Botox for '11' lines

DavetheCat2001 · 16/01/2018 09:33

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

I had botox a couple of weeks ago, which resulted in me having 2 black eyes and bruised nose, the injection for the 11s was too far down i believe, it was actually on my nose bony part and she said that is where it is normally injected, i have never had it so low down, however, one of my eyebrows was higher than the other,so when i went for top up, she said i will put a bit more on that side, but now my eye lid seems to have dropped and my eye looks half closed compared to the other which looks really good, its only been a few days so might improve yet, [hopefully]
Where does your practitioner inject you for 11s, if you have botox?
So disappointed really as i also had upper lip lines filled a few weeks ago by the same lady and they are fine

lovemylover · 28/01/2018 09:48

To add, she said the reason the black eyes happened is because i am only very slim and not enough flesh on my nose ,
I am not skinny, just slim, but it was really painful, just that bit, and she was panicking because it went into a lump, she gave me an ice pac, and i used arnica, but i looked as if i had been punched hard
Still have a bit of bruising, i sent her a photo, and she said she was really upset as it had never happened before
She has a good reputation and my daughter goes to her and had good results, so maybe it is just me

userxx · 28/01/2018 09:53

Jesus Christ!!!! It should never result in black eyes, have you used this lady before for Botox ? I'd be finding someone else for in the future, where abouts in the north are you - Manchester or further up? I don't have pronounced 11's but I think she injects eyebrow level but a tiny bit further down, nowhere near my nose.

Don't panic, it will only be temporary.

Can I ask if most people get a top up? I've always been happy with the initial treatment and didn't feel the need for any more.

userxx · 28/01/2018 09:55

How many people have flesh on their nose though? I'm carrying a bit of weight at the moment but my nose still feels pretty skinny!!

OrdinaryGirl · 28/01/2018 09:57

Dave it will kick in tomorrow. Smile You'll feel that area slowly seizing up so you can't frown at all. It's weird! Don't freak out.

Love your experience really isn't normal, and bridge of the nose was way too low down to inject for 11 lines! I am horrified that this happened to you. Was this a beauty salon type place?
The closed eye is not going to improve if the Botox was 2 weeks ago. Please contact the place you had it done and complain, with photos.
It will wear off in about 3-4 months, but there is no reversal.

In future I strongly recommend only going to a proper aesthetics-trained GP (ie qualified medical doctor).
Dermaskin have 3 clinics in England (on in the south west, in answer to a PP) and I can thoroughly recommend Dr Sid Gautam. He has done Botox on my horizontal and 11 lines (I alternate between these areas and this avoids me looking 'done') as well as vermilion border filler (very subtle lip plumping).
He is outstanding and will work with clients to understand and manage their expectations. He wants people to only get amazing results - not least because if they don't, it reflects badly on him! At £120 per area for Botox, it's kind of a no brainer for me.

lovemylover · 28/01/2018 10:08

I agree, whose nose really has fat on it, i think thats all she could think of to say, everyones nose is bony,
This lady is a nurse or maybe ex nurse ,not sure,
She has a lot of years of doing botox and fillers,
I must just be unlucky i think, as about 3 years ago i had upper lip line fillers and ended up looking like homer simpson, it turned out she was inexperienced and had used the wrong fillers, too thick, which are normally used for lip fillers, it took 3 months for her to get some hyalanase to dissolve the stuff
My fault in a way as i should have researched her more, but this time this lady was recommended

lovemylover · 28/01/2018 10:10

I can physically lift it, if i lift my forehead with my fingers, but otherwise it droops

lovemylover · 28/01/2018 10:24

Sorry, forgot to say im in North Yorkshire, there are so many places here offering botox and fillers etc, everywhere you look there are ads or notices in salons and on facebook
I went to her because shes a nurse
One of the dentists here offers it, might try him next time
I dont drive so have to stay local really

DavetheCat2001 · 28/01/2018 11:01

So sorry you have had a bad experience love

I agree with the PP tough that I would not want to go back to the same woman anymore. Hope you are recovered soon and can find someone else to see in the future x

ThANK YOU, YES WILL LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE NEXT TIME AND SEE WHAT THEIR OPINION IS OF MY EXPERIENCE
Sorry caps on by accident

lovemylover · 28/01/2018 14:28

Me again sorry, just looked in the mirror and have a deep crease on one side of 11s and slight on the other, so for sopme reason the botox hasnt seemed to work on them at all,
Sickened, will ring her tomorrow,
Also going to check if i can on google exactly where injections should be put

DavetheCat2001 · 28/01/2018 15:00

Oh no poor you.

