I have booked

Where? Are you going to be spending it sidling up to people saying 'where are you on the perfumista venn diagram?' and hoping someone understands?

auberginesrus · 05/03/2018 13:04

I really love the sound of Dryad but daren't try it cos FB is ££ Sad

Ollivander84 · 05/03/2018 13:12

Count Grin
I'm going to the tour date at Knutsford

OCSockOrphanage · 05/03/2018 13:27

Oooh, thank you for the link to the little atomisers: I've bought a few more so hope some will arrive and I can fulfil my promises.

Loving the sound of the Annick Goutal list, I only know the obvious ones.

SoTD (and rather lovely) is the Parfums de Marly Delina sample from TPS Latest Launches box which has been neglected for a few weeks.

It's a very dainty floral rhubarb and so pretty I can't leave my wrist alone. I shall have to eke this out, but I could easily be tempted by this for a spring scent. Bergamot, lychee, rhubarg and nutmeg topnotes, with rose, musk and vanilla at the heart, over vetiver, cedar, frankincense and cashmeran base notes. Apart from the musk, to which I'm completely anosmic, the early am spray has dried down but lasting well having become soft, while the lunchtime squirt on t'other wrist , is sharper and brighter. Reminiscent of the Hermes rhubarb ecarlatante from their eaux range last summer, or summer before, which I liked but didn't last on my skin. This is tempting........

OCSockOrphanage · 05/03/2018 13:30

I have just checked the price... it's not going to happen this month!

LibertyBlue · 05/03/2018 16:03

Ooh yes Sock the Marly Delina is lovely

SOTD for me is the sublime Bois de Illes by Chanel (thanks teta) beautiful Iris. Am in love with how I smell!

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/03/2018 17:27

The Marly sounds lovely - I love rhubarb notes.

Ollivander84 · 05/03/2018 17:47

Just sprayed ISO E super at work. Colleague sat miles away said oh my god what is that smell, I love it Confused I can barely smell it! She's obviously a perfumista in the making!

mrsreynolds · 05/03/2018 17:50

Hasbt sexiest scent for iso e super in it?

Ollivander84 · 05/03/2018 17:56

Yes, I think it has

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 05/03/2018 18:14

MrsR have PMed you. And PIAM will be delighted to save you some Obsession! I just wavered over putting it away as it's a definite winter one and I really want to get my Spring clothes/perfumes out. (Very very small bedroom, very very large clothes and perfume collections so I have to be ruthless).

I think Sexiest has Super E in it. I've never tried the Super E but really should. I wonder if that's why some people who are wrong Wink don't like it so much? Extremely tempted by the 4160s workshops and know the Botanist venues well Blush. I don't think funds allow but if I do book (and it's accessible) I will update. No secret Venn diagrams needed, if there is someone with a pink Mohican it's obviously me Grin

Fancy my tip for decanting (and I learnt this the hard way) is if you do it over a sink, line the sink with a folded towel, so if you drop it you don't break the bottle and your bathroom smells like John Lewis beauty hall for five weeks

Teta I hope your DS is recovering, scarlet fever seems to be making a resurgence - a friend's little boy had it but recovered quickly and very well.

Hope everyone has also recovered from the snow and all our online purchases arrive swiftly. I absolutely cannot spend any more money. Had a freebie squirt of Prada Candy Gloss today (this is the most exciting thing to happen to me in weeks Hmm)^^ and had high hopes re cherry/almond etc but it was just so bloody sweet I didn't even get to the drydown.

The PP Violet orchid is...pleasant. Might have also ordered the Rue Faubourg one Blush

I really should get on with my eBay selling. Instead of buying Grin

mrsreynolds · 05/03/2018 18:20

I've been trying to message you floofy but I'll have to go on my tablet - my phone app won't let me 😡

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/03/2018 18:40

Ahhh, that would explain it re: the Iso Super-E and Sexiest Scent. I do think I'm one of those people for whom it doesn't work (although I'm sure there are scents I love in which it's an ingredient!)

The Dryad is still going. Fabulous stuff. Ds and Dp have just headed out watch Palace get walloped by Man U, and leaving me to my own, blissfully football-free, devices for the evening. I will therefore be in my pyjamas, eating potato waffles and chocolate, and wearing 6 perfumes on each arm, in about 10 mins time Grin

Am also awaiting the paperback copy of Turin and Sanchez which Amazon says I should have in my hot little mitts by 8pm tonight. I have a borrowed copy of the hardback but I decided I needed the paperback in which to make notes Blush. Heaven!

Judydreamsofhorses · 05/03/2018 18:53

SOTD is L’Air de Rien. The snow is gone, but lashing rain all day.

fennel we’ve been invited to DP’s mum’s for dinner on Saturday, and I have cried off because I’m already meeting my friend for lunch. Am already excited about an M&S meal for one and trash telly.

