SOTD is L’Air de Rien. I got so wet walking home from work and am now in a gazillion layers - so much for crisp autumn days...

explodingkittens · 13/11/2017 19:14

I think I should, MrsM Grin

It's really getting cold isn't it judy (although think you're quite a bit further north than me?!) Our house is so chilly at this time of year - single glazing, old windows and drafts everywhere. Am resisting putting the fire on though. Definitely a night for a lovely warming scent.

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 13/11/2017 19:20

Cold and freezy here too - struggling to explain seasons to DC1 because reality is far removed from the lovely regular 3 nothing stretches I rose tintedly remember from childhood...

Another Yankee Candle burner too... I've macaroon treats going all weekend. Very sweet but I love it!

SotD was Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca. Not what last week's spritz suggested- a gentle spearmint rather than punchy peppermint. Nice though!

CountFosco · 13/11/2017 19:24

SotD Papillon's Angelique. Much more office friendly than Salome. Really lovely comforting scent. But bizarrely it seemed to go from having decent sillage to disappearing altogether in quite a short time. Although maybe it's just this rotten cold I have because I can still smell the cedar a bit on my wrist. Just the Anubis left to try tomorrow. Then I might need a perfume rest before I move onto the Atelier Cologne Discovery pack for December.

MrsMac you need some citrus in there as well, think of all the zest in Christmas pudding and cake and the smell of pomanders (the kids make them every year for Christmas - absolute heaven!).

MrsMacNally · 13/11/2017 19:35

Floof - and I wonder if that's why the 4160s layer together so well. Just off to try Shazam! x Captured by Candlelight - inspired by Count's comments on citrus...

OCSockOrphanage · 13/11/2017 20:11

The smell of Christmas is Christmas tree. There is a Melt candle that is perfect. Mine is so old it's lost its smell ability to diffuse, and it's burned out at the core but the wax around it is still lusciously scented and just enough that I sometimes catch a waft. I should probably get another.

OCSockOrphanage · 13/11/2017 20:14

SoTD was Oxford, thanks to Green. I don't like the minty note at the beginning, at all, but if I grit my teeth and walk SockDog, then it becomes a pleasant presence for the rest of the day. It does have longevity. In spades.

MrsMacNally · 13/11/2017 21:13

Breaking news! Think I've just ordered a 5ml miniature of LAdDM directly from Tauer, for £12, delivered. Anyone else done this successfully (or am I about to get an email notifying me of glitch in their system and a refund..Sad)?

OCSockOrphanage · 13/11/2017 21:19

That is epic news. I shall try for some Rose Chypree in the morning to test the truth. And congratulations and thanks and a Flowers.

MrsMacNally · 13/11/2017 21:22

May just be the miniatures (and only L'AdDM available)?

MrsMacNally · 13/11/2017 21:28

Have had a confirmation email...

Here's the Tauer link - but to emphasise, we don't know this works yet....

explodingkittens · 13/11/2017 21:47

Oooh now that IS exciting!

BluebellGal · 13/11/2017 22:35

Ooh mrsmacnally this is the best news I’ve had all week!! LADDM shall be mine Grin

BluebellGal · 13/11/2017 22:39

Sock I love melt candles I will be seeking this one out. I currently have Pomander by Diptyque which is very Christmassy and gorgeous

BluebellGal · 13/11/2017 22:50

LADDM £11.95 delivered

Another enabler badge for mrsm

PerfumeIsAMessage · 14/11/2017 06:53

Still doesn't ship to Italy. Humph.
We're next door FFS!
I find Tauer very odd in that respect and it annoys me which detracts from the sheer beauty of the product (not just for Italy, but the shipping abroad thing in general) If perfumes are sent by courier and not bogstandard post, there are no issues anywhere with any sizes. If Allbeauty and FeelUnique can ship freepost all over the world, then so can perfume houses. They just don't want to. It's as simple as that. Or they charge such inflated prices they can shove it.

