Merry Christmas my wonderful friends. Years down the line and we're still going strong (is it five years?).

Wishing you all a year of health and happiness. Marsha, I'm counting down! Bernice, impressed you're remaining stylish - I was welded to leggings at this stage! Shop wishing your family health and good fortune - you are a fantastic daughter Blingy I know you'll be back in heels and ruling the business world in 2018! Lib so happy you love your new home - I haven't moved quite as far (a whole 800m), but it's such a wonderful feeling. Queen I remain absolutely awed by your strength and dignity, here's to a better year. One hoping your wrist is healing nicely and you're finding your feet in your new stomping ground. Linus love your festive photo! Dry hope there is no VW disaster under the tree for you! Sleep hope to see more of you next year and many happy returns to DS's birthday twin!

To all my other wonderful, stylish friends, Mara, Blair, Everyone, Justa, FedUp, Stokey, Dream and everyone I've forgotten (sorry), wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous year ahead!

Here's to many 2018 MUs and even more joyful purchases! Xx

AmberNectarine · 25/12/2017 00:22

Also, I apologise for being a fair weather friend. I'm hoping for a much calmer 2018 and intend to contribute a lot more!

Dreamqueen · 25/12/2017 09:42

Happy Christmas MNV.

libertyonhertravels · 25/12/2017 10:04

A very merry Christmas to you all - on my way to bed in a pleasantly overfed and slightly tipsy stupor - may you all feel this content in 12 hours time Smile

I'll post in more detail when I am actually able to focus...hopefully sometime tomorrow.

libertyonhertravels · 25/12/2017 10:09

Oh and my christmas present from DD was a little diary and a pair of gold hoop earrings with orange tassels - they are fab!

Everyonelovessparkles · 25/12/2017 12:05

Merry Christmas everyone! Your DD did well lib, my present from DD from the wrapping room at the school Xmas fair was a lynx gift set 😂

FedupNagging · 25/12/2017 18:58

Happy Christmas lovely Voguettes, hope you're all enjoying your days.

After a fabulous full on day, am just about to slump in front of the TV with the last of the champagne.

Lovely round ups from Amber & Shop; can't wait to catch up with everyone in the new year. Xx

MarshaBradyo · 25/12/2017 19:31

Happy Christmas gorgeous Voguettes! [fizz]

Amber and Shop I loved your round ups, thank you so much

I have been very lucky with presents, will update later, hope to be updating this week for all the big stuff.

Just to say I love being on here with you all, means loads to me, big love all round

MarshaBradyo · 25/12/2017 19:40

Not just being on here of course! The real friendships, you all rock. Uber stylishly

shopafrolic · 25/12/2017 20:34

Everyone Grin at Lynx set. I got a mini scented candle so clearly miniShop chose well.
We’ve had a fab day day. My boys have spoilt me. A few bits I had chosen myself, but also some lovely bits they got for me - some Clarins goodies and a voucher for my friend’s beauty salon. It’s been tough with the older generation. My uncle almost choked and my DF nearly fell through our front window - it would be funny if it wasn’t so sad to watch. But it’s been fun seeing miniShop with his cousins - he’s had some lovely gifts and told me today was his best day ever so it’s all good. The cooking went well. Turkey was yummy and everyone enjoyed.
A quiet day tomorrow and then on to Norfolk for a few days.
I hope you’re all tired and happy.

DryWhiteagainW · 25/12/2017 20:50

Have had a fab day. All the prep was worth it, I felt v relaxed. I cooked the turkey upside down so it wasn't dry at all.
I got a very generous voucher for my fav beauty salon from DH so will be booking lots of treatments in 2018, v happy indeed.

Really look forward to MUs in 2018 xxxx

Amber I think MNV started in 2012

libertyonhertravels · 26/12/2017 08:58

I have just eaten a lot of panettone (with chocolate chips) bread and butter pudding. So good but scary calories.

Everyone lynx set is hilarious!!! DH was on hand to provide DD with some guidance. Apparently her first choice earrings were rather garish Grin

Had another lovely day here. Spent a few hours as DD's assistant for Lego building. Then we checked out our local pub. Am pleased to report it's very acceptable Wink

libertyonhertravels · 26/12/2017 09:05

Am chuckling at how ridiculous it looks to anyone who doesn't know me or where I am that I'm eating pudding at 8.58am Grin

Longislandicetee · 26/12/2017 10:03

Morning Voguettes! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day! (And in Lib's case Boxing Day too!). Ours was awesome, love my family so much. We were 16 during the day and then 4 more joined us later. And omg the laughter,...we literally cried with laughter at times during our traditional family games in the evening. I hope yours were all as good.Xmas Smile

Presents wise, my kids were awesome. They chose and wrapped all by themselves and got their nanny to help them buy. Ds got me jewellery stackers and a make up organiser, and dd got me 5 candles.

From my siblings, I got Hermes box set perfume and body cream set, lovely gold sparkly cardigan, a cream cable sweater, a rails shirt and a handbag. All lovingly chosen and all very me. Dh got me 2 cd compilations (our tradition and the thing I most look forward to as one is always Now!Grin), all the seasons of Suits on dvd, and bling.

Today we do it alllll again but with dh's family.Xmas Shock

Topazwithpearls · 26/12/2017 11:00

Glad to hear that so many of you had a lovely day yesterday. I hope it was great for all of you. I had a really nice, relaxed day, despite my rather rash suggestion of us (DH and both adult DC) all going to the cinema on Christmas Eve. As this had been a last-minute idea, it put me well-behind in the food prep. Still, it was lovely to go into town, see the Star Wars film and then drink mulled cider in one of those fake Ski-huts. When we got back, everyone mucked in to get everything done. It could become a new tradition.

