In Dublin here and we are on our second snow day, not returning to school/work till Monday. Advised to say indoors from 4pm today till lunchtime tomorrow due to 'life-threatening blizzards'!!! Everything shut down at 1pm today. We have a decent amount of snow, first time since 2010, and are expecting up to a metre to fall overnight. I live on a main commuter road and I have seen 3 cars pass in the last two hours. It is eerie. (I am not expecting my Hush order till at least next week LOL).

Love the skirt, ella - I have it in the other pattern too but haven't worn it yet. Too dressy for work and haven't really had too many evenings out recently.

Ellapaella · 01/03/2018 21:48

Thank you all for the positive comments about the skirt.. I'm definitely keeping it, wish I'd got one in the other pattern as well. That's got to be it for a little while for me, spent far too much money with Hush over the last two weeks. Still a few things I have my eye on though.. I loved the pink balloon sleeve sweater when I tried it on and love that pink/peach star skirt. I'll probably get a few more T shirts as well for the summer as I really like my pink star tee. Would love to see some pictures of all your buys! Nice to see it all in real life.

Theonlyoneiknow · 01/03/2018 22:04

After seeing the Florence in RL have just ordered from John Lewis although fear it wont suit my shape! thanks for sharing @ellapaella

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 10:00

Well according to tracking my parcel hasn't moved from Leeds or if it has its not reached my delivery office. Not surprising really considering the weather. Maybe tomorrow. I will remain hopeful. Not even sure the PO is actually even open and I have parcels to post via ebay too. Maybe try and take a walk up in my wellies!!!

I'm not doing much else today and feel as if I have been living in a cave for days.

I I had an order arrive yesterday -

Black washed military jacket: it sure what the fuss over this is about, I don't like it at all (though am not trendy enough to pull it off probably!) looks like some second hand shop find from the 90s to me with a dodgy frayed hem

Pink Rainbow Tshirt : really not sure about this one. What's with his new 50%polyester, 50% cotton mix. Not sure I'm willing to spend £40 on something like this. Quite like it though...

Green striped boxy Tshirt - again not sure, looks thin and errr...boxy. Very expensive for what it is and wonder how it will wash. At least it's 100% cotton

Raw edge linen stripe tops - really really thin, unflattering on my middle, going back

Herewegoagainagain · 02/03/2018 10:51

magickingdom82 how did you find the sizing on the pink rainbow top? I was contemplating that one!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 10:56

Sounds like you haven't had much luck with your order Magic.
I love the raw edge of the linen tops. I didn't see they had a striped one. The one i have is plain. They look good with a vest under them. I kind of like that scruffy look! I have no idea of the black military jacket but love the washed look and would consider getting it if I didn't have so many jackets!!!! I have the pink rainbow tee though and I like it. Not worn it yet but I like the shape of it. The material makes it feel more robust. I do agree that the tees from Hush are v expensive for what they are.

magickingdom82 · 02/03/2018 10:57

It's generous, I took a medium and a size 12 with very overweight tummy but it disguises it quite well (I think/hope!!!)

magickingdom82 · 02/03/2018 10:57

Sorry that should say I am a size 12..

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 10:57

I have it in a small and its generous. I would probably size down in it Herewegoagain

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 10:58

I am a 12 and have the small and I find it generous!

I liked the black Military jacket scruffiness, magicking but I am quite 'Citizen Smith'! .(would like to wear it a beret /soviet badge, DMs and Marina skirt ! )

.However I didn't keep it because it was so big , and really I do have enough jackets.. I may reorder it later though..

I also love the raw edge linen Ts, but I like them to be large on me . Love them with a vest under also and with my marina skirts.

magickingdom82 · 02/03/2018 11:24

Yes I'm a size 14 in complete denial...was a size 12 in the last decade and desperately clinging on to that Wink

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 11:41

Laska I agree that the long linen tops need to be baggy. I have ordered mine in a medium despite my size in Hush being a small. I really like wearing them with a hush vest and the linen top over it. Kind of shabby chic. I have actually had lots of compliments but I think it is the French blue colour on me rather than the top itself.

I wonder when my order will come [ponders the weather]...

neveradullmoment99 and magickingdom82 - thank you! I thought the XS looked very roomy on the model but it's so hard to get a realistic idea from those pics!

I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant so no idea what size/shape I'll be after a couple of months! Was a 10 pre-pregnancy so it's guesswork now. Just looking forward to being in non-maternity clothes again and couldn't resist getting a few things Grin

Being snowed in means it's all too easy to be browsing.....

magickingdom82 · 02/03/2018 12:31

Has anyone got the linen star cut out tee? What's it like?

