Yep to idolic, this one really varies with skin chemistry.
Jasmine is one of the big notes. Yes to musk, patchouli and green notes.
No to red berries, tuberose, myrrh , rose and pepper.
So you have four out of the ten listed notes.

Is there fruit in the opening Pest - it's juicy to start with?

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 13:31

Gardenia?

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 13:38

Almond and tonka?

MrsPestilence · 03/11/2017 13:47

Gardenia, almond and tonka. All present and correct.
Two noses put this one together (both quite prolific).

Licorice, amber and precious woods too? I used to wear this!!!!

MrsPestilence · 03/11/2017 14:03

Grin Wink Grin

I was given this bottle the week it was launched. The purchaser smelt like she had filled her pockets with very soiled nappies in perfumed bags. Was a little worried about Blue in a meeting smelling not quite right. Shock
I love it, but it does not always smell the same.

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 14:06

At least the green notes are described as 'juicy'. Grin

When I wore this the jasmine smacked me in the face. Less so today - gardenia seems to have the upper hand.

MrsPestilence · 03/11/2017 14:13

The thing I shall really take away from this blind sniff experiment, is identifying separate notes. I am going to have to go through my entire perfume cupboard again, sniffing with more purpose.
No more Mmmm, Meh, Nah.

That Fragrantica 'search by notes' thingy is fab, how clever! I know which perfume you're talking about now Grin

Right, Timbuktu is coming off. Really disappointing. Thin, dull, aftershavey nothingness. It must've been reformulated since LT wrote his glowing 5-star review, surely?

Traversee has fared a little better in terms of still being a 'nice smell', but it's faded to a skin scent that I have bury my nose in my wrist to get at. Meh.

I'm away to re-douse in something new.

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 16:49

It's a good discipline isn't it? Makes me realise I'm better with my usual palette of things I like, and struggle with things out of my usual 'zone'.

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 16:53

Am I hallucinating or is Tart's Knicker Drawer the new scent of the week? What a weekend Smile!

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/11/2017 17:02

Dental check in number two - I made it. One hairy moment where one of the nerves hadn’t numbed because it was so inflamed (OUCH) and she thought she might need to abort, dress it, and come back to it another day, but she injected right into it and that took. Back on 5 December...

mrsm oh no - which tooth is it, do you really need the implant? I had a consultation for one after a similar situation with a post-crown and the implant man told me to give it six months and see if anyone noticed the tooth missing. No-one ever did and I still have a gap. Mine was a lower pre-molar - my teeth are massive (I had loads out as a kid to make Space and stop them all crowding up) which I think helps. I am so grateful the guy didn’t tell me to push on and spend £1800.

SOTD was 19, for courage. Am just about to have a shower and put my pjs on now, so perhaps Cardinal for the evening.

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 18:13

Glad you got through it today Judy . You've earnt a glass of something nice tonight Wine.

It's a premolar, but it's next door neighbour's already gone following a failed root canal. Am having a think about what to do...

CountFosco · 03/11/2017 18:34

Am I hallucinating or is Tart's Knicker Drawer the new scent of the week?

No hallucinating.

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/11/2017 19:03

mrsm I have that exact same gap on the lower right, for the same reason. The tooth I had a RCT on today is the one behind the gap, then I have the wisdom tooth. I don’t want to post a photo here, but I swear, unless I am throwing my head back laughing really widely you don’t notice it at all. I was talking to my colleague about it today and actually showed him, and he was genuinely open-mouthed. If you want to see pics message me and I will direct you to my Instagram so you can examine my gap-less smile.

BorisTrumpsHair · 03/11/2017 19:55

Got my 4160 rhubarb and custard collection today - looking forward to wearing them this weekend.

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 20:13

What are they like Boris?

Thanks Judy - that's good to hear. It's freaking me out a bit but there's no rush to make a decision on the implant, so I've got a chance to see what living with it is like.

BluebellGal · 03/11/2017 23:08

Sorry to hear about all the tooth woes Flowers

I’m late reporting back as I’ve not access to WiFi all day. Pest C was a mixture of “oh this is gorgeous, beautiful” to “oh my god have I got some poo left underneath a nail from changing my daughters nappy” to “wow gorgeous creamy vanilla “ to “oh my god, my colleague has really bad breath...oh no wait that’s MY perfume”. It was a rollercoaster Pest I’ve never worn a perfume that’s changed so much throughout the day. And it just kept going and going. It’s a bit like Willy Wonka's everlasting gobstopper. Thanks for the experience Pest but I’m not sure if I can get over the indolic effect with my skin chemistry.

Now the question- what is it?

BluebellGal · 03/11/2017 23:12

Boris I got my rhubarb and custard collection too. Just a quick sniff so far but they smell like they say on the tin. The vanilla crumble smells dreamy

BluebellGal · 03/11/2017 23:25

So Pest C is clearly Bvlgari Jasmine Noir (using the amazing Fragrantica search option).

I love the house of Bvlgari - I have liked so many perfumes over the years (the vert, Goldea and Rose Goldea) I’m not surprised now I thought it was beautiful as it has a real sparkling element that I get with a lot of their perfumes.

I can’t believe how good we are at this blind guessing. I swear before doing this I really didn’t think I had a good nose, but it’s amaxing what you can pick out in terms of individual notes when you concentrate and have no preconceptions. Highly recommended to anyone thinking of having a go.

One more to go - MrsMac C!

MrsMacNally · 03/11/2017 23:31

Well done Bluebell Smile

CountFosco · 04/11/2017 08:07

I have now sprayed myself with 4 different 4160T perfumes trying to decide what to get DSis. The Sexiest Scent is winning at the moment (partly because of the name) followed by Ealing Green. Poor old Doe in the Snow is far too subtle in comparison. DH is bemused.

MrsPestilence · 04/11/2017 08:39

Ok, today is the day of MrsMC and the perfume she waived on. A fleeting thought of "Am I about to make myself smell of spunk, blood and decomposing flesh?"
Opening with white lactic flowers. Undertones of something else I can't identify.

Well done Blue I was a bit concerned about sending you to work in Jasmine.

Everyone is keen to hear your thoughts on the rhubarb and custard Boris, do let us know what you think.

Sock always glad to hear the adventures of your pencil case Grin. Who Knew is a smoky rose (with lots of other bits), very grown up, I love it.

Count I hope that is two wrists and two ankles sprayed, this multi perfume testing keeps you supple.

MrsR EL Knowing is well loved here.

explodingkittens · 04/11/2017 09:07

Yes, I meant to say yesterday, mrsreynolds, Knowing isn't boring at all, it's amazing!

Am eagerly awaiting my order from 4160. Hoping it comes when everyone else is out of the house though, as I can already see dp's eyes rolling out of his head Grin. I figure if he fills the place with random bits of Chinese electronica then I can certainly fill the house with delicious scents...

Yesterday I ended up with POAL on the left wrist and La Fille De Berlin on the right, to compare and contrast. It's definitely the Lutens for me. I do like POAL but there is definitely an undertone of dusty pot pourri, while the Lutens has more clarity and spice. I could just be being swayed by the glorious colour though.

Fireworks party tonight (if it stops drizzling) so I need something seriously smoky. Happy Saturday everyone!
