Botox for '11' lines

DavetheCat2001 · 16/01/2018 09:33

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

I have sent pics i took and also contacted consumer protection to see if i am within my rights to ask for a refund, ,as i have had to cancel 2 appointments and an evening out,
I was told it came under negligence, as someone experienced should know where not to inject and she probably hit a blood vessel,
Under consumer rights i am entitled to my money back and more for distress the lady said, but i am only going to ask for money back
It has put my daughter off going again too, she thought the lady should have offered me a refund anyway, seeing the state of my eyes,
As it happens,i just found out today, that my dentists wife is Dr and has a clinic, so will see her maybe next time
I only found out as i was ringing to cancel my appointment and checked his website as i had forgotten the no
Thanks for replying

Dave hope your botox has kicked in by now,and you are happy with it,

I have asked for a refund, she says she doesnt do refunds, so next step now as advised by CAB ,she should have a complaints procedure

DavetheCat2001 · 31/01/2018 16:14

Oh no love.. she sounds lije an arse! I hope you get your money back via advice from CAB. Sounds lije she shoukdn't be trading with an attitude like that.

So it's day 5 and I'm maybe slightly disappointed that I haven't seen as much of an improvement as I was hoping, however I know it's still early days.

If botox or bocouture have been used the onset is slower and can take up to 21 days to see maximum effects. That’s why I tend to use azzalure (dysport). The onset is faster, but it’s not suitable for those wanting a very mild effect eg there is a risk that the bits injected will be completely frozen. I use Azzalure on myself x

DavetheCat2001 · 31/01/2018 18:56

Thanks fruitcider.

I think i'm just being my usual impatient self! I gave a folliw up a week on Friday anyway.

Dave i am sure you should have seen a bit more improvement than you have, but it is still early days, in sure it will be fine, at least its not gone wrong, thats one good thing, I have complained to Save Face, who most are accredited with, and i have heard of 2 more people who have stopped ging to her, but dont know the reason, my daughter wont go anymore and neither will her friend or partner who was pertsuaded by my daughter to go, hes probably relieved tbh

aftertheevent · 31/01/2018 19:50

Just had botox for first time. Wonderful. Wish Id tried it sooner.

aftertheevent · 31/01/2018 19:52

Went to a proper skin clinic and had a very experienced lady do it. Also asked for the minimum amount to have the desired effect. No side effects and its bloody miraculous.

aftertheevent · 31/01/2018 19:53

Botox usually takes up to 2 weeks for effects to fully show,

Oh my goodness love..you poor thing Flowers

I honestly think the woman who did yours is a charlatan and the fact she doesn't want to even give you your money back is simply dreadful.

Are you looking to take any action against her? Those pictures tell the story very clearly.

Lovemylover so sorry for, that's awful. She needs to stop practicing or go on a training course. Start a complaints process or see a solicitor. You should be refunded and compensated for the distress. She will have insurance for this.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 01/02/2018 10:18

I have been following this thread as I am on the fence about having botox. Love I am so sorry you are going through this. Well done for pursuing her for a refund and compensation. Hope this gets sorted out very quickly for you Flowers

10outof10 · 01/02/2018 11:01

I'm so sorry that's happened to you 'Love'. Your therapist should be able to prescribe drops to help with your drooping eye. It works quickly, helping to open it up again. I've had Botox myself and am prone to bruising but never like yours.

lovemylover · 01/02/2018 11:27

Thank you all , she says she doesnt give refunds, and says she has done what she w3as trained to do,
I didnt really like posting these, but also waned people to know i wasnt exaggerating, the bruising actually got worse after a few days
As you can see my swelling on the nose, is where she injected, can also see a red mark, not sure if on these pics or closer up one i have
I will ask for these pics to be removed later,
I am definitely persueing this i cant go anywhere,

Aridane · 01/02/2018 11:32

love - that is absolutely horrific

DavetheCat2001 · 01/02/2018 12:02

My god she should not only be refunding you immediately, she should be paying you compensation for injuring your face!!

What a total cow.

So angry for you love. Please do keep us posted with how things are going x

Tanks yes will update when i know what is going to happen, already reported to Save face who accredited her
I do understand that things can go wrong, but never known anything like this

ddrmum · 01/02/2018 14:21

I've made an appointment!! Very nervous but excited- also impatient like Dave!!
Love - OMG that is shocking & she is disingenuous at best - a totally unprofessional & unacceptable response.
I was chatting to my sister about this, and she mentioned that she got an email from Harley academy clinics, so is tempted by that as it appears to be good value. I'm presuming she would be being 'practised on'?? Has anyone used them? I told her to check reviews, websites, social media etc. It makes me a bit nervous tbh...... visions of her with a wonky face

CaraBosse1 · 01/02/2018 14:32

Love - have you been to your GP?
She needs reporting to the proper regulatory body.
You deserve a refund and compensation.

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 01/02/2018 14:46

Love, you have every right to be absolutely raging. I hope you get the compensation you deserve, that's just shocking.

Has anyone found that Botox has helped with tension headaches? I have a really overactive 'brow' and I feel like I'm constantly frowning. As a result, I feel like I have a band around my head and suffer from headaches quite a bit. Does it help?

Aridane · 01/02/2018 15:34

Love - I would go to your GP to check i) no long term / permanent damage, and ii) to get it on your medical records if you need to take this further than a refund...

TheGrumpySquirrel · 01/02/2018 15:51

@FacelikeaBagofHammers yes it helps a lot! Feel so much better when I can't frown

DavetheCat2001 · 01/02/2018 16:07

My frown line is still there. It's a week tomorrow since I had it done. I know it's 2 weeks for the full effect but the area doesn't really feel frozen at all. There is some improvement but nowhere near as good as some of the before and afters I have seen on here.
