Sorry mrsr, it's a bit of a damp squib for me.

The top notes are very reminiscent of insect repellent (sorry!) and then there's about half an hour of lemon-meringue pie, which is nice...and then it disappears. I've got a vague woody/Iso-E skin scent now but it's barely there.

I will give it a proper go again though, I promise!

mrsreynolds · 02/03/2018 21:06

Nooooo!

😁

It's lemon meringue pie to start on me....
Then woody musky loveliness

It doesnt have great silage I agree
SM says it's a skin scent

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/03/2018 21:14

I don't get lemon meringue pie at all, just a sweet, woody smell. It's fine, but I don't love it. I imagine it's the name that sells it, rather than the scent itself. There are much better 4160s - Goodbye Piccadilly, Inevitable Crimes of Passion, the Lion Cupboard.

UnnecessaryFennel · 02/03/2018 21:14

I do get the lemon meringue, definitely. And I don't mind a low-sillage scent. It might work for the office - if I can get past the bug-spray top notes Wink

mrsreynolds · 02/03/2018 21:15

I adore it ❤

MrsGruber · 02/03/2018 21:49

I'm with MrsS.

I’m in L’Heure Bleue tonight after monster sushi —and wine— dinner. Sometimes only dusty old Guerlains hit the spot!

I love Sexiest Scent. It’s not sexy to me, though - more comforting and creamy and woody and just lovely. Definitely a skin scent after half an hour or so, but it’s meant to be.

The Sophia Grojsman of 4160 I say Grin.

SoFancy · 02/03/2018 23:00

I know we’ve done it to death but my ultimate 4160s are:

Sexiest Scent
Midnight in the Palace Garden
Centrepiece
Be careful what you wish for
Inevitable crimes of passion
Captured by candlelight
Amberama

Honourable mentions: sunshine & pancakes, what I did on my holidays

auberginesrus · 02/03/2018 23:11

I've got so many still to try!

SoFancy · 02/03/2018 23:19

Take your time, aubergine...the fun is exploring! Grin

toffee1000 · 02/03/2018 23:54

I’ve tried looking at the 4160 website but I don’t understand it Sad

Ollivander84 · 03/03/2018 00:00

toffee - which bit? I buy a lot from there

SoFancy · 03/03/2018 00:01

toffee- go to the scent shop and select 4160 fragrances, then scroll to choose quantity. Agree it’s confusing! If you need any pointers in actual fragrances, ask here x

Ollivander84 · 03/03/2018 00:02

SoFancy · 03/03/2018 00:03

I forgot to mention Ealing Green ! Divine. Although Ealing-bred DH thinks it’s rank. Sad

toffee1000 · 03/03/2018 01:36

Oh I get I now. I clicked on Fragrances and it had four options and I was like HmmConfused and then just noticed they’re the sizes, there aren’t just 4 fragrances GrinGrinGrin
Problem solved!!

mrsreynolds · 03/03/2018 06:44

I agree it's not sexy
Creamy and woody is a good description!

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/03/2018 08:00

I wish they'd redesign the 4160s website; it's clunky and I can never find what I want. Although bizarrely I don't seem to have much trouble finding the 'checkout' button...

No SOTD yet. Am up far too early on a Saturday morning to take ds into a thing at school, then out to lunch with a couple of friends, then hibernating until Monday morning, I hope!

Sexiest Scent may have no sillage but its longevity is pretty good - I can still detect a wisp on my wrist this morning. It's vanillary now (not Lush Vanillary Grin)

Ollivander84 · 03/03/2018 08:18

SOTD is now sexiest scent Grin
I love it, I was trying to describe it and all I can get is "smells like I was meant to smell"
It's just me Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/03/2018 09:24

I gave Oriane to DD2, who has had a hideous, traumatic week, and she is delighted with it. My favourite 4160s are:

Inevitable Crimes of Passion
Goodbye Piccadilly
Maxed Out

mrsreynolds · 03/03/2018 09:48

Sotd PP opium

MotherofTerriers · 03/03/2018 09:52

Todays tester is trefle pur
I like this one. Basil and orange

MotherofTerriers · 03/03/2018 09:54

Forgot to say, my daughter liked dark heart. Said it was vaguely Christmas puddingy. I think she might be much more of a perfumista than me.

auberginesrus · 03/03/2018 10:39

SOTD is PP Lime basil mandarin. Wasn't sure at first as it packs a punch, but quite pleasant now it's settled. Its DS1 approved - he was not keen on Oriane yesterday. DH by the way doesnt seem to have noticed anything much I've tried unless I stick my wrist under his nose. This is a good thing as there are some perfumes he actively detests.

auberginesrus · 03/03/2018 10:40

Mother my kids both liked Dark Heart too.