CountFosco · 05/03/2018 19:23

My parcel from 4160T arrived. I now have Sleep Knot (getting lots of floral from this but the sillage can't quite compete with the other two) on one wrist, Amber Mambo (blast of that 4160 lemon then sweetness and woody resin, this is the one I can smell above the others, reminds me a bit of sunshine and pancakes but much more sillage) on the other and Outdoors Mrs Gloss in the crook of my arm. I love this one and DH doesn't but it absolutely does what it says on the tin, it's a walk in the woods. Lovely mix of moss and wood. Guess what I'm wearing to work tomorrow.

I really love the sound of Dryad but daren't try it cos FB is ££ Sad

But you could buy the sampler set and enjoy all 5 and have difficulty deciding which one you want the most, thereby buying none of them due to indecision. Gwan, gwan, gwan.

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 05/03/2018 19:30

Fennel potato waffles and chocolate together?

I'd love those 4160s workshops and £40 seems like a great entry level price. Was about to sign up for Birmingham then realised we're away for the Easter hols. Bugger bugger bugger.

Have had a good post day. My Orianne 9ml had arrived at work then got home to the All Beauty Guerlain bargains.

SotD was 31 Rue Cambon (incidentally- thirty one or trente et un?) cause it was a horrible day of back to back meetings. Tried Orianne back at home this evening- I do like this one. Clean and comforting.

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/03/2018 20:15

judy I'm appallingly anti-social these days. I love a cancelled night out.

cheap you mean you've never tried it Wink? Actually, I can't even tell you what I've eaten this evening so far because it's too lazy and embarrassing.

aubergines I highly recommend the Papillon sampler set - each one is a gem. Your parcel will be going in the post tomorrow btw!

OCSockOrphanage · 05/03/2018 20:27

If you got the Latest Launches TPS box, the Marly Delina is a real star; it has lasted from 8.30 am until now and is completely delicious. It is everything I want in a spring scent. I just don't want a 75ml FB at £150. Back to the ruinous but accessible scent sample sites to see if anyone has it, if I still want it after using up the 2ml sample.

LibertyBlue · 05/03/2018 20:36

That Marley is a trooper- I love a perfume that keeps on giving.

The Chanel Bois de Iles is the same. 12 hours on and it’s still radiating creamy woodiness, it’s gorgeous. Now, how can I get my mitts on a small decant/ sample please? I need this in my life and my current sample won’t last much longer!

LibertyBlue · 05/03/2018 20:41

Please can someone post a link to whathisname (Malcom/ Bernard / Trevor??) who sells decants of exclusifs?

pomadas87 · 05/03/2018 20:52

Hi everyone I'm a newbie to this board - you seem like absolute experts and I would love some of your brilliant advice!

I'm in a perfume rut and want to try something new and lovely. I usually wear Roger & Gallet Rose, Stella, SJP Lovely, Dior J'adore, and Hugo Boss Femme. In summer I love EL Bronze Goddess and the Nuxe parfum.

After some sniffing in various department stores and Space NK I realise I adore white flowers - e.g my favourite candle is Diptique Tubereuse, and I love Jo Malone Tubereuse Angelica (just not the price!).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a daytime perfume that is white flower heavy?

I also love neroli and find Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse completely intoxicating but the perfume didn't last well on me, and the oil isn't that practical.

Any suggestions would be fabulous!

SoFancy · 05/03/2018 21:11

Welcome pomadas.

If you like tuberose, a perfume I’ve just been introduced to by a perfumista on this thread is Diptyque Do Son. Very creamy, long lasting and lovely tuberose.

Have you ever sniffed Fracas? The classic tuberose fragrance, pretty powerful stuff. Madonna Truth or Dare is a reasonably priced gardenia/tuberose bomb which nods to it.

SoFancy · 05/03/2018 21:16

I’m less well versed in Neroli fragrances, but one of the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria range is Nerolia Bianca, which I really like. It’s a light, clean-smelling, creamy orangey scent. Quite low on projection, nice for spring/early summer days...

pomadas87 · 05/03/2018 21:17

Thank you for your reply SoFancy - have never sniffed Fracas but I want to now! And as a big Jilly Cooper fan I feel I really must ...!! Wink

Thanks for the Madonna tip - if fairly cheap I will give it a try perhaps. Haven't found the Diptique perfume but will definitely hunt it out next time I'm in Space NK!

OCSockOrphanage · 05/03/2018 21:18

Hi Pomadas, you might like the E Coudray Rose Tuberose... TPS Latest Launches box comes with a good size spray (8ml?). It's not me, but nice and lasts well. The other samples are also appealing and will give you an idea of what you do and don't like.
