I love it too 😁
It's my go to scent for winter
it is I badders!!
I'm in a scent funk atm
So much illness in the family - ds2 up again last night with temp of 39...sigh
I'm fed up
I've spent up this month already Blush so no treats for me Sad
Have to say I've been less than impressed by the Tuesday scents...i like the dark heart of old Havana. That's about it. Although I would like to try shazam...am I right in thinking it's notes are similar to youth dew?
Supposed to be going to 2 parties today....ugh

mrsreynolds · 04/11/2017 09:15

Yes POAL is def dusty pot pourri!

MrsPestilence · 04/11/2017 09:30

DH reckons that MrsM C smells like acid drops pressed into a bletted medlar.

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 09:47

Yes, I would say Shazam! is a fizzier, brighter YD. Hmm, might have to do a side-by-side with those two today...

Poor ds 2, hope he's feeling better today.

MrsPestilence · 04/11/2017 09:57

Violet and patchouli? Some sort of wood, not quite an oud. And hints of an 80's disco.
Had a nose bleed yesterday, so this might all be nonsense.

The love child of Paris and Dark Heart by Sophia Grojsman?

MrsMacNally · 04/11/2017 10:03

Pest - how do you blett a medlar? Please tell DH there are no acid drops or medlars in any condition listed. (Although as I am on a lifetime mission to smell like a (cooked) quince, to discover this smells like a medlar is a bonus). Grin

No shark, blood, guts, sperm, or I'm afraid, white lactonic flowers. Just four notes. It's obscure so Fragrantica won't help. But it is listed in Basenotes.

MrsMacNally · 04/11/2017 10:08

Yes to violet! (And although not listed I think you're right on the woods).

MrsMacNally · 04/11/2017 10:20

Shazam! Is not very YD like on me. Its a massive uplifting fizzy orange, sat on top of a great big hippyish amber. Quite a lot of old skool patchouli too. Exhilarating and comforting all at once - it's a tremendous mood enhancer.

But it blasts your socks off (in a good way). This is a good bedtime scent if you are sad and need a boost. Interested in the mood enhancing quality of a lot of the 4160s - think this may be part of what makes them special?

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 10:27

Right am showered and in YD on the left and Shazam! on the right. The do share the oriental/balsamic vibe but aside from that not very similar at all. No aldehydes in Shazam! and a strong chocolatey note.

Maybe Youth Dew as made by Willy Wonka Grin

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 10:28

Yes there's a definite chocolate orange in Shazam!

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:32

I’m in Pest C now. Violets, lavender ? I’ll have to wait and see what else comes out but I’m predicting this is going to get soapy or powdery

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:34

There’s quite a lot of sweetness coming through now in MrsMac C (apologies wrong reference on my post above) but can’t quite place it

MrsPestilence · 04/11/2017 10:39

Carnation rather than rose?
On skin it is definite woody floral, on paper has a more lemon, spice, pepper element.
Some sort of incense / resin.

Got to unearth some potatoes and fit in wine tasting, it's a tough life Grin

MrsMacNally · 04/11/2017 10:42

Three out of four named notes are floral. Yes to violet, two more to find.

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:44

Yes carnations! I’m thinking that too. It’s getting quite earthy

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:45

Iris? I’m thinking that because it’s getting quite powdery

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:47

Actually I do think it has rose or has that been excluded already?

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:47

So violet, Rose, Iris and Vetiver is mygiess

BluebellGal · 04/11/2017 10:47

*my guess

MrsPestilence · 04/11/2017 11:12

Vetiver sounds good Blue would explain the wood undertone. I replace your iris with carnation.

Count I hope that is two wrists and two ankles sprayed, this multi perfume testing keeps you supple.

Grin I do a lot of yoga but still would struggle to regularly check my ankles for a perfume developing. Four hours in Doe in the Snow is resurgent (and lovely) and I'm not smelling much Ealing Green anymore. Pancakes and Sunshine and The Sexiest Scent smell quite similar now. Considering a wildcard 30 ml for SIL that I've not smelt myself, Tart's Knicker Drawer or Shazam possibly.

mrsreynolds · 04/11/2017 12:21

Oh thank you for testing!

I won't wear youth dew as my mum wears it but I think I need to get some shazam!!

Fizzy Choc orange!?? Yes please!!

Grin

Ds2 has gone to his friends party - temp fine this morning - I'm just a bit concerned as he has had a nasty chest Inge tion and only just finished antibiotics

Sotd is avon nightmusk - I need comfort today

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 12:33

I reckon a sample of Shazam! is worth a couple of quid of anyone's money. It's not on my 'adore' list but it's definitely worth a sniff.

I think I'm going to wear Amour Nocturne for fireworks tonight and see if I can detect that elusive gunpowder note.

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 12:35

My ds has headed off to a football match in not-enough layers and a cloud of Lynx, despite my best efforts on both the warm clothes and the high-quality cologne fronts Grin