Can you at the very least ask for your money back??

OP posts:
lovemylover · 28/01/2018 15:27

I will see what she says when i ring her tomorrow, but she insisted that she injected where she should, but i have just watched a video and recorded it to show her, that she didnt inject where she should in the soft fleshy part between eyebrows, the video shows the Dr marking the spots where injections go,, and she injected me lower down, it was so painful i actually cried out that it hurt, and it was on a bony bit
I am wondering also if ahe used a weak version of botox if there is such a thing,
I do know she has fillers in differebt stregths, but my forehead feels very loose,if you know what i mean, i can easily move it up and down with my fingers, and when i do i can lift the eye to open it more
Anyway i will see what she says and send her a pic of the lines, which did seem to have gone, but back now ,one as deep as before the other only slightly
Even my crows feet are still there
I think she might have got new stuff, as her fillers are new with 5 different strengths
Will update when i have spoken to her
Thank you for reading and comments

userxx · 28/01/2018 18:48

Lovemy - I wouldn't go back and see her to be honest, as ordinary girl says see a trained aesthetics gp. Why is she advertising fillers in different strengths? Sounds to me each strength will suit different ££££, not good.

lovemylover · 29/01/2018 07:51

All strengths are same price.but she might have used new stuff she hasn't used before.

DavetheCat2001 · 29/01/2018 08:29

That doesn't sound right to even a rookie like me love

Why on earth would she think using stuff she hasn't used before on you was a good idea??

How are things today?

OP posts:
lovemylover · 29/01/2018 08:47

Not sure if she did use something she hasnt used before, just wondering if thats why it doesnt seem to have worked well,
There is no difference this morning, but the left side of my forehead where bad eye is seems slack, and can lift with my finger then eye looks like it should, just waiting for my phone to charge then i will ring her
I only wondered if she had used something new as she used something on my fillers that came in different strengths, and wanted to start gently, as once had fillers put in which was too thick, and i was pleased with that, hence why i went back to her for botox, maybe she used weaker stuff there although the other side is fine,
I might just get a second opinion
I looked online at a video od a Dr marking someone forehead and she definitely didnt put the botox in the middle of my brows as he did, i have taken a pic of it and will send it to her

lovemylover · 29/01/2018 09:01

This is where injection should have been put, not lower down

Botox for '11' lines
FacelikeaBagofHammers · 29/01/2018 11:32

Any change this morning Dave?

lovemylover · 29/01/2018 11:32

Contacted her and she said it wont have dropped any more as she didnt put much in ,sent pics but said she cant tell from them and doesnt want to add anymore,
I have said i will get a second opinion

DavetheCat2001 · 29/01/2018 15:48

I think there may be a small improvement Face..I still have a prominent frown line though, so am hoping that within a few more days I'll see more of a change.

OP posts:
ddrmum · 30/01/2018 18:48

Any change Dave?? Love, so sorry it's not as good as it should be. Fingers crossed it'll get sorted.
I have quite deep 11's and frown lines which have appeared recently (lots of stress) so hoping that I can gain a less 'cross' look!!! Do any of you know if fillers would be better for the 'smile' lines (forgotten the proper name!) ?
Will be making an appointment.....

DavetheCat2001 · 30/01/2018 19:51

Yes apparently for those smile lines they use fillers. I was interested in getting my mouth lines done too!

I think my 11's are a bit better. OH thinks they look reduced but I can still scowl and the lines appear although not as prominent.

I guess as it's not even been a week yet things should improve further, if not I have a follow up a week on Friday so can ask advice and a top up if necessary.