Yesterday was chilled and followed our usual routine: Church, present opening (with Buck’s Fizz), cooking, board games, snoozing, eating (and drinking), more board games and bed (interspersed with phone calls to and from wider family). It was lovely. Today will be relaxed as well and then the various visits and social events start.

My S&B presents were great - some White Company loungewear (perfect for today) and Hudson Chelsea boots. I am very happy with the joggers (no longer on the website, but charcoal grey with zips at ankles and for pockets) and hoodie as they look smart enough to wear out, as well as being comfortable for “lounging” in Grin. The boots took some tracking down. I wanted a flat alternative to my Acne Pistols. (I have taken up yoga again this year, and have also been to a few Pilates classes and am much more aware of my posture. I am finding heels less right for me now).

I also got a surprise beetle necklace, from DH.

Fedup, you asked what I have been buying this year - the answer is really not much! I have found that I have had a pretty good wardrobe and have not really been in need or wanting much. I did splurge on the Wyse Ziggy Star jumper in grey which I have worn loads, and also joined Beautypie, and so have been trying out some of their products (good so far). I also am in love with the [[https://www.johnlewis.com/babyliss-2769u-sheer-volume-ionic-rotating-heated-brush-black/p3307110?sku=237078554&s_kwcid=2dx92700027884713605&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxoS-gsGn2AIV4bztCh39VgC7EAQYBSABEgLt9fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Babyliss ionic rotating hair styler]]. I have been asked quite a few times if I have been to the hairdresser!

Recently, I have been enjoying the Parisienne thread, and through that, have been enjoying reading from touniversewithlove.com/ .

Catching up, it has been great to hear how well you are settling Lib. You sound so relaxed and happy - you sounded so stressed before. Like Amber I am hoping to be more regular on here. I had almost forgotten what a good group of friends you all are.

Ok, mammoth post over - have a great Boxing Day everyone.

shopafrolic · 26/12/2017 16:53

I love Hudson boots Topaz fab
I’ve just been browsing the sales with £100 to spend on either a silk shirt or a merino / cashmere sweater in jewel winter colours. I can’t see a thing. The purple Acne sweater that QueenC linked for me a while back is only now in a Small Confused

OP posts:
Topazwithpearls · 27/12/2017 09:30

Shop, I don’t know if the colours are right or if ordering from the Netherlands (and having to pay postage on returns) is too off-putting, but this website was recommended on the Parisienne thread Teym.us for merino jumpers.

MarshaBradyo · 27/12/2017 10:54

Love those gifts Topaz

Longislandicetee · 27/12/2017 13:04

Afternoon Voguettes! Am at the in laws having survived a surprisingly drama free Boxing Day. S&B goodies i got here were some Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume box set with body cream and from the pils a blingy bracelet with matching earrings plus a cashmere sweater. Shop you might remember that the last time mil got me a cashmere sweater, i called you from the changing room of my local white company to ask you whether i was deluded given she insists on getting me clothes 2 sizes too big.Grin Yesterday i looked at the lovely Breton cashmere sweater and said "it's gorgeous but it's a bit too big for me". Mil: "Oh i always find that it's best to get cashmere a size bigger than normal". Me in my head "I am size 6. Siiiiiix. I have been telling you this for 15 years." Me out loud: "Oh okay" Grin

Those were lovely links Topaz. Nice to see you back.

MarshaBradyo · 27/12/2017 13:44

lol Blingy the gifts sound lovely, but that is pretty entrenched behaviour!

Lib I reckon panettone sounds perfect for breakfast Wink

Dry sounds like a lovely time

Everyone love the Lynx set

Shop did you get the jumper? Sounds really nice

Taking it very easy today, thought I'd share this beauty. Need to take care of it very much! Some other lovely stuff too, a watch from Liberty, acne hat, wallet and Aesop shampoo. I was ahem spoilt. But not sure what to do about the watch, as it's very beautiful but I prefer a slightly bigger face.

Is everyone still visiting, Christmassing, trees and eating? Or back home to normal-ish

DryWhiteagainW · 27/12/2017 14:08

Marsha what a gorgeous bag, it’s very you. Really lovely.

Most of my first wave of guests have left. I’ve whizzed round unmaking beds, putting in washer, hoovering and getting house straight, ready for next wave on Saturday. Suddenly I feel very tired....(might be the glass of wine at lunch).......watching Little Women with a cuppa and Hotel du Chocolat, feet up. Not planning to move now.

I have massively over catered so I’m not cooking again for 3days.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 27/12/2017 14:29

hello all, i hope you've all had a fabulous christmas. i was utterly spoilt, perfume, tatty devine jewellery, sewing books, a crochet your own star wars figures kit and so much more AND i have more presents to unwrap from DP when we get home in a week and a half!! he also has more gifts from me to unwrap, we couldn't bring them all with us so decided to leave them behind and open them when we get home Smile

love to you all

FedupNagging · 27/12/2017 15:00

Just waiting for our next visitors to arrive - I have enough food to last if we get snowed in - 14 for lunch tomorrow!

Maybe your dmil thinks you might shrink your cashmere Blingy hence sizing up which is exactly what I do

Gorgeous bag Marsha; no advice re the watch, it depends on who gave it to you and how offended they'll be I guess. But, it would be a shame to languish in a box instead of being worn.

Topaz, love the Wyse jumper and obviously a good buy if you've worn it loads. Fab boots and necklace too.

The dc's totally spoilt both dh & I this year - we were very touched as we don't encourage them to spend much on us given their own financial status. Pandora jewellery and Jo Malone perfume featured very heavily for me.

I've just ordered a pair of boots from JL in the sale - will link later. Also have some trousers and jumpers in my basket on Asos which I'm dithering over. Will have a proper look at the sales when our visitors have gone at the weekend.
