Botox for '11' lines

DavetheCat2001 · 16/01/2018 09:33

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

Watching with interest. I'm also 37 and my '11' frown lines have become much more pronounced lately. I feel like they really age me. Does anyone reading this have any recommendations for the south west?

WhyOhWine · 16/01/2018 19:11

any recommendations for central or north london?

Aridane · 16/01/2018 19:20

I can recommend Skin Health Spa in Marylebone High Street. Get on their text offers as a few times a year they have buy one area of Botox, get one free. I have 3 areas of Botox done

Aridane · 16/01/2018 19:20

(walking distance from Bond Street or Baker Street)

LabradorMama · 16/01/2018 19:28

I have my 11 lines fine and a horizontal line across my forehead done. I’ve found a great practitioner after a bad experience last year with a different woman using a different (inferior) product which set like bloody concrete in my face and gave me headaches.

Everyone is different and if you have a fast metabolism it’s likely that Botox will wear off faster than it might otherwise. Mine wears off pretty quickly so I now have a double dose and am gradually spreading out the doses. The first four doses were 12 weeks apart - this means it doesn’t get chance to
Completely wear off in between appointments.
I have plenty of movement - this is what I wanted as I don’t like the frozen look. Movement is good as long as the lines aren’t there when my face is in repose.
As a pp mentioned, I’ve noticed my forehead is a bit shinier but it’s a small price to pay. My 11 lines made me look so angry all the time!

HorseItIntoMe · 16/01/2018 19:39

I can’t recommend it enough ! I have it between my brows and at the corners of my eyes

I’ve had it twice now, I just look so much more awake and refreshed. Agree with others as well It has improved my moods as I physically can’t frown 😆

I do know what other posters mean about the shiny forehead though but it’s a small price to pay

The chap I go to is a dentist but trained in facial aesthetics in Harley street. He is absolutely fantastic. I’m in the midlands if anyone wants his details pm me

Capricornandproud · 16/01/2018 21:15

whoareyoukidding .... now that I think about it you're right. My forehead is a bit shinier, not that I really mind. Wonder why that is! Just currently sat admiring my blanched look in the front room mirror 😂😂😂

ilovesaladcreamandbeards · 17/01/2018 18:02

I finally took the plunge on Sunday, and I'm not joking, my forehead is already looking a million times better! I also had the 11's and crows feet done, but no change there yet at all! I will report back when it kicks in! I'm surprised I see such dramatic changes in forehead already! Already hooked! I'm 42 and although my resting face lines are not too bad yet, when I smile or raise my brows, I think I like ok terrible! I just finished chemo in October, and think it has aged my skin terribly, so I have secretly gone out and had Botox 😂 I've no shame! I won't tell a soul!
Can't walk past a mirror without checking to see if anything new has happened!

I'm in Edinburgh and it cost me £220 for 3 areas, it was going to be £270 for 4 but she said I only needed 3 :-)

DavetheCat2001 · 17/01/2018 18:28

Oh wow thanks for posting Salad!

I'm really excited actually..just wish I didn't have to wait another week to get mine done! I'm actually thinking whilst I ma there I might see if she can do my forehead lines too as they are really prominent on one side..nice!

Well done you for getting it done..sounds as if you deserve it! x

Dave, you totally should! I've never had such smooth nice skin on my forehead before, I feel like all my blemishes have gone! It doesn't feel like I have a heavy brow either, I just felt so much more confident today walking about! Go for it! X

janinlondon · 18/01/2018 11:58

Alitttleconcerned: No, a second practitioner tried the second time....though he had access to the records of the first one so knew how much had gone in where and so tried a higher dose.

ilovesaladcreamandbeards · 18/01/2018 12:40

Janis, did you still have full movement of your head etc? It won't eradicate deep set wrinkles, they are still visible if very deep, but it will stop you being able to wrinkle them up iykwim, and stop them getting worse xx

janinlondon · 19/01/2018 13:45

Is that to me ilovesaladcream? Yes full movement at all times. No change at all. Nothing. I tape my 11s at night - and in the morning they are not visible for several hours. Guess thats the best I can hope for!

Artura · 19/01/2018 14:08

I'm seriously considering having my 11s done too, but one thing that concerns me is that I need to do a "concerned and sympathetic" look at work (I'm a GP) and I'm worried I'll just look blank!

ilovesaladcreamandbeards · 19/01/2018 14:13

Yes sorry, my phone must have changed Janin to Janis! That's such a shame that it just didn't work! I did read a doctor saying that very very occasionally he will get a vial if non-active Botox that just doesn't work? I wonder if it was just that? Yeah, those frownies seem to work really well too! Xx

ilovesaladcreamandbeards · 19/01/2018 14:14

Artura, I was concerned about this too, but there is still slight movement and to be honest the eyes convey these emotions too, so I don't think it's much of an issue :-) Imits so worth it! Xx

plumstone · 19/01/2018 15:09

I have my forehead lines and 11's done by Dr Martin at DestinationSkin on Maddox St in London - he's ace!!! Difference in my resting bitch face is amazing and I no longer look "angry" all the time and much less frowny- not one person in real life has ever asked if I have had botox!! One person asked "what I had done to my face" but couldn't specify what was different - that for me was the test!!

Gohackyourself · 19/01/2018 21:03

Harley street academy do x3 areas of Botox for £150.
It’s administered by doctors training to do Botox hence why it’s cheaper.
I’ve had 4 ppl recommend them and good reviews so I’m booked for Wednesday ...eeek.
I need forehead done, I’d like my under eyes and crows feet to go, an possibly my grin lines at sides of mouth- don’t know if they will treat these areas( if you can have Botox in them if anyone knows?)

Fingers crossed Grin

Aridane · 19/01/2018 21:04

Botox can do crows feet. Grin lines and under eyes would be filllers

ilovesaladcreamandbeards · 19/01/2018 22:53

Ooh I didn't realise you could get Botox on the grin lines? I was told it was for the top part of the face generally, and fillers for the bottom part. Thought if administered around mouth, it could leave you with a wonky smile? I have tiny grin lines that I would like sorted. I'm going to ask about Botox for them when I'm in for my follow up :-)

Aridane · 20/01/2018 08:49

No, sorry - fillers for grin lines and indef eyes. Assume you grin lines you mean noise to mouth??

But Botox will do those lines to the sides of the eyes ( crows feet).

Or I might be misunderstothe terminology

DavetheCat2001 · 20/01/2018 09:14

Can you use Botox for those lines between the sides of the nose and mouth?

The one's that look a bit like this ====> ( )

OP posts:
Aridane · 20/01/2018 09:41

No - that’s fillers you’ll need. The results are instantaneous

DavetheCat2001 · 20/01/2018 09:51

ah ok, thanks.

The more I look at my face, the more I see I would like to improve! Grin

Has anyone had the fillers in the marionette/mouth lines and does it look natural?
