Liberty advent calendar thread

Does anyone fancy a thread to discuss the products as we open the drawers? Quite a few people seem to have it this year from what I've seen on here.

OP posts:
GertrudeBelle · 21/12/2017 08:12

This is really disappointing for those of us who got the calendar last year.

The Eve Lom, Dr Sebagh serum, Byredo hand cream are all repeats of last year. It's getting boring now. If the candle is the identical to Last year's I am jumping ship to LF next year.

Housewife2010 · 21/12/2017 08:48

It's a different candle.

onemouseplace · 21/12/2017 09:21

I opened yesterday's and today's this morning and was pretty annoyed to get two repeats of last year on consecutive days.

I do like the Dr Sebagh serum, but I got some in the Latest In Beauty Harper's Bazaar box, so I already have plenty and it's not a HG product for me.

BluebellGal · 21/12/2017 09:56

I’m very pleased with the byredo Bal d’Afrique hand cream today, but it sucks that it was in last year’s calendar.

Pomegranatepompom · 21/12/2017 11:12

I really like this hand cream and am pleased to get it again.

chloechloe · 21/12/2017 16:01

I am having a rubbish day (night weaning 12mo and she's not happy about it). Soooooo I opened the 25th as we are away for Xmas and I love love love it. Totally the star product of the calendar for me.

VictoriaPeach · 21/12/2017 16:25

Cedoren - the value of the Liberty Calendar is £500 to answer your question. (I work in the industry and get most of the calendars. This along with the Harrods and Jo Malone is one of the best

VictoriaPeach · 21/12/2017 16:41

Dotty - yes I agree with you. I have dipped in to a few advent threads and the level of whinging has been high.

The contents are clearly displayed before you buy. There are no surprises.. you get to see exactly what the calendar contains before you part with any money.

This calendar especially is high end and excellent value. It's one of the best around. And still people moan and whinge. It all sounds so spoilt and entitled to me.

AgathaRaisonDetra · 21/12/2017 17:18

I cannot believe the whining on this thread. I'm going to hide it. Your moaning is spoiling it for the rest of us.

BluebellGal · 21/12/2017 17:28

Ooh excited to open day 25 now! I have noticed that after 2 weeks of using the Margaret Dabbs nail and cuticle serum, my nails look really good. They have been flaking and splitting/ drying out and becoming brittle. Now they look glossy, I have no dry skin on the cuticles. I’m really impressed and will repurchase this product for sure.

BluebellGal · 21/12/2017 17:29

^ oh and most importantly the serum has stopped my nails flaking off and splitting. So I’m really haySmile

BluebellGal · 21/12/2017 17:29

*happy

chloechloe · 21/12/2017 17:34

I'm on the M&S thread too and the level of whingeing is high. I don't get it really. The ACs generally offer a huge saving against the RRP so if there are a few bits you don't like, it's no big deal. If people are so particular about what they want to receive they should check out the contents in advance.

Going back to yesterday, I am loving the serum. It's incredible how much it tightens, smooths and plumps the skin!

VictoriaPeach · 21/12/2017 17:39

Yes it's awful. It sounds so spoilt, as I said. They're supposed to be a little treat aren't they? You know what you're getting

Some folk will whine about anything

Piccolino2 · 21/12/2017 17:42

Loving the hand cream, I have such dry hands so this is always appreciated. I’ve loved this calendar and may repurchase again next year. Going to be sad on Boxing Day when the treats end.

Alwayslasttoarrive · 21/12/2017 18:27

I’ve noticed an improvement in my nails since using the nail and cuticle serum too - love it and will repurchase. Have generally loved these daily treats, and can’t believe I’ve only got a couple of boxes left to open (have to confess that I’ve opened the 24th and 25th already as will be away. LOVE contents of both). I will definitely be purchasing this calendar again next year..........

caggie09 · 22/12/2017 08:09

Pippin i imagine it was the same thing thats leaked!
Im really torn, id love to try the Harrods calendar next year but its far to expensiveShock Think ill stick to Liberty. The last 2 days are the reason i bought the calendar, and id get it again next year for the same products!Grin

MathsFiend · 22/12/2017 08:11

Like the colour of this lipgloss, and I really liked the trish mcevoy lipstick last year, so this looks good. Would have preferred lipstick to gloss, but still a thumbs up from me.

Piccolino2 · 22/12/2017 08:55

Really pleased with today. I got the red. I was really hoping I would as I believe there is another colour that wouldn’t have suited me. Can’t wait to try it later.

onemouseplace · 22/12/2017 10:08

I'm pleased with today's as well - I've also got the red and I've been meaning to try a really red lip colour for a while, so it's a thumbs up from me.

I've popped all the make up into the make up bag and having a look at it all together, think it's a pretty good selection. I'm quite picky about make up which is why I tend to go for GWPs/ ACs that are skincare heavy, but the selection in this one has been good.

BulletFox · 22/12/2017 10:39

Piccolino it's lovely (I had the red).

I tend to put a dab of lipstick on rather than the whole shebang, so the consistency suits me well, the colour is really pretty

Stitchosaurus · 22/12/2017 16:59

I've still got the hand cream and serum from last year Blush am determined to do a better job using up my stash in 2018!

I used the shampoo and really like it actually.

Love today's lip gloss - wearing it out tonight.

I've been mainly happy with the calendar this year, despite some duplicates. Bet I end up buying it again next year! Although I might try LF as most people seem to be raving about it.

Pippin8 · 22/12/2017 20:55

I love this lip gloss, I got the red too. A tiny bit goes a long way & it’s not sticky or claggy.

MathsFiend · 23/12/2017 09:08

Hmmm,.... I knew there was a votary product in the calendar so was looking forward to it. I would have been more interested in a cleansing oil if we hadn’t already had 4 cleansers already. The product itself looks interesting, just wish there were fewer cleansers in this calendar.

chloechloe · 23/12/2017 09:38

I opened the rest of my boxes yesterday before we headed to my PIL for Xmas and I Leibe the last few days! I'll definitely be getting this again next year, along with the LF one too. I'm a complete beauty junkie and love trying new products and I just think this is a cost effective way of trying things out (well if you can ever call luxury beauty products cost effective!)
