Welcome all, old hands and newbies, to LFPT no. 11! Pull up a chair and tell us all about your new finds, old loves and burgeoning obsessions. Ask a perfume-related question and someone here will have the answer. Niche, mainstream, celeb scents, drugstore El Cheapos or hard-to-find exclusives - we love 'em all.

We are also doing the Big Sniff every Sunday, so please join us there too!

Finally got round to making a perfume parlour order! Have picked things I have never tried before, mostly in 3ml sizes with plans to order larger amounts if i like them. I ordered around 8 different ones so hopefully some of them will be winners Smile the copy of D&G feminine was out of stock and thats the one i really really want so will be keeping an eye out for it coming back in

auberginesrus · 03/03/2018 21:47

Ollivander I love the idea of a family password, we've never had one but I am going to instigate one!

Can still faintly smell the PP LBM I put on at 10am - definitely better staying power than the original

Have hopefully managed to attach a photo of my trolley when I was a t Tesco earlier, which amused me greatly Grin

Aubergine - it's really really useful. It started a bit because we had a family business and if there was something like a fire, you could say it without scaring customers! I used it as a teenager and would just text the word (pre stored text in phone) for a dodgy situation

positivepineapple · 03/03/2018 22:21

SOTE is Eau My Soul, top note is overpowering incense which is not pleasant, but after that quietens down a bit it is beautiful and interesting.
Warm Amber, vanilla, and touch of rose at the moment, I have a feeling this will change each wear.

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/03/2018 22:39

Eau My Soul is probably my favourite 4160. I think it's absolutely beautiful. Shame the full bottles are so expensive!

positivepineapple · 03/03/2018 22:59

Fennel I agree, I really want to get to know this better, I don't think 2ml will be enough for me.
I can't stop sniffing myself, I'm getting the tobacco now, and there's something lovely that I can't quite put my finger on just yet.

MrsGruber · 03/03/2018 23:58

They have winning ways with tobacco! The Great Randello, The Lion Cupboard and Rome 1963 - all fabulous.

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 04/03/2018 08:34

Gah I want to type lots but still tricky with hand, just wanted to say I can't find it now but whoever was looking for vintage obsession on eBay (MrsR?) PM me and I can send you a decant from mine? Already have done a small bottle for handbag and pleased to pass it on. Tis gorgeous and perfect for snow!

Loving the thought of us all scouring eBay, I'm sure we are all looking at the same things Grin Unfortunately my hand isn't stopping me from typing in bids, I must delete the app really!

Hope everyone not too snowed under, it's certainly a bad start to Spring. See you on the Big Sniff (like this one a lot)

mrsreynolds · 04/03/2018 09:06

It was me floofy
That would be wonderful thank you!
Sotd prob PP opium again

MrsGruber · 04/03/2018 09:48

Woke up to more snow this morning Shock

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/03/2018 09:52

pineapple, a good trick with EMS is spraying it on fabric (scarf or similar) - it lasts for ages! I have a woolly snood thing that I must have been wearing the last time I wore EMS and it still smells of it, despite the fact I've not worn the actual perfume for a good while.

mrsreynolds · 04/03/2018 10:17

Very foggy and misty here

Here too. SotD Big Sniff. Interesting but not really to my taste (I prefer the aromatics I got from Bloom this month) and it has gone after 3 hours.

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/03/2018 10:50

Our snow has all gone.

Am enjoying the Big Sniff but agree it's not got much longevity - skin scent already only 90 mins after a good few sprays. Might respray though.

SoFancy · 04/03/2018 12:27

Afternoon all.

Snow all melted and feeling slightly milder here today.

Got the Big Sniff on one wrist. Its really lovely, but not FB-worthy for me. Too many other fragrances I like/love more to make my ever-increasing list. Probably my favourite so far, though.

SoFancy · 04/03/2018 12:39

Oh, and I had egg and chips for lunch! I am a true Perfumista now Grin

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/03/2018 12:48

We've just had a huge fry-up, so the Big Sniff scent is being drowned out by the smell of bacon Grin

I'm the same fancy - really like this one but not enough for it to crawl it's way to the top of the FB wishlist.

teta · 04/03/2018 13:53

Wrappings today as I was feeling efficient and this is my can-do perfume. Then my youngest said he hadn’t slept because of the rash I’d forgotten about from yesterday ( looks worse today) n I googled it. Looks like Scarlet Fever!
I know it’s undergoing a bit of a resurgence but why us now?
He has exams next week.

mrsreynolds · 04/03/2018 14:03

I had a fishfinger sandwich Blush

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/03/2018 14:13

Map of the Heart has faded now, so am giving Mrs Gloss Indoors a go. This was a blind buy I got with the 40% discount. It's got a lot of mandarin orange and not much else at the moment. Little disappointing as I thought it would be a much warmer, cosier thing, but it's nice enough and might come into its own in the warmer weather.

UnnecessaryFennel · 04/03/2018 14:15

Poor ds, teta! Hope he gets better soon. Are they big exams?

Hopefully my bottle of Wrappings should be waiting at work for me tomorrow. Can't wait!

mrsreynolds · 04/03/2018 14:35

Hope he's ok teta

auberginesrus · 04/03/2018 14:50

Bad news re your ds teta, hope he's

SOTD Mon Guerlain - I like it and I'm not ashamed! Although not the most interesting perfume it's v easy to wear and suits me.

Have been car shopping today - so will have to rein in my perfume spending a bit now

auberginesrus · 04/03/2018 14:51

Sorry - should be hope he's ok! Blush

teta · 04/03/2018 15:18

He will be fine. Its normally mild apparently and needs antibiotics.Within 24 hours of antibiotics it’s not infectious. But I’m thinking he must have got it from school and I’m wondering how many others have it?
He’s just turned 12 but he has a intense week of exams for Common Entrance and has been revising Latin and French all weekend. Its a real effort getting a 11/12 year old boy to revise and now I have the extra delight of the whole process going on for longer.
