Yes, Piccadilly does something very odd on me, it's such a shame because I love the idea of it. Proper toothpaste vibe - I think it's probably the lavender but my skin just turns it screechy and weird.

I made the executive decision not to buy any perfume this month after having a gander at my bank statements for the last few months ...so am very jealous of your 4160 purchases, MrsR.

I'm still not very well but have to go and do a bit of shopping and then tackle some housework, so am comforting myself with some lovely Dune.

MrsR will always be Sun, Moon, Stars or ET Diamonds and Rubies to me, as she introduced me to both absolute beauts . Or maybe --Dior Addict, as we became addicted around the same time...

My 4160 2018 mods arrived this morning- I only ordered yesterday morning! Very impressed by their customer service. I also purchased a 9ml of Silk Lace and Chocolate as my sample is running out and I’m addicted.

I have Amber Mambo on one arm and Amberama on the other. I love both but my DH just came into room and said it smells awful- on closer Sniff it’s the Amber Mambo which offends him.

Amberama is a beautiful oriental Amber with sweet red berries (apparently raspberries) but for me it’s more Turkish delight - so a sweetened sticky rose dusted in icing sugar. It’s really rather lovely. But I’ll have to report back later as I’ve only been wearing it 45 minutes. It stays quite close to the skin. The closest perfume I have is Shay and Blue Framboise Noire, but it smells quite different to this.

Amber Mambo is much bigger in projection and has a big blast of citrus - lemon at first and settles into lime. It does remind me of Spanish soap but I like it. There was something fizzy about it to start with, so a bit lemon sherbet but that’s settled a bit now. I can see why some get cola - I sort of do but it’s more citrusy to me.

Both are on the gourmand side of oriental as they remind me of aforementioned sweets.

They both sound lovely, Bluebell, especially Amberama. I’m a sucker for gourmands lately, though...

Eeeeek I am late to the thread but have have caught up now, and also with the Sniff.

Firstly you are lovely Perfumistas I have had so many lovely offers and little treats through the post, thanks to all kind vipers! I will also try and pass on any I can to share the love :)

I have literally just tested Sexiest Scent so haven't had the dry down yet but on first Sniff it is indeed gorgeous! God I just love 4160s, the ones I like I absolutely love and they are like crystal meth! Or the perfume equivalent of Dreamies for cats

Yes their porcelain doo dahs look good too (for my hair drawer perhaps ) Now, did I imagine it or did Chanel do teeny similar ones on bracelets, or ribbons as jewellery, I have a distant memory of getting one as a freebie? Does anyone remember?

I’ve really loved wearing Amberama but sillage and longevity mean it’s pretty much gone now so I’m now in Silk Lacd and Chocolate which I love (DH not so much). Can’t remember if it was Pest who got me into it with a sample.

SsotD have been one dab of Youth Dew on one wrist and a few sprays of Amber Mambo on the other, for comparison purposes. The best way I can think to describe this is mother and daughter. YD has the staying power though - still there now after dabbing at about 8am, whereas I've resprayed AM a couple of times. Loving the YD drydown and still smitten with AM. Will have to fight the urge to bump tomorrow's planned Avery for more of this stuff!!

I'm intrigued by the porcelain whatsits but also wonder how long you have to leave them before they lose all trace of a scent? I could see them being a more rigid version of the scarf of a thousand scents.

Hi Everyone, SOTD here is Clinique Wrappings. Have a bit of a love hate relationship with it, it’s sort of soft and warm and headachey brash at the same time.

I’m tempted to try some more 4160s but not sure which. I have a few of the Gloss collabs and they’re nice enough but not completely sold.

Has anyone heard of 100 Bon? It’s a new brand available on John Lewis website- looks interesting and it’s quite cheap. They even have travel bottles available for £12 (10ml) not that I need more perfume

Wearing Pure Distance Opardu today.Its so smooth and perfect I’m finding it difficult to pick out the individual notes. I can sense a green lilac, a vanillary muskiness and it smells expensive and luxurious .As indeed it is .
I received my Pure Distance White bottle in the most beautiful padded white and gold packaging .Distinct opulent religious inferences there. I remember the little prayer book I received on my first holy communion was white,padded and gold and I just adored it.Along with the really pretty rosary that glittered in the light....

bluebell & janetstwalker I’ve ordered some little 1 ml vials so I can send you the perfume sample. Its pure perfume - I have a very dainty 15 ml bottle , but it needs to be dabbed rather than sprayed.
I’ve had to order a pipette and new vials as I’ve never decanted proper perfume before. I’ve also decided to keep the perfume as it smells fantastic in this cold weather. The warm winter weather in Melbourne didn’t do it justice.

Been viewing houses. Two were a definite no as soon as we stepped in them. The third was absolutely gorgeous and had the space we need and layout we want but it's on the boundary of our preferred secondary school's catchment and the nearest alternative has terrible Ofsted reports. We have a doer upper in catchment to view next week but dread to think how much cash it will swallow.

The 5 sample discovery set is still on my wishlist but... just to check... was the 3x15ml sample set for 114 CHF there before Christmas when everyone got the LADDM samples? 15ml pretty decent size - one could - just in theory of course- splash out or go in with two fellow perfumistas...
