Wow infinito that’s quite a list, well done!

So I have two more empties, a 30ml Elemis balm cleanser (I love this stuff) and a 50ml Marine Cream (love this too).......BUT in the process of using up the MC my eyes have been watering and a bit sore for the last few days and I’m thinking it’s the Marine cream that’s causing it. So I’m currently thinking I might resist the tsv later this week as I think I like Elemis more than it likes me (I may have said this before). Hmm.

In other news, I went to get another Liz Earle toner from my drawer only to find I don’t have one!! That’s unheard of. I have one stamp left to go on my loyalty card in JL so will buy one and something else next time I’m in and I’ll get a free shampoo and Eyebright.

Can I ask if anyone has any suggestions for dealing with bad dark circles? They are looking really bad at the moment.....

curragh · 06/11/2017 19:32

Thanks for feedback on loose powder pots, was hoping to get one in a bricks & mortar shop as resent paying eBay/Amazon more in postage than the price of the object. I'm not in UK so don't usually get free postage. I'm sure I'll be buying from Amazon in the lead-up to Christmas so will add one to an order

I have two empties off my Christmas list:
63. Cien anti-dandruff shampoo which has been hanging around for at least a year
64 Clarins shampoo, sample size

8 left on my Christmas list, Nearly there on a Nuxe body lotion and a conditioner too Smile

curragh · 06/11/2017 20:25

Suchatiredbunny I also have terrible dark circles. I'm pretty pale but when I bought my new NARS concealer last week the girl advised me buy a slightly peachier tone than I'd normally have chosen. The peachy tone helps counteract the dark circles. I think it has helped a bit

suchatiredbunny · 06/11/2017 21:59

curragh thank you, I’ve not tried the Nars concealer so will check it out. I’ve had hayfever my whole life and have spent years rubbing my itchy eyes so the skin has really thinned. Nothing helps and I’m forever searching for a miracle!

kwick · 07/11/2017 05:22

user I want to try more stuff from La Petite Marseillas (or something similar) and maybe stock up on my fav suncream from Ecran... but it is just seeing new things that I most enjoy!

You guys are doing so well - I have so many products left on my Christmas list - I really need to shake a leg!!!

Is it too early to open day 7 of my advent? Hmm

kwick · 07/11/2017 07:22

Sad day 7 was disappointing

Baileystruffle · 07/11/2017 09:39

Kwick you made me curious so I peeked a look on youtube to see what no 7 is- I'd be disappointed with that too.

LisaK73 · 07/11/2017 16:00

I'm just joining this thread for first time. Hard to believe but my first time on mumsnet! My boy is 8! And I used to hang out on baby whisperer site but not been on there for ages. Now I'm interested in 5 his thread, anyone here like natural products? I'm talking real.natural, not pretend natural? 😊 I'm subscribed to love Lula. ...

Baileystruffle · 07/11/2017 19:50

I have delved for the first time into the realm of using acids (as I had a sample of Nip&fab glycolic pads I wanted to use up and are on my 12 for Christmas list). So I wanted to check I used it correctly- I double cleansed my face first, dried it, then wiped a pad all over it. What now? Do I leave it on and chuck moisturiser over it or wash it off? It felt really funny, almost like tiny bubbles popping all over my face just after I put it on but I read a 'tingling' is normal? Face also feels slightly sticky so not sure whether to wash it. Was hoping someone here could help!?

Baileystruffle · 07/11/2017 19:54

Hi Lisa, I love the idea of natural products and try to buy them when I can- but have such a stash of products that I use loads of other ones too (hence the glycolic pads above) and unlikely to end soon as I am getting an M&S advent calendar! But when I do need to buy something, or get it for the family I try to get natural. I had my eye on the Holland &Barrett calendar but its only 12 days and same price as M&S so M&S one seems more appealing!

LisaK73 · 07/11/2017 20:49

Yes, natural usually comes with premium price but it doesn't always have to be that way. If you like acids and such, have you looked at a brand called The Ordinary? I'm a bit of a natural geek/nerd as I'm studying to create my own 100% natural products, it's great fun. So whilst you all have a list as long as ur arm of gorgeous products, my shelves are jammed with natural oils, butters, botanicals and so on. I'm loving the beauty advent calendars, perhaps that's an idea for friend and family for Xmas...I can make a January skin detox calendar ha ha ha

kwick · 08/11/2017 07:55

Welcome lisa!
I did have a foray into natural deodorant but I got quick a lot of mould and was a bit stinky winky Blush
Would love to hear if you have any recommendations?
I avoid products with cyclic silicones like cyclopentasiloxane as these are very harmful and I also avoid microbeads - if I accidentally purchse I post the product back to the manufacturer Grin
I have plenty of The Ordinary in my stash Grin

The deed is done! I have bought the M&S advent calendar Grin

OP posts:
Baileystruffle · 09/11/2017 07:44

Hooray! I just bought it too! Was worried it would be out of stock straight away online but it wasn't.

