some comfortable red heels happy me. Not expensive but fabulous on.........and

DryWhiteagainW · 08/01/2018 18:36

Idiot shoes

DryWhiteagainW · 08/01/2018 18:39

Since I’m having a grey moment I picked this to try and see if it would work before investing. The style and colour is good for me, not as touch as black. I’m also finding grey works well with my wardrobe. Blingy most definitely faux this time Wink

DryWhiteagainW · 08/01/2018 18:41

Good grief, one day back at work and my brain is addled [[http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_36194+094497003_-1 jacket ]]

and again Confused must be the cold

DryWhiteagainW · 08/01/2018 22:24

I’ve killed the thread with my plastic jacket Shock

shopafrolic · 08/01/2018 22:47

LOL Dry having been able to see you model it I think there’s better out there. The shoes are sexy as hell though.
Just finished watching Hard Sun - I can’t tell if there will be more or if the world ends five minutes later. Anyone else?

DryWhiteagainW · 09/01/2018 07:41

Thanks Shop and I've been sucked into Clique.....excellent recommendation just wish I didn't have to go to work today, fancy a day on the sofa binge watching in fleecy dressingown Grin

shopafrolic · 09/01/2018 08:00

So pleased you like it Dry
I couldn’t stop thinking about it, loved the fashion and the concept. The whole thing of girls getting sucked in by the cool crowd. I had to watch the lot over two days.
If anyone else is interested then be quick. My iPlayer said it would expire in a couple of weeks.

libertyonhertravels · 09/01/2018 09:12

Can't get i-player here damn it!

Not that keen on the jacket Dry - sorry. Great work on the shoes - I used to wince every time you said you had the Boden ones on Grin

Exercise tips needed - what are the best exercises for your tummy?? Mine suddenly looks awful - I'm on an 'exercise every day' mission for January, can't join a gym until I have a job as cannot justify the cost. Am mostly hill walking and jogging and doing lots of squats, lunges etc but need something that will target the tummy. I hate sit ups - find it hard to do them without hurting my neck/back.

Everyonelovessparkles · 09/01/2018 09:31

Nice KG shoes dry, no way could I ever walk in those! The sensible shoes link doesn’t work for me.

Have you tried doing ‘the plank’ lib? This is good for the stomach and other parts of the body. You can build up the time you hold it for. Or you can do it a couple of times a day. I find this helps my mum tum. Have a look on Pinterest for some routine ideas.

Freezing again here today and so grey. In the office. Am wearing my brown suede skirt and cream / good spot top that I wore to a MU with the black suede LKB ankle boots.

Inspired by shop and her new shoe purchase, i was perusing the LKB shoe sale. I really like these flats and the heeled version and these nude heels. Just not sure which ones to go for as I like them all and they would all fill some gap.....

Dreamqueen · 09/01/2018 11:42

I love your party outfit Shop. The shoe boots are perfect.

I'm on a no spend January but I'd ordered this All Saints Bales jacket in December. The 12 fits slightly tight but all the reviews say that it will stretch. I'd tried All Saints jackets on in September but didn't see this one in the store. The sleeves seem shorter and a better fit than on the ones I tried on. Smile because I orered it in Dec it doesn't count in my no/low spend January.

In an attempt to apply makeup better I've bought lip & eye primer and an under eye concealer. I've been following the skincare thread & actually been using products daily instead of just plonking them in the bathroom cabinet.

Also following the French thread trying to up my style game. There's some great advice on there.

Blingy your way of putting together smart casual outfits is fantastic. I love how you put it all together. I love the idea of cashmere joggers but looking at the sad state of my lounging at home clothes, they wouldn't look good for long.

Gorgeous jacket Dream

Fairylane · 09/01/2018 15:24

The Faye arrived but I am not keeping it. I am thinking of saving instead for a St Laurent Sac du Jour or maybe a Fendi 2 jours.

Everyone love the rainbow trainers so much. I am very tempted by them. The nude LKB heels are my favourite.

Marsha I have gold GRossis – but they are not as shiny as those JC’s. I wear them more than I thought. I also have silver shiny heels and flats from J Crew (old) which I have also been good for work (neutral but really lift a plainish outfit). I have glittery gold GRossi’s too but they are too much for day to day but good for nights out – I should try to wear them more. I like that IM top, good balance of floral and cool-girl.

Dry those red shoes were a good buy.

Shop that is a perfect outfit and the JC bag will top it off.

Blingy I ordered the cashmere joggers. Does someone else have them too? Have decided to send back most of what I ordered from the sales – so crossing my fingers these will be as good as promised.

After being so annoyed with the Outnet last year I gave them one last chance – and they failed. Impossible to do a return – I can’t see how they can keep the same prices while they give such a bad customer experience. My bank balance will benefit though as I was meant to have a no spend Jan Wink Smile.

