A continuation of our Long running thread. Think this is just in time.

Lots of lovely things to smell.
Everyone is welcome.

Thanks for the low down on Bloom perfumery Kittens. I tried to order the masculine bestsellers sample pack for DH but it’s no longer available. Might give them a call.

SOTD is Tauer LADDM. My miniature arrived. Love it Grin A little handrwtten note from Andy himself and a card sample of Patch Flash by Tauerville which is really something special (my DH liked this for himself)

BluebellGal · 18/11/2017 12:38

Snap Kittens!Wink

PerfumeIsAMessage · 18/11/2017 13:20

SoTD vintage Dune.

I smell wonderful.

I think I need to contact LT and ask him to justify his "bleak" comment about Dune. When I've written to Andy about shipping to Italy, that is. (I can actually get Tauers here from AllaVioletta but I want a fangirl message from him) Grin

MrsMacNally · 18/11/2017 13:23

Can you get the discovery sets PiaM?

explodingkittens · 18/11/2017 14:48

I agree re LT and Dune, PIAM - what on earth was he on about?

Andy Tauer just 'liked' and replied to my Instagram fangirling

OCSockOrphanage · 18/11/2017 15:58

IMO Dune is not bleak, but who am I to disagree with LT? I love it, but the sillage became embarrassing in meetings and on trains. Happily, the remains of grandma's bottle found a good home with PIAM .

SoTD is Jicky, which I love but doesn't have much longevity on me in the cold, so I shall apply something else this evening to go next door for Wine with neighbours. Noir Epices would have been good, but I've finished the sample. Yesterday's scent was Sahara Noire PP dupe, so thinking Cardinal.

OCSockOrphanage · 18/11/2017 15:59

Or Chergui?

MrsMacNally · 18/11/2017 16:47

Pest always did say he'd love us....Grin

mrsreynolds · 18/11/2017 18:05

Hellooooo 🖑

Not read the thread as having problems with mn on my phone

Am currently wearing passion by Elizabeth Taylor - got a sample from e bay and I really like it

Next is a sample of shazam!

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/11/2017 18:20

SOTD is Tauer LDDM. We should start a gang.

I have spent the afternoon watching films on True Christmas while DP was at football, including a Dolly Parton number, then a big Aromatherapy Associates bath. Now in festive pjs and settling down for Strictly and X Factor. Best day.

MrsMacNally · 18/11/2017 18:24

I think we have Grin

OCSockOrphanage · 18/11/2017 21:06

This is definitely a gang. Apart from the Crepeys (some of whom post here too) and the fashion gang, we must be one of the biggest MN gangs.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2017 07:28

A gang or a quiche? Grin

Allbeauty has a huge sale on today with a lot of stuff for under £15. Worth a look?

Too early for SOTD but am in the mood for something cosy like Coromandel, I think.

Am contemplating getting LADDM for DH for Christmas. So if he feels it isn’t him, it would be ALL MINE. He has yet to open his bottle of Patch Flash...

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 19/11/2017 07:56

Feeling a bit envious kittens - my local department stores just have stands/shelves rather than little concessions with drawers and people! Vol de Nuit and Apres L'Ondee are high on my to try list. Should be near Bluewater for Christmas so hoping the John Lewis or HoF there might be big enough to carry some... Have fun Fosco. There's definitely something in that Guerlainade that works for me!

Been enjoying the Rhubarb and Custard for the past couple of days - yummy.

And sticking to the no spend for no so out of the Tauer gang Venn slot for now

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 19/11/2017 09:28

Perfume Pyjama Party?! Count me in, scrabble and cats?! My kind of night these days! Grin

Motoko Welcome to the Quiche! how timely, if you like Sun Moon Stars have you tried Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds and Rubies, which I am currently loving, thanks to Badders! A 90s floriental (isn’t it the same nose as SMS or I am getting confused?) and it can be found for under a tenner thereby saving funds for £££ stuff!

PIAM if you can encourage/motivate 13 year olds without pointlessly shouting/hiding Xbox leads/changing WIFI codes, please will you come to my house and share your wisdom in a Obi Wan Kenobi kind of way? My patience is being sorely tested and I’m amazed I haven’t gone back on the drink!

Right I’m going to have to join the Tauer club (“fangirling”? Clearly you are all 13 year olds too and PIAM is our teacher Grin)

SOTD is still Diamonds and Rubies, accessorised with frothy negligee and pearls don’t mention the fluffy socks and gloves as they kind of ruin the look Wink

explodingkittens · 19/11/2017 09:53

Morning all! SOTD is Villa Ocre by Morabito, with thanks to MrsM. A good kick of citrus in the top notes, now drying down into a pleasantly soft cedar. Not got the incense yet but it's still early! Anyway, a good accompaniment to a morning in the park, deer-watching (fingers crossed).

Floofy you sound positively La Taylor-esque in your negligee and pearls - am sure Liz would be proud Grin

littlebillie · 19/11/2017 09:59

I tried Delina, does anyone know of anything similar as the £175 tag is too much for me.

MrsMacNally · 19/11/2017 10:09

can someone explain quiches?

MrsPestilence · 19/11/2017 10:22

Quiches and Cliques We do speak Flemish after all. Grin

SotD is fried egg sandwich on home produced spelt sour dough. Back soon when I am functional.

Motoko · 19/11/2017 11:27

Floofy I read about that one on Fragrantica, in the comments under S,M & S, as being similar. And yes, I think it was mentioned that it was the same nose who created it. It's on my 'To Try'* list!

*I have a little notebook in my handbag with perfumes I want to try.

No SOTD yet, haven't decided what to wear.

CountFosco · 19/11/2017 11:39

Note to self: whrn reading up about perfumes to try on Fragantica check if they have been discontinued before deciding you want to try them. Guerlain's Vetiver pour Elle sounded perfect until I realised it was discontinued.

SotD Anubis by Papillon. It is decades since I've been in Egypt but one sniff of the top notes and I'm swept back there. Trying to work out which of the top notes produces that burnt sensation that's slightly sweet and catches you in the back of the throat. I like it, DH is not so keen. Calming down now to a floral suede mix.

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 19/11/2017 12:14

Good God MrsP that thread made me feel so nostalgic! (Slight derail, why are MaryZ’s posts gone, she hasn’t flounced has she?!)

Kittens Liz would be proud until she saw the copious cat hair on my negligee and she would probably faint at my hair Grin

Littlebillie I’m sorry I don’t know, but someone more expert than me will, no doubt :)

Motoko “a little notebook” you say? Give it time. This quiche is lethal. Soon you will have a list like this....

BluebellGal · 19/11/2017 12:14

SOTD Amanda Prada Infusions series

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 19/11/2017 12:15

Oh for FUCKS sake, every time! I mean, apologies my dear, this is the list I meant
