I think you can totally pull off grey hair shop but I hear you on the growing out phase and the fear of looking older. Give it a go! Worst thing that can happen is you decide to colour it again. I am going to grow mine longer this year.

I am pre menstrual and have eaten much food over last few weeks (and done so little exercise) that I feel enormous. Need a few weeks of restraint!!!

kittyhello · 07/01/2018 07:46

Shop I echo what Lib and Fedup said. Keep it as it for your event. Then afterwards give it a try. Perhaps start with some grey streaks put in unordered to start blending in the grey. If you decide it's not you then you can dye it back to your usual colour.

With your style I think you could carry it off.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/01/2018 13:02

Just arrived home about an hour ago. It's been lovely at MIL's but i am glad to be home now

DP and I just gave each other the last of the gifts we had for each other. He got me an awesome pair of Adventure Time Dr Marten boots, I'm so happy, ive been eyeing them up for ages and could never justify the cost of them to myself! He also got me a lindy bop skirt and dress, both in designs ive been pondering for a bit. HE is very pleased with what i got for him, mainly being vinyl records!!

shop i definitely think you could pull off grey with the right hair style but if you aren't absolutely sure, then don't do it or you will regret it

Longislandicetee · 07/01/2018 14:44

Hello everyone!Smile Just sat down for the first time today for a breather before getting up again to do post lunch clear up. One your holiday period sounds lovely, glad to hear you were spoiled by your DP.

Thank you for the leather skirt styling advice. Fitted skinny ribbed jumpers tend to look too booby on me.Hmm But i might give it another go. Since i will be wearing it for more casual days at work, i love the idea of a crisp white shirt with it. I will try that one day this week and let you know.

Dry, i am trying to work out how you wear skinny jeans with boots without tucking them in?? Unless you're also wearing ankle boots, then how do you wear them? If you remember i bought the grey lowlands about 18 months ago, and i have totally lived in them this winter, not having had the chance to do so, last year. Look fantastic with pretty much everything, except a camel coat.

Fairy, I love the Chloé Faye. I don't actually have it, but have thought of getting it before. The one that i actually got, the lsat time i was considering a Chloé bag was the Chloé Alexa. These were a timely reminder that I haven't used it for ages, so I will have aa rummage around and look for it.

Shop, my S&B bill....ha! I asked dh if he wanted to know and he said "God no". Grin

I love my OOTD. Beige White company cashmere sweater over Me&EM layering top with blue Gapkid jeggings. When i went out earlier, they were tucked into dark brown Aquatalia knee high boots and wore Johnstons grey and glue cashmere scarf with my Burberry quilted coat and a big pink bobble hat from Warehouse.Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/01/2018 15:54

Your OOTD sounds great blingy. You do smart casual so well. Envy Smile

Some ideas shop regarding the grey if you did decide to go for it, but as someone rose said, wait until after the party. Has your dress arrived yet?

Glad you had a nice Xmas one and you are pleased with your presents.

I just ordered these cheapo trainers from next. They’re certainly not cutting edge or to everyone’s taste but I like them. Not sure what lib’s DD would say about me wearing them though. Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/01/2018 15:55

Meant to say fairy, hope you like the faye when it arrives and it does what you want, it looks beautiful in the pictures.

shopafrolic · 07/01/2018 17:03

Rushes in - dumps bags.
Ladies you will be proud of me.
I have found the shoes and now have the full party outfit sorted. The MK dress fits perfectly in a medium. You've obviously all seen the JC clutch. May I present the shoe boot of dreams
We went to Brent Cross and I spotted it in LK Bennet but they only had a size 37, website sold out so they checked stock and only two pairs were left in my size on the Kings Rd. Cue me sweet-talking DH so that we drove straight there, tried them and bought them. They're the perfect cut, good heel height, and will work with lots of other outfits so I'm beyond thrilled.
I tried these ones from John Lewis which were a bargain but gaped at the front on me. Good though just not good enough after having seen the LKB ones. Hence the epic drive across the city. Still miniShop loved the sightseeing and all the supercars parked around Cadogan Gardens. Everyone's a winner (perhaps apart from DH).

Absolutely perfect Shop. Glad you went for shoe boots, it's such a sexy option with that dress and the clutch. And those shoes are particularly glorious! Tell MrShop i said "Well played!" He will love the results of his endeavours.Grin

Thank you Everyone! You have made my day. I have worked hard to find a casual style that actually suited me which is why i get excited and post about them.Blush

Longislandicetee · 07/01/2018 17:28

OMG Dry, you should so get those. They look perfect for you!

DryWhiteagainW · 07/01/2018 17:29

Oh lovely Shop ....may go and have a try, look a bit low.

