SoYo love that jumper on you, and the jeans look a really good fit. I love the dress too... very tempted by that dress I have to say! Shame about the Florence skirt for you.. I was surprised I liked it so much as I didn't have high hopes to be honest given the reviews. Mine is a 10 and is definitely snug around the hips.

Nearlyadoctor · 02/03/2018 20:00

Laska I was also thinking it would be a perfect wedding outfit if we had one this year - but we don't Grin. Also have a very rural lifestyle, think horses, dogs and reindeer!! I seem to spend my life buying clothes for a lifestyle I may have ' just in case' but in reality wear jeans, wellies and riding gear 90% of my downtime.

Work is smart but not dressy!! The pink shoes look lovely (4-5 week wait but having seen them with the dress on the model know nothing else will quite match up)'

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 20:00

Thanks Ella I'm becoming more apple shaped as I become ancient there's something to look forward to (not) so on me the skirt was flowy on hips but a bit snug at waist...will mull it over but first instinct was a no. If I'm still undecided I'll post a pic and ask for honest feedback.
The dress fabric is truly lovely and a keeper if it weren't for that pesky little button gap at boob level 😢 I could try and sew a small clip on thingy as it is a small gap but I expect no less than perfect fit for the cost. Do not size up as although the fabric is not stretchy it's very generous elsewhere and if you're not big on top I'd even recommend sizing down.
On the ❤️ Sweat I'm so surprised it's a very generous fit everywhere and sleeves really good length in a M so some small advantage being a short arse...just goes to show that sizing is highly dependable on your shape but we all agree on quality/style Smile
And the jeans are super comfy. Yeay!

Laska5772 · 02/03/2018 20:05

Hmm.... why does the Love sweat look great on everyone but me?.. Wah !! (perhaps ill try the medium..)

soy I have widish feet but not too kipper like! I can usually get in most things (but never Italian shoes, or Italian anything as I discovered on recent visit to Florence ) ,

nearlyadoctor .. Intrigued at reindeer are you in Sweden perchance?

Laska5772 · 02/03/2018 20:06

nearly its the 'Fantasy lifestyle' thing! I know it well Grin

Laska5772 · 02/03/2018 20:14

Soy I've given it one last go ..ordered Yellow Love sweat in M and L.. I have only done this because I have had 2 Wines already this evening and its all your fault OK?

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 20:20

Laska Grin @ kipper feet! Thinking of changing my username now 😂
Mine are deffo e fitting at Clarks and depending on style can wear normal human shoes wishful but in Italy I did find it very very challenging too!

I'll think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the sweat M fit and you know you just needed the excuse to ❤️It again Wink

Nearlyadoctor · 02/03/2018 20:31

SoyYo the sweatshirt and jeans look great on you. I've already bought both and despite my 10 yr old Dd telling me the jeans were ' a bit too trendy at my age' (46) am really pleased with them. So comfortable with a good bit of stretch, similar length on me I'm 5'4.
I have a gorgeous pair of M&S kitten heels but the pink is too pale to match the dress, if they bring out some navy or bright pink ones in the near future the Hush pair will be returned and I will hopefully saves £££'s

Laska Devon actually!! We're on a farm which also has a farm shop at Christmas 🎄 selling lots of trees, so keep 6 reindeer as an extra attraction. When I read what everyone else buys I think they must have a much more ' London Lifestyle' than me.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 20:31

I love the love sweat. Haven't worn mine yet. Its the crappy weather and the fact that I am not going anywhere!!! Just slinging my old sweatshirt on in the house. Its also freezing tbh. I have been wearing my jada tunic on my trip to the shops as its so cosy [also want to get my money's worth while its still wintry] Plenty of time to wear the love sweat with spring coming eventually. Love the jeans on you Soyoh. This thread is just too tempting!!! I had written them off because of the writing down the side but they are a nice shape. Then again, I have too many jeans as it is and really want a pair of nice vintage blue skinny jeans. I am buying no more. Really cant afford it. Spent way too much as it is. Decided to return the star tee - I do really like it but its too thin and I keep picturing how crappy it will look after its been through the wash a few times. The French blue V-neck linen jumper. It looks nice but I don't love it. May re- order when I get rid of my spending guilt. I am still waiting for the money back from one order, then for this one [whenever I can get to the PO] and then I have an order coming god knows when!

Some lovely keepers there @soyoh!

My order also arrived today. Wont keep it all........ the Lacey dress is definitely going back as sadly looks like a shapeless sack on me, gutted as lovely fabric. Like the nancy dress BUT £70 odd quid for it!!!! Really not sure it is worth that although I will get wear out of it. Love the blue sweat so keeping that and on the fence about the star jeans. They are super soft and slouchy. The fabric at the crotch is a bit baggy though. Thought about sizing down but my bum wouldnt fit!