He himself liked my FB comment the other day, maybe I'll inbox him and see what he has to say for himself! Grin

boldlygoingsomewhere · 14/11/2017 06:58

Thank you all for the rose recommendations. I've made a list and will order some samples post Christmas - my budget for perfume is non-existent this month!

explodingkittens · 14/11/2017 07:26

For some reason, woke up this morning convinced I had to wear Dior Addict today. No idea why; maybe all the vanilla talk yesterday. Anyway, SOTD is Addict Smile I don't get much vanilla (possibly a good thing), lots of white florals though. It's pleasant but this is definitely not going to be my addiction.

Soooo tempted by the 5ml LADDM...

explodingkittens · 14/11/2017 07:45

£11.95 including shipping? For 5mls of one of the most glorious perfumes ever made? In a proper Tauer bottle and a little tin box?

I'll happily sacrifice a week of takeaway coffees for that!

MrsMacNally · 14/11/2017 08:26

I still like Pest's idea of a visit Grin. We could form a delegation and make that point in person PiAM. Sorry to hear this won't work in Italy.

Like EK and Boldly I'm meant to be clamping down on frivolous expenditure to get through Xmas. although I have had a major push to list outgrown kids stuff on eBay and have just raised enough for a calendar

Am also pondering the brilliance of these miniatures as Xmas presents?

explodingkittens · 14/11/2017 08:28

Yes I was thinking the same re Xmas presents. If only he was to expand the range of miniatures...

MrsPestilence · 14/11/2017 08:45

Blimey, you lot and been busy. Small dog was returned to owner (it was only pneumonia Hmm), life and odour have returned to normal. DD has returned to the fold don't mention Uni , there goes my perfume, clothes, make-up etc. Maybe there is no normal.

SotD not yet decided, can still smell the remnants of Agent Provocateur from last night's bath. Although I love Badedas, I find it a bit drying so for a luxury bath experience I add a few squirts of perfume to the steaming water. It makes the whole room floor smell amazing.

Boldly I do hope the Dryad has the desired effect. Wink

Rose perfumes, I like JHAG Mad Madam, 4160 Who Knew and Agent Provocateur. There are others when my brain is working better, Teta's brain is outstripping me.

Christmas is such a smell sensation that I don't tend to perfume myself very much. Probably because the house is full of lovely cooking smells, beeswax candles, tree and other stuff. I want to blend in. Do Lebanese business men smell like Christmas or just a bit similar? Which notes are similar/ dissimilar?

MrsM look forward to hearing if the Tauer experiment makes it to delivery. PiaM I am sure Andy was talking on social media the other week about getting deliveries to Italy sorted, alas I can't find it now. Definitely message him, he replies.

Chanel No.22, everything No.5 wishes it was. love it Janet

No too sure about mint in perfume, makes me think of mouthwash.

Remember I have a self imposed restraining order, in an attempt to avoid a genuine one. Grin we could force him to do a special workshop, just for us

Wow, I do hope Tauer is shipping to the Uk .I've always wanted his sample kits in the cute tin.I hope it works Mrsm.
Wearing Hiram Green Dilettante today. As a natural perfume this is so fresh, rich and genuinely indolic and very green. Quite different to other Orange Blossoms and really lovely - with quite a punch.I also love the fact that this perfume comes in small bottles for a very reasonable price.
MrsP commiserations to teenage and uni woes.I had this earlier on this year.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 14/11/2017 09:28

The drop down says he ships to UK bastard Grin

Yes, I saw on the FB page another Italy person was asking about shipping. They are already doing more 5ml miniatures, can't remember which ones, they keep showing them as being made up ready for packaging etc. Maybe they just haven't made it to the website yet?

MrsP- hope dd is OK?

Off to battle infantile 16 yr old boys. Urgh. Least favourite class. Sooooo immature. Think will Tauerblast them.
