SOTD is Heeley Hippie Rose. I was able to taste my dinner for the first time in a week, so hopefully I will start being able to smell again soon.

floofy wishing you a speedy recovery.

OCSockOrphanage · 01/12/2017 20:12

The Friedemodin has vanished... boo hoo! I was really sorry not to see it in my local store last year and thought the company was wound up and no longer producing.

OCSockOrphanage · 01/12/2017 20:16

Received a sample of Guerlain's Black Perfecto with an order for soap... don't! PP Iris Cedre again today; this is going to be a triumph she predicts.

explodingkittens · 01/12/2017 20:24

Got home to a fabulous little box from MrsS - thank you so much! Am now in Black Velvet Cafe - wood, leather, cigars and coffee. The opening notes are oddly reminiscent of an old boyfriend leather jacket, fags and coffee Blush. On my other wrist is Damn Rebel Bitches which, with its clear orange note, would actually probably layer really well with BVC. Am thrilled to bits, and the evening is made even better with wine and an evening of 80s music videos on Vintage (DP is out) Grin

CountFosco · 01/12/2017 20:33

SotD was Advent Calendar Atelier Cologne (henceforth known as ACAC) Cafe Tuberosa.

Just thinking if I'm doing Atelier Cologne Discovery (ACD) and you're doing ACAC we're going to be doing the same perfumes at different times. Will be interesting to compare our reactions.

After I came home from work I resprayed and the Orange Sanguine has lasted longer on my wrists this time. Maybe I just washed it off at work. It's quite linear, I resprayed hours ago but it still smells the same. I have also spent a lot of time on Fragrantica reading up about the AC scents.

BluebellGal · 01/12/2017 20:46

SOTD 4160 creamy vanilla crumble

Enjoying everyone’s posts from afar today (very busy) trying to chill out now with White Company Winter and a glass of bubbly

BluebellGal · 01/12/2017 20:54

Floofy wishing you a successful post op recovery

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/12/2017 21:20

Feu Follet is leathery and spicy, a bit of amber and lavender thrown in for good measure. It's quite a soft leather (chamois?!), and definitely a winter perfume, although it could work on a summer evening.

(We're also watching 80s pop!)

TK Maxx on Charing Cross Road often has the more upmarket perfumes, if you want me to look for anything, I'm based quite nearby.

MrsMacNally · 01/12/2017 23:15

Thanks MrsS - sounds right up my street. Should've grabbed in wehn I had the chance (twice)!

Hope you're all wrapped up Pest? That sounds potentially chilly Shock

JanetStWalker · 02/12/2017 00:12

Green, a little birdie at Dior told me that they will be offering the Privee line in 50ml bottles from March 2018 onwards. You might just be able to justify a bottle of Feve after all. Xmas Wink

CountFosco · 02/12/2017 09:37

ACD SotD is Cédrat Enivrant. Cedrat, mint and juniper. Top notes citrus and gin

CountFosco · 02/12/2017 09:38

What a way to start Saturday morning, smelling like gin!

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/12/2017 11:04

Mrs M - I also got the "taster set" of Friedemodin from TK Maxx, which had Rosee de Nuit, Vertine, FF and Jardins Exotiques (?). I didn't much like Vertine, but the others were good. Think I will wear Feu Follet tonight - am out with the Crepey Squad.

MrsMacNally · 02/12/2017 12:38

Was that recently MrsS? Think I saw them last here during the Spring?

Day 2 of the 4160Tuesdays sample calendar and.......it's The Sexiest Scent at parfum strength. This is a bit of a revelation at this concentration; much more to engage with. So far a very pleasant lemony wood. (Will be interested to sniff side by side with Lemon Sherbet, which I remember having some of the same qualities but being sweeter and more vanillary?)

FloofyCatIsComingToTown · 02/12/2017 13:52

I absolutely love the Atelier Colognes I have tried (especially the bergamot one) but the longevity is about ten minutes on me, I don't even get a skin scent for some reason. It saddens me! Looking forward to reviews of them all, and the other ACs. I had a hair treatment sachet today in mine which is sweet as I'm always moaning about my remaining wispy hair. The Mohican is currently covered with a hat - I love winter!

MrsMac Babylon Sunset is one of my faves (courtesy of green Smile) and I chose it in Summer for the one long day out I managed with the DC so your description is spot on for me :) I've actually not worn it since so I can sniff it and be reminded (please tell me other people do this too!)

