When you say no spend does that exclude Christmas gifts?

OP posts:

Back from holidays and can report a bunch of empties. Really chuffed since half of them were some really old toiletries from hotels etc.

Good luck quick!

Well done frugal and strawberry.

I have a couple more:

  1. Lush Jersey Bounce shampoo (sample).

  2. Jo Malone candle gifted to me when I left my last job 7 years ago! Does a candle count!?

Lots of luck with your cycle kwick, I have an ICSI baby and an IVF baby, fingers crossed for you.

kwick · 02/11/2017 21:25

Well done strawberry & thank you!

chloe what was the Lush shampoo like?
Thank you & well done you!

Is it wrong to want to go in for a second advent gift today????
What in the hell am I going to in January?!

OP posts:
chloechloe · 03/11/2017 05:37

I can't say the shampoo did anything for my hair kwick although I was hoping from the name that it would give me amazing hair! I do like my shampoo to foam (I know it's all the bad stuff that does that) but, as you'd expect from Lush, this doesn't foam at all. I could have lived with that if the shampoo gave good results but I can't say it did.

Have another empty:

  1. Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic & Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Pads (or something like that). This was my first dabble with retinol and I'm quite impressed.
kwick · 03/11/2017 07:11

Thanks chloe

I resisted last night but have just opened day 3 of the Look Fantastic advent - it is still going strong!

OP posts:
kwick · 03/11/2017 08:01

So I have one empty (from Christmas list):

  • Primark PS Pro sugar lip scrub: ok but I much prefer the Lush one

I need to add a couple items to my Christmas list as had to ditch some due to nasty fertility busting ingredients

Also am chucking MAC Amplified Dubonnet (bright red) lipstick: very near the end, lid broken, goes gunky and dries out lips.

kwick last year there were some calendars sold at discount in december. You can always buy one for January. I did it with youbeauty one last year, but by mid January I had had enough and opened all the boxes and binned the calendar. I do like to get rid of things and have space Grin

Hi all, just checking in. So, by Halloween I had three things left from my 13 by Halloween list so will keep going with these, which are
Body Shop moisture foundation (perfect colour but light coverage do not worn as much since my skin played up in the summer as I needed more coverage)
Body Shop Midnight Jasmine body lotion (about 1/3 of this left to go)
Clarins orange and fig hand cream (this is almost gone).

I have a couple of empties which go on my 25 by Xmas list,
Olay Total Effects fragrance free day cream (love this)
Alberto Balsam Apple Shampoo (ok, nothing special)
Liz Earle Skin Tonic (my favourite toner, love the smell and wish they’d bring it out as a perfume)
Liz Earle deep cleansing mask (I like this but it’s a lot of money for a clay mask so won’t repurchase).

Also used up so on my 25 list but not sure if I’ve mentioned are
Aveeno Face Scrub (so Gentle, but microbeads in it means I won’t repurchase)
Neutrogena Face wash (orange, dyes the grout in the shower so definitely not buying again!)
Nivea Shower mousse (DDs)
John Frieda Blonde Shampoo (DDs)

That takes me up to 12 things used up which is how I’m compiling my 25. Really hoping to see a difference in the number of bottles, lotions and potions in the bathroom as with five of us we end up with different shampoos etc on the go.

Missed out on the Tili advent calendar that I’d said I would go for so instead will be buying the Elemis tsv thus week on qvc. Grin

Hi ladies, hoping you can help me with a tangential question. I have a Bobbi Brown bronzer which broke. I be tried fixing it using alcohol but it only lasted a couple of weeks. I like the colour but it's such a pain to use.

I was thinking of getting a pot for the bits, with a perforated lid and a screw cap. Like what you'd get a loose powder in. Have you any idea where I'd be able to buy one or even what the proper name is so I can google it! Thank you Flowers

suchatiredbunny · 04/11/2017 20:07

Could you look on eBay for an empty one?

suchatiredbunny · 04/11/2017 20:53

Just looked on eBay, type in empty powder pot and you can get them for a couple of pounds.

chloechloe · 05/11/2017 13:08

Hello! How are we all getting on? I have to say this thread has really motivated me to get stuff finished. DH has started telling me off every evening - go to bed and stop messing round in the bathroom!

  1. L'Occitane light comforting cream 8ml

  2. Ren Instant firming beauty shot 10ml

To be fair most of them are smaller sizes but it will be good to get rid of lots of little bottles as there's so much stuff I forget what I have.

Am planning to use my LF calendar box (which seems to be empty already!) to group stuff so I can shop my stash when things run out.

OutToGetYou · 05/11/2017 20:49

I've used up a few more:

FAB pads (fine but a bit harsh for my skin, only need them the week before period)

I threw away a sachet of shower gel from Kiels as I couldn't open it with my teeth in the shower and the layers of the packet separated, and I got cross with it!

I'm nearly there with a very small White Company shower gel.

Am happy I am getting through stuff and resisting buying more.

I found a tub of body scrub from Lush earlier and thought I’d try it....,it’s a salt based one and it’s fantastic! It’s quite rough but sort of dissolves as you rub it in and then vanishes in the water so you aren’t sat in a bath full of grit! Will definitely use and buy again. Can’t remember the name though, Oceanic maybe? Very impressed.

OutToGetYou · 05/11/2017 23:44

Oh, Ocean Scrub. It's quite nice. Lush not really my thing but I have a huge tub of this to give my sister when she comes to stay cos she loves it.

kwick · 06/11/2017 07:25

Great progress ladies!!!

chloe I think I may upcycle my LF advent calendar box too. Will depend how grand the M&S one is!!!

I had a makeover yesterday - got a couple of nice photos but Jesus still trying to get the mascara off!

Have a great week y’all!

Hello everyone!

I need to update my list and prepare my 25 for Christmas. I am happy that I did more than 13 for halloween, so I am hoping I can do the same for Christmas as I have acquired more cosmetics 🙈

I do love using them now and it makes me feel good knowing none are being saved for 'a special day'. Every day is a special day 💖

usernameinfinito · 06/11/2017 17:41

Did I kill the Fred?

kwick · 06/11/2017 17:47

Not at all @usernameinfinito !!!!

Well done on your progress!!!

Is it wrong to be equally excited about my embryo transfer date as the chance to stock up on Spanish beauty products????

OP posts:
usernameinfinito · 06/11/2017 17:51

Oh quick I am excited for you too!
Regarding Spanish brands, the only one I know about is Nenuco, only because I like their baby perfume.