Nearlyadoctor · 02/03/2018 17:46

I have decided ' Snow days' are dangerous! Ordered the pink sling backs to go with the Layla dress ( they will have to be a perfect fit at that price). Also ordered lots of summer clothes for Dd 10 from Monsoon ( 20%off till tomorrow) plus 2 summer dresses for moi!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2018 17:54

I have been avoiding the Hush website. I think those shoes will look lovely with that dress :)

I just got pulled into the Jigsaw S&B thread .. luckily I had a good laugh and left..Grin.. although the Parisienne thread not so (as you'll see if you look at the Raey coat I just linked to!) ..

Snow day here has also seen me on the John Lewis website looking at new furniture ( we have just redecorated our lounge.. ) This is even more dangerous than Hush ..

Laska5772 · 02/03/2018 18:01

nearly i lust after those pink slingbacks! but really. They will have no place in my semi rural mud-covered lifestyle especially after I retire .

Sadly no weddings to attend this year either , all nieces etc safely married (except one and given her age that's not likely yet ! )

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 18:39

Hellooo Just stopped working (I work from home with frequent travel but Eurostar cancelled my train on Thursday and stuck home all week with the snow)
So today my second Hush parcel arrived and Here is my verdict
Hush Love sweatshirt in M I'm so surprised! Love it and it's perfect and loose fit, maybe the mistake I made with the Green one was to order a L but anyway the pale yellow suits my colouring better than the Green. Thanks for your recommendation it's super comfy and maybe not so flattering on me with large boobs but it's ❤️And a Keeper.

Embroidered jeans in 12 super comfy and keepers. Relaxed enough to make a nice change from skinnies but slim and fitted enough that my flat arse doesn't disappear as it did with the boyfriend style. Super stretchy I think I'll need a belt. Word of warning I'm only 5 3 1/2" tall and they're cropped on me so anyone 5 6" and above may find them too short. I'll keep and hope I don't kick myself for being too hasty if they appear half price in the sale as they're not cheap.
Also keeping navy Amies. More flattering on me than harems, though I think my old harems fabric is thicker/better quality. Still love harems but honestly Amies look better on me and will be super useful as an alternative.

Returning:
Leigh Silk t shirt lovely fabric, ordered 14 and its huge on me. Should size down but the boxy style and high neck doesn't do me any favours. Shame.
Shame also about Florence skirt, size 12, had high hopes but a bit snug on the waist though I could get away with it I thought it didn't suit me as much as Ella...mulling it over.
Sale Mona Devore skirt also going back. Adore fabric. Size 12 roomy. But too short and young in style I think I look too try hard in it.
Also returning sob sob sob the lovely Emanuelle dress, this is lovely fabric. Fits me perfectly except for a gap between buttons at boob level...Angry you can only see it sideways but I'm a 34FF so a 12 would be fine on anyone up to 34E cup I reckon. I'm not sizing up as a 14 would be huge everywhere else...so so sad to return it. I recommend. Useful pockets too, note length on me just covers my knees so would be above knee on anyone over 5 5''

In the interest of MN Hush support community Wink I'm attaching some photos with apologies for random cats and the fact I never do selfies so very crap at it. Flowers

rainbowfudgee · 02/03/2018 18:51

I haven't ordered anything yet but like the look of most of it! How do you all find the quality to be? Is it worth the money?

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 19:06

rainbow its hit/miss this is why this thread is so useful.
Some classic things like Stella jumpers and harems are good value for money and also flattering if you like the style. Jeans tend to be good quality but it's the cut/style that elevates them rather than the denim quality (IMHO) which is similar to Gap, Levi, etc
I tend to splurge at sale time or when there's a discount on.
I would say I return around 50/70% of what I order over a year, mostly because it doesn't flatter me rather than because of serious concerns about poor value for money/quality issues. That's just my opinion.

SoyYo · 02/03/2018 19:22

nearly those pink heels are lush!
I'm never tempted (luckily for my bank balance) by Hush shoes as I've fat feet so need a wide fitting.

Laska I think you're my shape twin! And I think I read in one of the threads you also have wide feet? hope I don't sound like a creepy stalker If that's the case I recommend Gabor shoes but also M&S wide fit shoes, they've got some super good dupe Hush kitten heels in wide fitting so I'm thinking of buying some again. I've had them in bright electric blue which went beautifully with my Hush blue/black lace skirt and super comfy for the odd night out for very little £