I've said it already but your party outfit is perfect

shopafrolic · 07/01/2018 17:58

Blingy agree with Everyone you nail casual chic
Dry they are a bit lower than your norm I guess but v stylish.
I really rate LKB heels. Everything I have ever bought from them I love - and most of the styles I go for don't seem to date too much.
One your gifts sound great - you two know each other's tastes very well :)

AmberNectarine · 07/01/2018 18:13

I would never add up my S&B spend. Never.

Over the sales now - have snapped up some great bits though: the Harris Wharf coat, Burberry scarf, a Bella Freud jumper and some cashmere loungewear.

Now going to be sensible as plan to get a Gucci clutch next month. Luckily I'll be due some cash - we are able to purchase extra holiday at work but I never end up using it, so two weeks wages coming my way in Feb when it is paid back, which should fund a little spree!

DryWhiteagainW · 07/01/2018 22:31

Anyone watching McMafia? James N and his girlfriend are fabulously styled. She was wearing a beautiful teal dress and black suede heels tonight.....I was lusting.

shopafrolic · 07/01/2018 22:54

We recorded tonight’s Dry as we have been sucked into the void that is Hard Sun. Amazing if you loved Luther. Not much style but a lot of terror and knives.

Perfect shoe boots shop! Well done mrshops he has earned a few brownie points!!!

One sounds like you had a great Christmas with perfect presents Smile

I've just been for power walk up a very steep hill. Am rewarding myself with a flat white (no 🍰 ) in the sun. Have I mentioned I love Auckland? Grin

Longislandicetee · 08/01/2018 08:55

Envy Lib it's freezing cold here! The only good thing is I get to wear my MaxMara cashmere coat a lot!

Shop you can probably guess I am into fluffy tv programmes and films. I am slowly working my way through season 2 of The Crown.

Dh did his first hair conditioning mask yesterday.Grin I had just painted my nails when I remembered I needed to wash dd's hair and put a conditioning mask on it before we sat down to watch dancing on ice (utter rubbish btw!). So dh stepped up and under instruction washed her hair, put a conditioner mask on and wrapped it into her plastic cap. While looking utterly bemused Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/01/2018 10:14

blingy, at first I thought you meant your DH did a hair conditioning mask on himself 😂😂. It is freezing today. I think your smart casual outfits are so great because it’s the details that really elevate them - eg the nice boots or scarf. It’s those little details that take them to the next level whilst remaining casual.

Well done shop on persuading your DH to get the shoes! Not sure my DH would be so accommodating! They are lovely though. You’ll have to message me a photo of the whole outfit. Those shoes you linked for dry are gorgeous too. I love my LKB boots but I pair of ballet flats I had had to go to the Charity shop as they cut my feet to ribbons every time I wore them.

Which clutch have you got your eye on amber? You did quite well in the sales.

lib your day sounds fab. Smile Good luck with the job hunting.

MarshaBradyo · 08/01/2018 12:14

Me too Everyone Grin had the initial image of MrBlingy with a towel round his shoulders

Shop perfect shoes, just ace, so nice to have a big thing to look forward to. Love dressing up

And those red shoes are perfect for Dry

Have to say everyone is on their style game these days, all these things are really perfect!

MarshaBradyo · 08/01/2018 12:15

I couldn't get on with McMafia, I couldn't keep track Blush. Probably partially distracted as usual. Watching Outsiders atm which is impressive

MarshaBradyo · 08/01/2018 12:37

Golden Globe dresses. Not as much to comment on as all in black. I do notice their make up more, Emma Stone looks so pretty, love her paleness and Naomi Campbell looks amazing.

One lovely gifts

Kitty great gold birkies

Fairy so glad you bought it

MarshaBradyo · 08/01/2018 12:57

Who could wear this? I find it really pretty but maybe not for me Marant Fedup?

Shiny gold Choos who can do gold, dramatic? Or are they baad, I can't tell

Ok up to page 6 of about 45 think that's enough

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/01/2018 14:56

There were some nice dresses at the GG even though they were black. I thought a few people didn’t look great though, not really their dress but their whole ‘look’ (E.g. Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon, Miranda Kerr, Kate Hudson to name a few). I also thought that the ‘work’ / fillers on Michelle pffiefer and Debra messing made them look weird. MP was so beautiful as well.

FedupNagging · 08/01/2018 17:10

Very pretty top Marsha and I love the exposed buttons on the back.

Yay, outfit all sorted Shop - will look fabulous dahling

I also thought MrBlingy was having a hair mask - I thought how very 21st century male!

Not a huge amount standing out at the GG's (thanks for link) but i did like Anjelina Joli's dress and Claire Foy in a black trouser suit with her pixie crop and red lipstick. However, the most stand out look for me was Tracee Ellis Ross (just googled - daughter of Diana Ross) - black dress, head wrap and fabulous make up.

I've completely missed McMafia and the ice dancing but doesn't sound like I've missed much. Currently watching Scandal then thought I might start either Luther or Fargo and will look at outsiders too.
