Question: if you are over 35, would you wear a bikini like this?

Dh has given me this itsy bitsy bikini. and expects me to wear it in public (when we go on holiday). I am wondering whether I can pluck up the courage.

Dh seems to have overlooked the fact that I am not a tanned 21-year-old Australian model with a Brazilian wax: I am actually a pale-skinned 36-year old and only 5ft 2, with a Caesarean scar. Size 8/10 but nevertheless have a few wobbly bits.

I am very flattered that dh thinks I look good in it, but it is ridiculously skimpy.

So, what would you do? Should I just get into the holiday spirit, wear it and flaunt it, or will I look ridiculous?

(Dds are 2 and 4 so I won't exactly be lounging by the pool on this holiday; I'll be chasing round after them.)

We were on the beach last week and there was a woman playing badminton with her dh/dp in a bikini top very similar to the one in the OP (ie., too blardy small) Every time she went for a low shot she fell out of it. Which I guess was the point She looked rididulous - not least because this was Llansteffan beach in West Wales on a not particularly warm day in April.

no no no. the back is awful - I wouldn't have worn that in public at any age. I sound similar to you - 36, pale, 5 foot 1 and size 8-10 with quite some wobble (people who are 5'6 plus forget how much wobble you can have on a 5 foot frame and still be a size 8...) i'll wear a bikini on a good day but not one like that

If you have a good bod you can look stunning in a proper bikini with material covering your arse.

Flaps hanging out are not a good sight. Would put me off me cornetto.
