Anti Boden thread!

Think it might just be me, myself and Irene on this thread cos I get the feeling every other mumsnetter lives her life according to Boden!

Boden never really bothered me before, other than just thinking it was overpriced and for 'nice girls', but since I've realised the obsession with all things Boden on Mumsnet I now can't stand the stuff and it I can feel myself being irritated by the whole look of it!!!! I would never let a piece through my front door!

Boden Schmoden!

bit itchy though

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 12:54

I went to a Boden clearence sale recently. Now that was an experience! A whole warehouse of women trying to be terribly polite, while elbowing you out of the way, or ruger tackling you for the last 2-4 years t-shirt.

TeeCee · 19/04/2007 12:55

How much???

Oh and just so you all know - short sleeves are back! PMSL - Fuck off Johhny!

£45 for a vest top!

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 12:57

Tee cee, you should get together with my DH, you can start a Jonny hater club.

AnnabelCaramel · 19/04/2007 12:57

But it 'elevates any casual outfit' - you can't put a price on clothes that can fly!!!

TeeCee · 19/04/2007 12:59

PMSL! Yes that's true.

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 12:59

I like Boden. I'm not boring, and I don't have too much money, but would love to be. Life would be so much easier.

TeeCee · 19/04/2007 13:02

You'd like to be boring?????

OP posts:
chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:03

Not as much as I'd like to have too much money!

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:05

I'm oftern described as "interesting", like a badly cooked dish at a dinner party. Not because of my clothes, I do look OK, just my peronality.

TeeCee · 19/04/2007 13:05

LOL, oh I see!
So if you had extra money you'd waste it on £45 for a vest top?!!! See that's why your wish for more money isn't being granted!

OP posts:
chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:07

LOL Teecee! I don't actually like that particular top, but I do droo over some of the girls clothes. (For my dd, not me!)

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:07

drool

Bectheneck · 19/04/2007 13:07

that's just 49 pounds worth of horribleness

My sister wears stuff like this (although I think even she would draw the line at that skirt) and she's one of those women that you can never imagine having a really good time sex-wise.

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:09

Just for the record, I would never, ever wear that skirt.

AnnabelCaramel · 19/04/2007 13:09

'to throw on at the weekend' - as in throw up????

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:10

Becktheneck, just checked your profile, I was worried you might be my sister!

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:13

Hav you noticed, all the yummy mummy Boden wearers are out in the sunshine playing with their children and haven't come on this thread to defend Johnny?

LittleSarah · 19/04/2007 13:13

I agree with you TeeCee, tis very mumsy and so much it ludicrously overpriced!

Nbg said - I'd never even heard of Boden pre MN. Indeed, neither had I.

TeeCee · 19/04/2007 13:15

PMSl Bectheneck - that skirt is vile! And properly PMSl at 'one of those girls you can never imaging having good sex'. Wonderful! That's so what I meant by 'nice girls' but I so prefer the way you worded it, it sums it all up so much better!

OP posts:
bettys · 19/04/2007 13:18

Ah but nobody ever pays full price, you wait for one of the many special offers or the sale.

PrincessPeaHead · 19/04/2007 13:19

I've never bought any boden women's clothes. Did buy a pair of boots once but that's it

I think they are dull dull dull dull dull and I'm just not that kind of boden person

I must have spent 1000s on kids stuff over the years though. That's the trouble with living 40 miles from the nearest Gap, it is just easier to buy online for them.

chocolateface · 19/04/2007 13:21

Shhhh, Bettys, don't tell people about the sale!

Bectheneck · 19/04/2007 13:22

Heh, don't worry chocface if you were my sister and wore Boden I'd still talk to you - on the phone.
