not to like them so I can empathise aubergine
I'm the same with chanel...they all smell like cats pee to me 🤣
4610 are great but the silage of their scents is just non existant on me...£40 for 30mls is great until you realise you can't smell it after half an hour 😔
I think I noticed it more today as I was wearing addict and I could still smell that after 6 hours...
My mum went to town with my sister and got another bottle of next cashmere 😁
Mum and I have similar tastes wrt perfume I think!!

positivepineapple · 06/03/2018 16:29

I bow down to those who can sniff & not spend!! I avoid perfume counters like the plague as I am guaranteed to go away with something/s.

auberginesrus · 06/03/2018 16:41

Chanel no5 has always had a whiff of Eau de Chat on me. Quite liked 19 when I tried that though.

CountFosco · 06/03/2018 18:06

SotD Outdoors Mrs Gloss. I love how Sarah M does woody fragrances. I rather bizarrely got what seemed like coconut initially then it settles to this smooth warmth (almost vanilla like) but what I assume is the tree moss keeps it interesting and spikey and not too sweet. Absolutely like a walk in the Woods in Spring when you can smell the new growth. Longevity and sillage great on me. One of my favourite 4160Ts so far I think.

Ollivander84 · 06/03/2018 18:08

Count - that's one of my favourites. Find it v easy to wear too

auberginesrus · 06/03/2018 18:34

Ooh that sounds lovely Count.

Adds to list...

SoFancy · 06/03/2018 18:52

Arrived home to some Notino samples I thought were never going to turn up and in true Greedy Perfumista style, I am sniffing three at a time (each wrist + a forearm) Grin. Had sch a shit day, so this has cheer me up no end.

Forearm = Aedes de Venustas Cierge De Lune. Very, very nice. Reminds me of Addict when it first goes on, but then gets more powdery with a whiff of tobacco (just a tiny whiff, mind; not keen on tobacco generally). Its turning to a skin scent already after less than half an hour's wear, but its a real pleasure regardless. I think this would work beautifully in Autumn/early Winter for me. And for the price of a FB, thats the earliest I might be able to afford it anyway Grin

One wrist - Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin. Oh crikey. I love this. Rose on steroids. Bit of geranium, bit of greenness, touch of violet in the dry down. Monster strength. Absolutely bloody divine.

T'other - MFK Feminin Pluriel. I need this in my life. This is the sort of fragrance I could reach for every day. Very soft, soapy, expensive smelling floral. Extortionate pricing for a CBA perfume, though. One day dream...

(Dammit, I need a rich benefactor!)

SoFancy · 06/03/2018 18:53

One can dream....

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/03/2018 18:55

Oh I lurvvvve La Fille de Berlin. Utterly sumptuous rose.