Kittens your post of 20.24 made me feel a little weak at the knees BlushGrin

Thank you for all good wishes btw, the bed bathing has gone well, DH looked very slightly panicked when I asked him to choose a perfume and he went for Kenzo Amour, a sensible choice Star This morning he misunderstood the brief and handed me a body spray but I will let him off Grin

Hope everyone is enjoying their AC hauls and feeling better from any lurgies!

explodingkittens · 02/12/2017 13:57

Had a luxuriously early night last night, and went to bed in 4160's Bodhi Language, courtesy of MrsS. Starts off with a definite rum note, drying down into a linear-but-lovely sandalwood. Very nice indeed, soothing and gentle.

SOTD is Embers, by Rouge Bunny Rouge - one of my treasures from Bloom. Spent the morning watching ds's football team get thrashed 9-0 but at least I did so in a warming fug of smoke and incense!

Now back home, god it's cold. This house just never gets warm. Am in thermal top, wool sweater, wool scarf, two pairs of thick socks. Might have to go and sit on a radiator for a bit!

Loving the sound of the advent calendars. Will have to invest next year.

explodingkittens · 02/12/2017 14:02

Grin floofy

PerfumeIsAMessage · 02/12/2017 16:22

Kittens- I have the 3 PP dupes you mention.
I don't reckon much to the Miss Dior, it's one of the few PP "misses" for me. The Infusions d'Iris is beautiful and I no longer even smell the real thing when I come across it. The PP is soapier and smoother. I.have the biggest bottle and love it. The tobacco vanilla to me is much more vanilla than I want, or expected. It's a bit yankee candle on me.

Floof- you're an angel but don't worry, I do massive stock ups when I can!

Now lovelies, a KLAXON for a friend of mine- her signature is Paloma Picasso but she wants a change from Santa. She wants patchouli, sandalwood but not sweet. Old fashioned patchouli.

I have recommended a sniff of Dioressence, Aromatics Elixir, Tam Dao, Coromandel, Au Coeur du desert, Hippie Rose, and a couple of others, but what else would you suggest? I'm.also going to suggest Avignon and Cardinal, the other Tauers we love, Shalimar, Samsara, Opium, the MH fumees etc as I reckon they would be up her street.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/12/2017 16:30

Forgot that I said I would wear Feu Follet tonight, so am swathed in Coromandel.

How about adding Patch Flash by Tauer Ville to your friend’s list, Perfume?

PerfumeIsAMessage · 02/12/2017 17:37

Oh yes, I popped that on, with the proviso I haven't smelled it.

Have a lovely evening, you smell divine!,Grin

I am currently in the remnants of this morning's Opium, lavender de-greaser and have a couple of Yankees on the go to get rid of the curry I made for lunch.

explodingkittens · 02/12/2017 17:42

L'air de rien? Patchouli Patch (L'AP)? Good old Fancy Nights has a patchouli note, doesn't it?

That's good to know about the PP dupes, PIAM. Interesting about the TF - the real thing is really vanilla-y on me and I'd like more tobacco so might give it a miss. But will definitely be giving the Prada a try.

Judydreamsofhorses · 02/12/2017 18:49

SOTD is Chanel 19,which I can just about smell.

PIAM how about Mad Madame by JHAG for your friend?

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 02/12/2017 19:25

Almost snap... ACAC is Cedrat Enivrant too but the soap so it's been popped in the underwear drawer for now.

Since there was nothing sprayable or dabable I went for the Rome 19?? And Dark Heart of Old Havana. Good but then went back to yesterday's Cafe Tuberosa to move from dirty cafe-in-square vibe to elegant cafe-in-square vibe. Probably the wrong way around...

CountFosco · 02/12/2017 21:25

Oh, it would be a lovely soap. It feels a bit 'clean' for me at this time of year (preferred the Christmassy Orange Sanguine) but probably comes into its own in the summer. I've taken a sneak peak at my perfume for tomorrow and looking forward to trying it.

CountFosco · 03/12/2017 08:46

ACD today is Pomelo Paradis. Pomelo, Rose and Vetiver. Smells like pink grapefruit and honey at the moment (just put it on). Think we might have to have that as part of our Christmas breakfast.
