How was the ritz blair?

Nice top dream.

Ordered this black and gold dress from whistles as thought it would be good for Christmas. Never sure what size to get in whistles as sometimes it seems to come up big.

If the dress is a no good, I’ve seen this skirt that I might try instead. I’m also tempted by this rainbow dress just wondering whether I can get away with it!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/11/2017 16:48

It was lovely thanks everyone! A bit brief, as my sister had to go home (90 min train) to her baby, but we really enjoyed it and ate everything.

That whistles dress is gorgeous! And I knew it would be the warehouse rainbow dress - I am sitting on my hands to not buy it and telling myself that I don't need it Grin You should get it instead!

Everyonelovessparkles · 09/11/2017 16:57

You’ve got to eat everything! I always have sandwich seconds as well 😳 Glad you enjoyed it any way. Ha ha yes I don’t really need the rainbow stripe dress either but there’s just something about it! I just don’t know whether it might be too fitted and unforgiving of the mum tum though. Am in town on Tuesday so might try and get to a store to try on.....

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/11/2017 17:04

i LOVE that rainbow stripe dress. I desperately wish i had the right shape body to wear such a thing but i just don't, i'm far too bottom heavy i think plus ihave a ridiculous mum tum and flabby apron. aren't i a delightful picture haha Grin

I have been so so good this year, i have barely bought any new clothes and only one new pair of shoes which i am waiting on the delivery of. I have to be honest and say its been quite freeing not to be constantly consumed by what i might buy and making use of my rather extensive wardrobe. YEs, a few things have snuck their way in but its totalled less than one new item a month and given that i was just a shopping machine before, im rather proud of myself especially given the access i now have to shops living in london. Certainly the first half of next year will follow the same pattern as i have to save spending money for our holiday down Route 66! I think i might start a separate savings pot for the holiday to buy a handbag while im over there or something of that type

blair your photo at the Ritz was lovely, you look so fresh faced!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 09/11/2017 18:18

Ordered the rainbow dress 🌈 😳 saw it was getting low stock and knew I’d regret not trying it if it sold out. You lot are a bad influence 😂

Well done one on the limited spending. I haven’t bought too much this year but there were definitely a couple of unnecessary purchases in there. I’m hoping to do better next year too......

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/11/2017 20:31

Thank you One :) your holiday sounds fab, wow I'm jealous! When are you going?

Yay Everyone someone had to get it!

Stokey · 09/11/2017 21:07

Great link Shop surprisingly like the red Next boots.

I find the Pettys more functional than anything else Ofthread. I'd probably wear them less if I had other black boots suitable for work.

Yes meant to say you looked lovely at the Ritz Blair, great treat for your sis.

Gorgeous dresses Everyone - I could not do a sweater dress so Envy

Has anyone bought any wide trousers? We've all been about Gap skinnies on here but I find myself increasingly drawn to the wide legs with stripes down the side like Me + Em or think Hush have some. Thoughts?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/11/2017 21:14

We go next nay blair i'm very very excited! I have never been to any of the places we will be going to along the way from chicago to los angeles so its a really big deal for me! Hopefully it wont be too hot for me as it will only really be the start or summer

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/11/2017 21:14

may not nay ha!

shopafrolic · 09/11/2017 21:29

Stokey I love a wide leg trouser with trainers. I have a grey pair I got from GAP last year. No stripe though.

Gosh that rainbow dress is lovely but I would look hideous in it! One your trip sounds great and one I want to do in a few years time.

Am about to do an m&s shop!

justasecond · 09/11/2017 22:50

My stories jumper arrived and its absolutely huge. I could get my entire family and myself in there. I am sending it back in exchange for an xs as the colour is lovely.
hello ofthread love that name too Smile I have quite a few ankle boots but I mainly wear trousers these look good with skirts too though
Love the stripy dress everyone!
trip sounds amazing one
stokey I like the wide trouser with side stripe look too but not sure about it for winter with the potential for soggy hems. I have a black slim pair with a subtle black and white stripe from all saints that look good with ankle boots and trainers.cant't find them online but I quite like these too www.stories.com/gb/Ready-to-wear/Bottoms/Side_Panel_Trousers/582932-0541052001.2 what shoes would you wear with the wide legs?

Dreamqueen · 10/11/2017 09:24

I've found my Christmas day outfit. Smile Bought these sparkly trousers in M&S yesterday. They are much nicer in real life & thick stretchy material. I've got a black Cos top that I've never worn because I couldn't find the right bottoms to go with it. These will be perfect and black suede flat shoes.

Glad that you enjoyed tea out Blair

Everyone that black and gold dress is perfect for you. Hope it's a keeper. Also love the rainbow dress but don't have the figure for it.

One your holiday sounds fabulous.

The boot link was very informative Shop Loved the red boots but am telling myself that I don't need them.

shopafrolic · 10/11/2017 09:28

Morning all.
Do any of you lovely Voguettes suffer with dark circles under your eyes? I have found an amazing product at a bargainous price that really works. I spotted it on a blog (can't remember which one now) and thought I'd try it for the price. It's soooooo good. Really brightens the area. I put it on under my concealer and it stays put all day. Highly recommend. Barry M colour correcting wand

Which red boots did you like Dream? I'm lusting after the Dune ones.....

OP posts:
Dreamqueen · 10/11/2017 09:52

Shop the Dune ones are lovely but the heel looks a bit high for me. The block heel on the Kurt Geiger ones looks easier to walk in. I've got red boot lust.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/11/2017 11:04

I'm wearing my red boots today and I think anyone thinking about getting some should just take the plunge! They make me feel so cheery :)

Dream I love the sparkly trousers, they look perfect for christmas day!

Everyonelovessparkles · 10/11/2017 14:45

Those trousers look great dream.

Holiday sounds fab one, it’s great having something to look forward to.

To be honest I’m not expecting the rainbow dress to suit me, but I just had to buy it for it be confirmed Grin. Gap also have some coloured stripey things in (jumpers and jumper dresses) and there is always a discount code around if any one wants something rainbowy.

Good tip shop, you’re my source of all skincare / beauty tips!

Am wearing my cherry jumper again today. I really like it. Smile It’s been a long week voguettes, I’m so glad it’s friday! 🍷

shopafrolic · 10/11/2017 16:28

That's nice to hear Everyone :)

I was just thinking that we’re unlikely to manage a pre Xmas meet up but maybe we could think about one for the new year? Maybe February some time? What do you think?

MarshaBrady0 · 10/11/2017 17:42

Great idea Everyone

Dreamqueen · 10/11/2017 18:24

February MU sounds good Everyone.

I'm wearing my new trousers with some silver loafers that I'd put in the back of the wardrobe and forgotten about.

Have a great weekend MNV WineGin

Works for me Everyone
We’re off to dinner with friends in the village this eve. Love it when I can walk home within 3 mins!
I’m wearing (from the Jensen’s up), my new Jensen’s, Joseph leather leggings, Lib’s charcoal COS sweater dress and a silver choker that I was given by friends on my 21st Birthday. My Second Female coatigan is making it’s second appearance in 7 days. I had never worn it for evenings before - it’s very versatile.
What’s everyone up to this weekend?
