Botox for '11' lines

DavetheCat2001 · 16/01/2018 09:33

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

Can you still frown Dave? I couldn't at all after a week - you may need a top up. I had 5 injections in total

TheGrumpySquirrel · 01/02/2018 16:55

I mean in 1 go (not 5 top ups!)

DavetheCat2001 · 01/02/2018 17:39

I can frown a bit Squirrel.

I have however also compared a pic of me frowning 2 days post botox and a pic just taken, and the lines are better now, but still there and I can still frown a bit.

Maybe I will need a top up. I have a follow up next Friday Smile

I just want the rest of my saggy old face sorted now! Grin

How are you now Dave any improvement? have you had a top up today?

DavetheCat2001 · 03/02/2018 07:58

Morning love.

No my top up is next Friday (2 weeks after the initial treatment).

I think there is definitely some improvement, however one of the 11 lines is still there so wondering if I might need a bit more in that side.

How are you? Is the bruising going down?

OP posts:
lovemylover · 03/02/2018 09:14

Oh sorry got fridays mixed up,i would have thought it would have kicked in a bit more by now, but still early days, and better thn what i got, so room for improvement yet
I still have slight bruising and now have thread veins ubder my eyes that i didnt have before, on my bad side the deep crease is still there, but eye has shut a bit more, feeling a bit depressed now
So glad i took photos now
I was advised to apply for damages too, so im thinkingb about it
Going to try to see a denti9st in town who gives these treatments, if i can get in and if he will see me
I have written a letter giving her 14 days, to refund me, and if no response will take it further,
Her website says she is insured anyway,
She has her house down as a clinic, and as if there are a few people working there, but its just a house and her
Anyway will update if any more developments
Hope yours kicks in soon, its lovely when done properly

DavetheCat2001 · 03/02/2018 09:31

I would be tempted to review her online wherever you can once you have agreed a monetary settlement as it doesn't sound at all as if she should be carrying out these proceedures, and it might save someone else from the same horrible outcome.

There is no way she should be doing this.

I took another photo this morning and can see there is definite improvement.

Yes i have thought about reviewing her on her website, but havent done ---yet,
I am pleased you are seeing a difference, its always best to have less rather than more to start with, at least it can be topped up
By next friday you might not need more
I have heard nothing back from Save face who she is accredited with, might just get in touch with them again

Aridane · 03/02/2018 10:08

love - would reiterate earlier suggestion to go to your GP to check i) no long term / permanent damage, and ii) to get it on your medical records if you need to take this further than a refund...

Hi OP, I go to the same botox Dr as you and she is really fantastic!
She does tend to be very conservative with the botox the first time she sees you, just because different people are affected by it in different ways.

I had my first appointment with her at 10am, and my forehead was completely frozen by 3pm. I told her at the top up and she was very surprised it had happened that quickly, as she said she had only used a very tiny amount to see how my face took it, and she was planning on putting more in at the top up when she saw how much movement I had.
In the end she didn't put any more in my 11s and just a touch more around my eyes as I wanted my eyebrows to lift a bit more.

She hates for her patients to have an unnatural frozen look, so will always do it in baby steps until she knows your face.
She'll definitely put more in at your top up if you still have movement and visible lines though!

lovemylover · 04/02/2018 09:46

Aridane i am going to see if i can get in to see this dentist here who does botox etc,
I am sure this bad eye would lift a bit, my forehead skin on this side is very slack, and easily lifts when i manually move it,the other side is very tight
I have to see my Dr soon though anyway, for a review, also about my ribs, which i think i have cracked ,just with moving from a certain position, also got a torn ligament in my knee, very painful
Really not my lucky year up to now Hmm

DavetheCat2001 · 04/02/2018 11:54

NotAnArtist do you see Dr Mica or Dr Beata?

It's very good to hear that you rate her! I know that Dr Mica is meant to be amazing but has a waiting list of about 3 months! Dr Beata apparently was brought in to help as she is so over subscribed!

Hi everyone, I’m 29 and considering starting getting Botox. Has anyone else here started fairly young? I’m not going to ruin my face by starting now, am I? A few people on here (on a thread I started) have said I’m too young and hinted that I’ll ruin my face. I do have lots of wrinkles that have appeared in the last 6 months. I have been busy having children for the last 5 years and I have neglected my skin somewhat. I thought it would be better to start now than to leave it for the wrinkles to become more deep set. Hoping you guys might be able to give me some advice? Thank you Smile

Aridane · 04/02/2018 16:52

I don’t know, sorry - only started in my my late 40s

Ollivander84 · 04/02/2018 16:57

Mummy - I'm 33 and booked in for my first lot next weekend Smile

HangingRoundInABofAlorsStance · 04/02/2018 17:03

Hi, botox virgin here :-)
When you are not actually able to frown, does this in any way actually affect your mood/anger levels?
Asking for a friend ;-) me

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/02/2018 18:01

@Mummybo88 I'm 31 and wish I'd started before this frown line got so entrenched!

NotAnArtist · 04/02/2018 18:08

Dr Mica. She really is amazing.
I don't know Dr Beata, but I really can't imagine Dr Mica bringing in anyone who wasn't great!

Mummybo88 · 04/02/2018 18:09

Ollivander84 oh that’s exciting 😆 good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Ollivander84 · 04/02/2018 18:11

I will! I want it for my horizontal forehead lines and my vertical ones (11s)

Mummybo88 · 04/02/2018 18:12

TheGrumpySquirrel - see that was my thought process! People have said that starting early will ruin my face, which is really scaring me.

NotAnArtist · 04/02/2018 18:12

Mummybo88 I first had botox when I was 24 because I was young and stupid and thought I needed it.

It's not damaged my skin/face at all. If anything I'd say I look younger than I should because of all the years I spent in my twenties not being able to move my face!

Mummybo88 · 04/02/2018 18:13

When you are not actually able to frown, does this in any way actually affect your mood/anger levels?

Oh, I’d love this to be true! Grin
