When did you all get yours - should I be chasing it up?
I've only got mine because I called in to the 4160 studio.

I was not planning to buy the Rhubarb & Custard trio, but after getting a whiff of them (after calling into 4160 to collect a gift for a friend) I was hooked & ordered all 3.

They are worth waiting for.

MrsMacNally · 07/11/2017 14:44

Amazone? (Can't search on archers as child safe thing keeps blocking sites because they are about weapons Blush).

teta · 07/11/2017 14:45

Has anyone tried Papillon's Dryad? A green perfume launched this year that I've somehow managed to miss.
I know there's a lot of love for the other Papillons here but for the ones who haven't tried them ( including me) the sample set is really good value for £18 - it's ordered!
Sotd is Vintage Paris edt - this is not a Pink Minger but a masterpiece.
I'm in horror that this is thought of as a P.M.

Perhaps we should ban further talk of PMs before it all descends into fisticuffs Grin

My Avignon is doing a grand job today but I am either Still Ill or Ill Again. After weeks of tedious hacking cough and sinus pain, I now have a sore throat and general aches. I know its nothing in the grand scheme of things but I'm thoroughly bored of this now. Especially as it means I can't sing and tonight is choir night Sad

mrsreynolds · 07/11/2017 17:11

It fascinates me how one scent can be gorgeous on someone but a PM/scrubber on me
It's so annoying!
I often smell a scent on someone and think "wow!" Then I have a spray and....bluergh 😣
It's my super power!!

MrsMacNally · 07/11/2017 17:14

Green - we need more clues! Gives us some notes, or the style?

MrsPestilence · 07/11/2017 17:45

We share a superpower MrsR Grin

Green is it Arcus by Amouage, arcus being Latin for for bow (therefore highbrow)

Grin
mrsreynolds · 07/11/2017 17:47

I may ask dh for perfume for Xmas...
Hmmm
Decisions, decisions

GreenPolishToGo · 07/11/2017 18:01

Whoops, sorry ladies! I have been dealing with DS woes and resisting (just about) the urge to go full-blown mother swan. Ho hum...

Anyhoo, the perfume suitable for a highbrow Archer (very highbrow and Victorian by the way) was created by the same nose as my beloved Alien Essence Absolue...

And talking of smoky vanilla scents, the new 4160 Rhubarb and Custard is delicious. The tobacco in the vanilla tempers the sweetness and the rhubarb note adds the right amount of tartness. I wish I'd got a bigger bottle!

MrsMac your lovely surprise arrived, thank you so much. I'm not sure I'm up to guessing which is which, but I shall certainly have great fun trying. Smile

Kittens you do make Avignon sound even more irresistible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Christmas.

GreenPolishToGo · 07/11/2017 18:04

x-posted! Sorry Pest. No not Arcus or indeed MrsMac's earlier suggestion of Amazone. I know it is very mean of me not to have given you the notes but you two would get it in a heartbeat if I did!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 07/11/2017 19:20

Are we talking about what a French Archer might say? Or I'm clutching at straws and need to hone my fragrantuca use...

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 07/11/2017 19:22

Oh and SotD was Samsara - reliable option for a work conferency eventy thing. And I related the temptation to nip to Cabot Circus nearby at lunch to start spritzing/spending Halo

CountFosco · 07/11/2017 19:26

Boss was OK, although every time I have an issue he says 'how's it going working PT?' as if it's connected. I'm the first woman with children to do this job and I leave 2 hours early 2 nights a week (and then work in the evenings!) so legally I'm not even PT.

So SotD was Paris 1948 again and I'm enjoying the drydown right now. Realised oakmoss is the lichen that grows all over the dykes at home! I don't get sweetness with the peach at all, for me it smells quite austere. It reminds me of Chanel No5 in that I admire rather than love it.

Enjoying all the PM debate. Seems like it's sometimes used to just describe what people don't like. I like MrsMac and Bluebell's descriptions though (don't think I've ever drunk Echo Falls mind you). Now here's a question, is there a perfume equivalent to Pop Art, e.g. I said earlier Rosa Ribes reminded me of Dewberry. Which one is pop culture and which is art and was the similarity deliberate?

mrsreynolds · 07/11/2017 19:33

Hope ds is ok green
Hmm...pop art as scent.
Ckone? Uber trendy but vacuous 😁
Tommy girl? LTs love for this baffles me. I get that it was new but that doesn't make it good 🤔

GreenPolishToGo · 07/11/2017 19:34

Not French, Cheap but American, though our heroine moves to Europe and settles in Rome. Actually, I think I'd better go and look up the notes before you all lynch me.

MrsPestilence · 07/11/2017 19:41

Dark Ride by Killian was quite cartoonish to me when I sniffed it at Somerset House - I could see/smell The Joker from Batman, and DisneyLand. So near-ish to Pop Art, perhaps!

explodingkittens · 07/11/2017 20:05

My 4160s still haven't arrived Sad

OCSockOrphanage · 07/11/2017 20:05

Isabel Archer... as in Henry James? I am not a participant and have not smelt anything!

OCSockOrphanage · 07/11/2017 20:12

SoTD was another combination. PP dupe of Creed Millesimes (wrist), with a spritz of Cuir plein fleure on the top of my hand. The Creed PP died in 30 minutes, but has come back to life 3 hours in. They are similar notes but end up with a sophisticated chypre leather accord that balances nicely.

GreenPolishToGo · 07/11/2017 20:21

He's a bit subdued, thank you, mrsr but feeling brighter. I shall have a quiet word asking he be separated from the culprit for the moment and an eye be kept on them. And resist the urge to unleash my inner swan!

Isabel Pest? Well done you.Smile Saves me looking up the notes too!

GreenPolishToGo · 07/11/2017 20:24

X-posted again! And well done to you too Sock.Smile

Hope they turn up soon Kittens.

MrsPestilence · 07/11/2017 20:28

Kittens can tell us the notes it is a favourite. Others call it dusty rose potpourri.

SotD is Oeillet Bengale a sort of homage to carnation, without containing carnation. Clove but not overwhelming, almost red strepsils.

SOTD was Chanel 19,and the scent of despair - DP didn’t get the job. It’s been 18 months now. I am not sure how much longer I can go on.