Thanks for all the shows recommended – will add them to my list. I’m busy watching first series of Stranger Things with OH (too scared to watch on my own), Master of None and The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.

Do any of you listen to podcasts?

Dream beautiful jacket. I wore my Whistles black leather biker one today and I love it so much.

I am also inspired by the French thread and have ordered subscriptions to some of the magazines Botemp mentioned in the first thread – Gentlewoman, Kinfolk and Cereal. Also Vestoj. I am aiming to cut down spending on S&B this year so trying to distract my imagination with these.

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2018 19:01

What put you off it Fairy? I really like the Saint Laurent bag, good choice, haven’t looked at the other one

I haven’t done any podcasts, I hear people talk about them a lot perhaps I should try

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2018 19:01

Great jacket Dream

Stokey · 09/01/2018 19:20

I watched Clique Shop - went to uni in Edinburgh so was quite an eye-opener, bit more grungey in my day but definitely still a moneyed set. Am going to check out Hard Sun. We've been watching McMafia, but JN is very wooden - he's meant to be playing a repressed Brit but think he's taking it too far.

Great shoes Dry

Have you done the 30-day shred Lib? easy to do in your living room and has some tum.

I quite like podcasts Fairy - great for listening to when you're doing laundry or tidying or bfeeding Marsha! Serial was great but wasn't as keen on S-Town, and I love The Guilty Feminist, also The Mystery Show is sweet - quirky. I haven't listened to My Dad Wrote a Porno but people recommend it.

Richard Herring's one is very good too, lots of interviews with people where they just have a laugh.

Fashion news - I keep panic-buying winter coats and regretting instantly. Can't do belts ("you look like you're wearing a dressing-gown" Dh and both Dds) and just bought a purple one that I worry will make me feel like a mad old woman. I think I need to return it.

DryWhiteagainW · 09/01/2018 19:30

Liberty planks, crunches, reverse crunches, plank, plank,plank.......

justasecond · 09/01/2018 20:38

Hi all
so much to catch up on!
shop love the whole outfit, you will look stunning in it all
one sounds like a good present haul!
dream lovely jacket. I have an all saints jacket from years ago that I had neglected for years but have worn it again recently with my black pleated skirt.
everyone these trainers look nice www.net-a-porter.com/gb/en/product/917894/axel_arigato/clean-90-leather-sneakers I would be tempted if I didn't already have the maje fanny trainers Grin
Lib I agree with others who have suggested plank. I think it was dry that recommended it to me a couple of years ago. I can now hold it for 3mins.
I have returned the forest green coat that I got in the sales. It was lovely but a bit big.
I have been lusting after these shoes chloe lauren I love the colour, they look almost white. But too spendy atm. I have ordered these instead to see if they are any good whistles block heels

Glad you found some red shoes dry hope they are more comfy than the boden ones Smile

Shame about the faye fairylea its such a lovely bag but it doesn't look like you can put much in it because of the flat shape. wouldn't it look all bulgy with anything slightly bulky in it?

ootd was skinny black polo neck, warehouse stripe jumper, maje tuxedo trousers, IM bart leopard trainers with zara long burgundy coat over and black scarf

Fairylolly · 10/01/2018 02:39

Justa, yes the Faye size was a problem for me. And too delicate for what I needed. Lovely bag which deserves to be treasured by someone else.

I actually ordered those Chloe shoes in the Matches pre-sale but they were slightly too big and then the size I needed only came into stock the day after the pre-sale period ended) and Matches wouldn't extend the discount Sad (I really liked them so was game enough to ask!). I couldn't justify them full price.

Whistles ones are a good alternative. I bought these last year with a discount offer which I love so much (can you tell how much I love GRossi?) - need to get them out more.

Tempted by the Axel sneakers but luckily they are out of my size.

One of my S&B regrets from last year is dithering over some IM leopard print sneakers on the Outnet. Have kept thinking about them since so very jealous of you !

OOTD is this dress (I don't have the shoulders down as low as in the picture), a red and blue old Jaeger watercolour scarf, suede navy GR pumps (like these) and navy St Laurent tote which some of you might remember me getting over a year ago. It is so good for workdays as long as I don't overload it.

To top it off tiny gold studs (received from OH for Christmas) and my Cartier trinity ring! And red lipstick!

My aim for this year is to enjoy what I have more, rather than trying to buy the idea of who/ what I want to be.....

Fairylolly · 10/01/2018 02:42

Btw, you might have already guessed, I am in a similar timezone / season to Lib ....

libertyonhertravels · 10/01/2018 03:05

I was thinking you weren't getting your shoulders out in England fairy! Smile

shopafrolic · 10/01/2018 17:01

Fairy it sounds as though you have some fab things to enjoy. Love the OOTD. I don't suit block heels I don't think - those are lovely. :)
Having a tough few days with DPs so fashion has gone out of the window.
Did you all get the Me&em new brochure? Some lovely things in there.