I think I'm suffering from cabin fever so first Thank You for the kind comments Flowers

nearly on reading your message I asked by 25 year old supercool DS if his 55 yr old DM looked ridiculous and try hard in those jeans. He looked non plussed and said "mum they're fine not much different from the skinnies you usually wear" Wink

Sorry for the enabling posts as I say it's the cabin fever getting to us but the jeans are truly lovely

Theonlyoneiknow · 02/03/2018 20:56

I also had an M+S order come today after 20% off and got these trousers which go nice with the blue sweater. Slight hijack but they are the first trousers (not jeans) I have bought in years!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 20:59

I love everything on you Theonly The jeans look fab as do the two dresses!!! Sorry to enable you!
Soyoh I think the dress looks really nice. Could you not wear a slip under it?

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 21:01

I love the raglan sleeve in that colour. Think I might have to order it. Its the neckline on me. It gets sloppy after washing. Anyone else find that? I have ordered the baby blue on in xs to see if that helps.

I love seeing things in RL!!!

Nearlyadoctor · 02/03/2018 21:06

SoyYo your son is definitely an enabler, I can't see that they're that dramatically different to others of mine except the writing but perhaps that's just my Dd being picky - I love them and they're so comfy.

Theonly I actually think the Layla dress looks lovely on you and not at all sack like. It is a bit of a different shape for me than I'm used to, so could that possibly be why for you? The Nancy dress doesn't look as if it is as good a quality material as the Layla but obviously difficult to tell from a picture.

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 21:08

theonly sweat looks good and so does the Lacey, I couldn't wear such a loose shape without everything just hanging off my boobs and making me look like a sack of potatoes...so my advice (for what it's worth is ponder on it for a bit longer)
Also like the trousers you've a great slim figure! I'm after M&S discount for kitten heels for kipperfeet so if anyone has one please PM me.

never I'm pondering I think the small boob gap could easily be sorted with an invisible little sew-on clip but like theonly wondering if it's worth the hassle. At sale price deffo worth it, at £60 odd quid not so sure...

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 21:11

I also like the Layla dress on you. I don't think it looks shapeless at all. Its a nice shape.

OP posts:
Theonlyoneiknow · 02/03/2018 21:14

Thanks all, the Layla dress is also a bit too long. Because I am such a short arse I need to wear skirts just above the knee so I would need to alter it sadly. It is lovely heavy material though. The nancy dress is 100% viscose.

Seeing RL photos of others definitely helps purchases (maybe not always a good thing!)

I love the blue colour @never. The issue I have with these sweaters (this is my 4th, oops) is that they sit on the edge of my bra cup if that makes sense so need to wear something underneath (or buy better fitting bra probably, has to be padded though which doesn't help!). Will try jeans on again tomorrow and Nancy dress with tights and biker and decide!

Am keeping an eye on return stock back into the JL sale too. I will be in Glasgow/Edin over Easter so hoping one of the JL there stocks Hush Smile

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 21:16

I think the Glasgow one does now. Someone posted on here. Rarely have time to go into Glasgow though and certainly not venturing right now!!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 22:36

Well I ordered the French blue raglan in xs. Cba waiting for hush to post it so ordered from JL and will get it delivered free to a shop near me on Sunday. Not sure it will arrive on Sunday but you never know!!!! Grin Lets hope it fits me!!

It says though that I need my passport for proof of who I am. FFs!!! Need to dig that out then!

OP posts:
Theonlyoneiknow · 02/03/2018 22:43

I have never been asked for my passport just something with my name on it? That is madness!

noodlezoodle · 02/03/2018 22:44

My parcel arrived last night and although the box looks like it was kicked all the way across the Atlantic, the contents were still in good shape. And much to my relief (because the overseas delivery and returns make me cross), everything in it is lovely!

Diamond t-shirt - the long sleeve grey t-shirt with copper print - lovely and a nice 'posh' t-shirt. I'm a size 14 and the large fits well - slightly slouchy which is what I was going for.

Leith silk tee in black/orange stars - this is LOVELY. Cut really nicely and hits at the high hip point so you don't have to worry about tucking it in (I am hopeless at doing that fashionable front-tuck thing), but it's not cropped like so many things seem to be at the moment. Size 14, fits perfectly.

Finally the Tabitha skirt. I know a lot of people in the reviews aren't liking this but I'm really pleased with it. As people have noted, it is more coral than pink and the lining stops at the knee. It has a ribbon waistband and a zip, so doesn't have any 'give' in it like some of the elasticated waist skirts. Slightly too tight for me at the moment but I am definitely chubby in the middle right now so I'm keeping it and hoping that after a couple more weeks of WW it will fit nicely Smile.