Strawberryfield12 · 09/11/2017 09:09

I bought mine as well and while my basket was waiting for beauty advent to go alive, some of the items went on 3 for 2, and my Quidco cashback had tracked, which I turned into M&S giftcard. Sort of got my advent calendar for £10 only. Grin

Have some empties this morning, not all on the Christmas list though. All in all I have cleared 8 products from the list and few are in pipeline, but I am pretty sure I will not use by Christmas The Body Shop face oil. It was completely new product at a time and I have made a small dent in this time by using it every night.

IPokeBadgers · 09/11/2017 14:58

Another empty: superdrug B range day moisturiser. Like the range, will probably buy again in future when I have worked through some of the existing stash.

LisaK73 · 09/11/2017 15:58

Wow that advent calendar, how gorgeous. I was just in M&S looking at all the lovely red clothes. Glad I ran out of time to buy anything, school pickup....so now I can buy stuff online and pick up that advent calendar. I thought about buying it outright and then saw the price tag!!! I know a lot of that stuff aint natural but got to understand the competition right :-) I just shipped some exfoliating balms to some friends to test for me, must say, they do smell delicious (spearmint and eucaplytus with jojoba beads and another one rose geranium, lemon and lavender hot cloth balm).......right off to 'add to basket' at M&S...

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 09/11/2017 18:38

Ooh m&s calendar out you say......
still using up last years so shouldn't but........
Still have a body spray from Halloween list. Lasting ages but it is nice to use so no real hardship.
Also finished 3 from xmas list: LRP cleanser and random soaps. Had soaps hanging around for ages so very pleased to get rid. DH also appears to becoming a hoarder. Has 4 bottles in shower. He just opens anything he gets so I may need to get strict!

suchatiredbunny · 09/11/2017 19:49

The good.....I’ve got three empties! Ooh, make that four! One was on my 13, a Clarins Orange hand cream, very nice. The others have gone towards my 25, an Avalon Organics tea tree shampoo (nice but I prefer the BS Ginger), a Pantene Mousse conditioner (nice, but ‘non’ so wouldn’t buy again) and the pot of Lush Ocean Salt Body Scrub which I really like and will definitely repurchase.

The bad......I bought the LE C&P, tonic and moisturiser plus a rose C&P for DDs stocking, but this got me a freebie shampoo and Eyebright. Also, I caved and ordered the Elemis tsv (the skin nourishing one) but only the one, some people have ordered loads! Grin

chloechloe · 09/11/2017 20:53

My mum has bought the M&S one for me today bless her as I'm
not in the U.K.

I am powering through my 25 for Xmas!

  1. Ren Flash Defence anti pollution Mist - kind of pointless! Was a freebie.
  2. Dr Levy Intense Stem cell serum booster 9ml
  3. Another mini L'Occitane foot cream
  4. Zelens 3t complex cream 10ml.

I have been really really naughty and bought some stuff from Cult Beauty just so I could get their "Best of 2017" freebie bag. I really need help.

I think I have to commit to not buying anything AT ALL in 2018 unless I have no substitute product whatsoever. Which is unlikely.

mintmagnummm · 09/11/2017 21:30

Oh I had an empty and forgot to tell u all! Sukin hydrating mist toner completely finished! Have another on the go

RJnomore1 · 10/11/2017 00:23

Oh Lordy I need an intervention!

I started out on thread 1 with you and dropped off.. I cannot stop buying miniatures... Clinique sets delivered today, look fantastic advent staring at me in the corner... help!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 10/11/2017 00:25

Good work chloe. I'm also off to look at cult beauty! I ordered some of the 'can't live without products' in a beauty box earlier this year and really quite non-plussed with queen of Hungary mist, oribe hair product and oskia mask. I'm trying to remember this when I fall into trap of wanting things! But they come with such rave reviews that I cave!
Had a shower and used up 3 things from xmas list; summer smell body butter, body scrub and summer perfume. Now ready to open body shop xmas smells left over from last year!

kwick · 10/11/2017 07:05

Need to catch up - but am in a rush to get to work, so just to report an empty:

  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant glycolic acid daily cleansing pads: meh - have other stuff in stash which will hopefully work better
