Does anyone fancy a thread to discuss the products as we open the drawers? Quite a few people seem to have it this year from what I've seen on here.

OP posts:

I got the Pomander candle. Delighted, as I think it is a perfect Christmas fragrance.

I have been really happy with the calendar, the make up products are all shades I will wear.
Bal d'Afrique is my perfume, so I am delighted to have the hand cream.
I adore Byredo products.

I echo, only slightly, the "too many cleansers" opinion. I would have liked a moisturising product in place of one of them. Having said that, I will use them up as a way of selecting a repurchase.

I also had the John Lewis calendar, I think it was £30 cheaper but not a patch on the Liberty one. In particular, there are four fragrance minis, only one of which is bearable!

bellabelly · 24/12/2017 16:25

My card today said Pomander but the box says Roses! Haven't opened it yet to see which is correct. Really wanted the Pomander...

peanutbutter310 · 24/12/2017 16:39

I got the Pomander candle. Burning it now and it's the perfect scent for Christmas!

It was my first year with the calendar. A couple of disappointments but that's to be expected with these things, and overall I enjoyed it.

caggie09 · 24/12/2017 17:32

I also got roses but the card said Pomander! Ohwell, im still very happy!

LavenderHills · 25/12/2017 07:37

I love the perfume! (And suspect I am one of the few who had no idea what the last product was going to be) Grin

Merry Christmas, everyone!

chloechloe · 25/12/2017 09:13

Happy Christmas everyone, it's been lovely opening the calendar with you all! I opened my last boxes a few days ago before we headed off for Xmas. I am in love with the perfume - so unusual and dneljs si much more complex and sophisticated than most perfumes. I'd never heard of Le Labo before so think this may prove to become an expensive habit!

I was wondering about the JL calendar too decided against it because of all the perfumes.

bellabelly · 25/12/2017 09:41

Happy Christmas, everyone! LOVE the perfume, definitely going to be buying that when it runs out.

caggie09 · 25/12/2017 09:42

I love the perfume! It has been fab doing this with you all. Hope to see you again next year. Merry ChristmasXmas Grin

Is anyone interested in stopping anything from the Liberty calendar? I’ve got quite a few things I won’t use. Drop me a PM or post!
I’ll have a sort out tomorrow.

Ivytheterrible · 26/12/2017 22:04

Swopping... Blush

Dozyoldtwonk · 26/12/2017 22:06

I’d be interested @Ivy - what items are you thinking?

Ivytheterrible · 27/12/2017 08:51

Any of these ones? Also the perfume but I’m not sure where it’s disappeared to right now.

Very pleased with the last two days, I got Pomander. Also love the perfume - was there only one fragrance this year? I got The Noir.

On balance, and despite a few repeats from last year, I do think this year's was better for me - I will use pretty much all the items and was lucky in the shade options. Last year I definitely had about 4 or 5 bits I knew I just wouldn't use and passed on.

I don't think I will get next year's though, or will certainly check the contents out (or at least the brands) more carefully as I'm finding what used to be very niche brands seem to be ubiquitous in beauty boxes/ advent calendars/ GWPs these days and it is getting a bit samey for me - I'm a bit of a beauty junkie though so this could just be me!

onemouseplace · 27/12/2017 10:50

Also - on the perfume - love this brand now, and may just spend the cost of next year's calendar on a full size bottle! I got Santal 33 last year and have had SO many compliments about it.

Dozyoldtwonk · 27/12/2017 12:35

@ivy definitely interested in swapping for your perfume and Aveda - what items would you like? (may be better to send me a PM).

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 13:37

@Ivy

I would be interested in swapping your Margaret Dabbs cuticle serum and Byredo handcream for my Malin Goetz lip moisturiser and QMS travel mask (I did try a tiny bit of the lip stuff).

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 13:37

I am wanting to swap the Le Labo Noir 29 Perfume if anyone wants to offer anything in exchange?

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 13:39

^ I have had a few squirts of the Perfume to try but it’s practically full

ShiftyMcGifty · 27/12/2017 14:07

Oooo, bbrow products in Liberty’s! I got their highlighter from tk maxx for £3.99 Grin

chloechloe · 27/12/2017 14:46

bluebell If ivy doesn't take you up on your offer, I'd be interested in taking your Le Labo perfume in return for my cuticle oil, hand cream and the lava lipstick from the LF calendar (saw you liked it on another thread). I live in Germany though. Also I would only be able to post things after 7 January as we're away until then.

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 14:57

Hi Chloe thanks that would be awesome! Ivy is also trying to swap her perfume. I don’t mind posting to Germany, but I need to check with Royal Mail first because I know there are some restrictions on sending perfume by post.

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 14:57

Or Chloe do you happen to be in the U.K.? I can post tomorrow if you are

BluebellGal · 27/12/2017 15:01

Chloe I just checked and you can only send perfume to U.K. addresses as I thought. Let me know if that’s possible and I can send tomorrow Xmas Smile

chloechloe · 27/12/2017 17:24

Hi bluebell! I've just PMed you as you could send it to a relative in the U.K. who is coming over soon.
